Our vintage apartment is located in the beautiful Chicago neighborhood of Lakeview with many ethnic restaurants and clubs within walking distance. Try a different ethnic specialty every night of the week. Stroll 2 blocks through the neighborhood to the elevated train to downtown or catch an Uber, Lift or cab in minutes. The lake front is less than a mile away and so is Wrigley Field.
The apartment is the 1st floor of a vintage 2 flat with natural woodwork and updated and fully equipped kitchen and bath. It is comfortably and tastefully decorated to make you feel at home. Just unpack your bags and make this your home away from home. Our beds and linens are high quality insuring a good nights sleep.
An outdoor garden space/shaded patio, BBQ grill and dining table is just out the back door of the apartment. Kind of a country in the city feel. As our guest you are encouraged to use the yard to sip your morning coffee or BBQ your dinner on a charcoal grill.
* Pet Friendly: We do ask that we are informed at the time the apartment is rented about any and all pets. There is a $75 pet fee per stay. We also ask that all pet owners are responsible and pick up after their pets. Additional fee for pet is charged
* Kid Friendly: We have hosted many families. Kids are welcome. We have a Pack-n-Play and high chair for your use
* Minimum Age Limit for Renters: The
renting party must be at least 25 years old
* Smoking Not Allowed: Our apartment is smoke free. you are welcome to smoke on the patio or while sitting on the front steps watching the neighborhood go by! Please dispose of butts properly

The owners clearly care about the guests' comfort. Lots of small touches, like proper tools in the kitchen, cotton sheets, plenty of towels, etc.Very quiet yet centrally located.

The unit is really clean and it has lots of amenities. The kitchen is well stocked. It's in a great location - easily walkable to many restaurants, grocery stores and public transportation. Parking was always available. Will definitely stay here again.

Family visit to Chicago

Location, property, and owners were all very nice. We spent three days in Chicago touring and visiting colleges. Lots to do in walking distance and public transit was easy to navigate from there. Easy walk to Whole Foods for groceries. Great stay overall.

Great Location

As advertised. Well kept older building. A/c pumped cold just as I like it. Lots within walking distance including Wrigley which was about 15m easy walk north up Racine. Would stay again.

Absolutely Perfect!

My 80+ year old parents stayed here for a week. The apartment is a gem!! It was spotless, well equipped, and super comfortable/homey. The neighborhood is lovely and safe. They walked to a different restaurant for almost every meal. This sure beats staying in a hotel. The owners even managed to supply perfect weather all week :). Thank you - will most definitely be happy to stay here again.

Hands down the best place to stay

There aren’t enough stars for this place! We came into town last minute with our kids and 2 dogs. Diane welcomed us into her home and it was perfect! Knowing they have lived in this home for approx 39 years gave us a lot of security that it was a great area. They provided parking passes for us and at time we parked a little farther away but didn’t mind because the walk was wonderful and the vibe in neighborhood is super friendly. Fully stocked kitchen, filtered water in fridge for us, fresh coffee, comfortable beds! We walked many places in the neighborhood all times of the day and even late at night with our dogs and felt extremely comfortable. We can see why people return to this VRBO because we are now in that position and will definitely be staying there again if we visit Chicago again. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to go back! Good luck with your remodel it’s going to be beautiful.

My wife and I have enjoyed living in our vintage 2 flat on the tree lined street in this Lakeview neighborhood for the last 42 years. So many places are within walking distance that we rarely use our car except for work. We have rented our 1st. floor as a short term vacation/temp apartment for the last 20 years and have hosted guests from all over the world, including locals relocating or remodeling. We have truly enjoyed hosting guests that have come to explore the city, go to a ball game, go to a special family occasion, or to a conference that brings them to Chicago.

Why they chose this property

We purchased our 2 flat located in this north side neighborhood almost 42 years ago as a place to live and raise a family. We have never regretted moving to Lakeview. It is a vibrant neighborhood filled with tree-lined streets with an admix of vintage-maintained homes and apartments as well as small and medium-sized condominium buildings. This is a true Chicago neighborhood filled with a healthy mix of young families and singles as well as older long-time residents. It is very walkable. There is little reason for a car. Excellent public transportation to downtown, and Lakeview is a very walkable part of town. It has been rated 92% on the walkability index. Just a great place to experience a Chicago neighborhood.

What makes this property unique

Our 2 flat was built by a German family in the late 1800's. There is the original hutch in the diningroom. The yard is just a great place to sit out with a cup of coffee or have a bbq dinner and eat at your table set on the stone patio.
