About this property
5250 Sq Ft. 5-Star Mountain Home with 360° Peak & Valley Views
Nearly new spacious 5250 square foot custom vacation home atop 52 acres in the Rocky Mountains! A wonderful family retreat and one of the most tranquil places in the world. Enjoy dinner outdoors on the balcony overlooking magnificent views of the Gunnison Valley, layers and layers of mountain peaks as well as a forest filled with prolific trees. Relax and take pleasure in the awe-inspiring views out of every window throughout the house. It is like you are on top of the world, nestled in the middle of paradise. Local caretaker available to assist with your needs!
The home's amenities include a theater room (with satellite television and XBOX); giant chess set; telescope; arts and crafts room; small library stocked with local books; closet filled with board games; and arcade room with television, game table, air hockey, pinball, skee ball, full-sized, upright console that houses classic arcade games and a jacuzzi on the balcony looking out at Whetstone Mountain.
As you drive through the forest and approach our front porch, your mind will wander as you feel relaxation setting in and visualize yourself on the rocking or swinging chair enjoying the outdoors and local wildlife.
Welcome into our beautiful vacation home via a grand entry with a custom made staircase made from local timbers and antique pieces.
The children's desire is to run to the right of the entry to the Arcade Room. Inside they will find Skee Ball, a pinball machine, air hockey game, game table for poker or other card games, arcade console, television, queen sofa bed and full mini kitchen which includes a refrigerator, sink, plates, glasses, dishwasher and microwave oven. The Arcade Room has its own private balcony and Jacuzzi. This authentic game room may be the reason your children ask to keep coming back each year!
If you proceed straight down the hallway from the entry you will encounter the theater room to the right, the guest room to the left and two children's rooms further ahead.
The Theater Room allows the whole family to sit together, crank up the sound system and watch movies on DVD, satellite television, Pay Per View or play with the XBOX or Play Station gaming systems. Another heaven for children.
The guest room contains a queen bed with its own private full bathroom and balcony looking out at Mount Crested Butte.
The two children's rooms each have a queen bed with full private bathrooms.
To the left of the entry way you will find a second entry to the house via a mudroom.
The mudroom allows access to the two car heated garage which is big enough to park trailers if desired and a full laundry room that contains storage, a laundry shoot from upstairs, sink, washer and dryer. Outside the laundry room window is a beautiful view of Mount Crested Butte.
Climbing the stairs to the second floor you will see spectacular views from every window. At the top of the stairs, you will enter the Great Room with a large fireplace and panoramic views of the Crested Butte Valley. This Great Room is comparable to what you would find in a 5 star hotel ski lodge.
The Great Room possesses a telescope to enlarge the views or to look to the sky, a large scale chess set overlooking the Skyland area and a stereo system with an Ipod that contains over 10,000 songs. The music system can be played throughout the house and the volume adjusted in each room. Or you may simply cuddle up on the couch, or in a comfy chair, and read a book with a raging fireplace or on the expansive balcony while watching the sun set over the mountains!
The balcony off the Great Room has a BBQ and picnic table so the family can enjoy a beautiful outdoor dinner or happy hour. At night, you must enjoy the shooting stars that appear right above your head through the telescope or even the naked eye.
Off of the Great Room and to the right at the top of the stairs is the Arts and Crafts Room that can also be used as a fifth bedroom The room has a double bed with a pullout twin trundle bed, craft table, chairs and lighting to allow one to take pleasure in their hobbies late into the night. This room is open to the great room at the ceiling level, so not an ideal bedroom for the early to bed guests. It also has beautiful french doors that open up onto a private balcony looking out at Whetstone Mountain.
At the top of the stairs is the dining area. This oval table allows maximum dialogue by allowing all parties to contribute to the conversation. The table has the capacity for twelve people to enjoy dinner together.
Immediately past the dining area is the gourmet kitchen. This elaborate kitchen was designed for a gourmet chef and maximum efficiency. The kitchen contains a Dacor 6 burner stove, Sub-Zero Refrigerator, two small drink refrigerators, a Dacor oven and convection oven, microwave oven, two dishwashers, two sinks, an island and plenty of counter space. The kitchen is stocked with almost any appliance you would need and is open to the house so the chef does not feel excluded from the rest of the company.
Across from the kitchen is the breakfast nook that seats 6.
The master bedroom has breathtaking views through each window and is a true romantic retreat! The room offers a king size bed; fireplace; original artwork of Charles White, french doors opening to a balcony and a master bathroom with a jacuzzi bath tub, his and her sinks and dual heads in the over sized master shower.
Step outside the home and into the forest to explore the Rocky Mountains!

This home was perfect for our family Ski trip. The game room was so much fun for kids and adults! The views were breathtaking, we have rented many homes in Mt Crested Butte this home takes first place!
We had a great time and the house is beautiful as well as the view. The accommodations - room set up and the extras with the game room and theatre room - were just what we needed for our family - kids and grandkids! May need to come back in the summer now that we know about this great place!
Beautiful property and the home is very well appointed. While 4 miles up the mountain seems dicey the road is wide and well maintained. Property manager is responsive and knows the area. We will definitely consider staying here again. You have to experience the view to appreciate it.
Our stay at this property was superb. All amenities are as listed on VRBO. Stunning views of the mountains and Crested Butte below. We were able to have our wedding and photos on the property amongst the wildflowers and breathtaking views.Would for sure stay here again, as it was an overall great experience.
The home was perfect for our extended family stay. The host was very responsive and all of our questions were answered. The kids loved the game room and no one wanted to leave.
Wonderful home for Crested Butte vacation. Online photos don’t do it justice. View from deck is worthy of marketing photo for Colorado. Kitchen is a marvel. Highly recommend!
The house was wonderful and was the perfect place to stay in and watch the clouds form, gather, and dissipate and offered a great place to get out of the rain while still feeling in touch with nature and close enough to get back out there and be in the thick of it as soon as the sun starts peaking out from behind the clouds again!
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely home, great place to spend time with family and friends and enjoy the beautiful views. Only issue is that the dishwashers do not clean dishes well, though the rest of the kitchen was so spacious and great for preparing large meals together.

Thank you for letting us know. We will get the dishwashers serviced or replaced immediately. Jeff
Our family enjoyed celebrating Thanksgiving in this beautiful home! Everyone had their own space, so it was easy to spread out and relax, yet throughly enjoyed being together in the family spaces, hot tub, game room and kitchen. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook up a feast. The 360 views of the mountains and nature were amazing. It is about 7 miles from town, and the road up the mountain to the house is 4 miles up a well maintained, but snow covered road with switchbacks. In the cold months, 4wd is best. We never left the house while we were there for 4 days. You want to be prepared with food, etc. because it’s not a quick trip to the store. However, we loved the time to unplug and relax. We all enjoyed the arcade room and the hot tub felt great! Eric, the property manager was fantastic! He was very responsive and kind! We would have enjoyed a tv in the family room to watch all together, but that’s about it as far as a wish list.
Absolutely gorgeous property. Great amenities and beautiful views. The only challenge is the road up the mountain. If you are coming in winter make sure you have a car that can handle the conditions. Rental cars don’t always have 4WD.
This house had everything you could ever want and more. The consensus of our group was this was one of the best rental properties we’ve ever stayed at. We will 100% be coming back to this one. Kitchen was fully stocked and then some. But the hands-down winner is the view out of the living room window. Amazing stay top to bottom.
Spacious and secluded house with an amazing view. Property management was very responsive. We had 12-18" of snowfall during our December stay, and the winding private road to the house was always plowed and passable with 4WD, although I would not recommend it with a 2WD vehicle during the winter.
We loved everything about this house! The views are breathtakingly beautiful. The kitchen, and every part of this home is well equipped and met all of our needs. The owners and property manager have been easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Our experience and stay was perfect in every way! We would love to come back!
We really enjoyed the home and the view is spectacular! Very well stocked kitchen, linens and cleaning supplies.
The picture with the bunk room needs to be removed from listing. Luckily we brought an air mattress with us.
Thank you for sharing your home!!!

The distance is calculated by VRBO. We are 1.8 miles from the Town of Crested Butte; however the property is advertised as a 10 minute drive to town since there are some switchbacks.
We have an AMAZING time. The house is so lovely, well equipped with all your needs. Lots of space for everyone. Will defiantly be staying again. The host and property manager are very nice. Easy to speak with and answered all of our questions we had before renting. Thank you so much for letting everyone enjoy your lovely home. Just breath taking views. Defentaly recommend a 4 wheel drive car for sure 😊. Happy Vacationing everyone!!
Our party of eight had a great time in Crested Butte, hiking, jeeping, rafting, golfing and shopping. The cabin was a super place to call home for the week, very private and quiet, luxurious and accommodating. Supreme views from the home, like going on a hike without leaving! We cooked most of our meals in, as the kitchen was a pleasant place to be, and a great dining table to facilitate long meals and conversation. Quite the chess board in front of the picture window, great in the evening or a rainy day. Property manager friendly and responsive. Great experience!

Spring Break 2019
The home was beautiful and the views were breathtaking. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole family spent many fun hours in the arcade room. Our only disappointment was not being able to watch movies in the media room. The projector light never came on, so all we got was audio. None of the outlets in the room worked either. But all in all, a very awesome place!!!!!

I am sorry about your frustration watching movies. I checked with our property manager and they said they were never contacted about an issue as they are available 24 hours a day. Regardless, I had our theatre company up to the home to review the equpment and they were not able to duplicate the issue (they also can log in remotely 24 hours a day if a problem arrises). I am sorry for the frustration, but we do have mutiple protocols in place to handle issues when the property manager or myself are contacted.
