The cabin was very clean. This stay was with the Class of 1982 for our class outing. We really enjoyed ourselves and we do plan on planning another stay.

The size of this location was great. Bears wondered by almost daily which was really cool. Several of the appliances had issues, the dishwasher and stove both had issues. We would stay here again for the size and location.

Great loaction close to everything in Gatlinburg. Cabin was really nice and had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay again. We even got to see a bear stroll through the parking lot! That was pretty cool.
Very convenient. Had all the necessary items you would need for a 4 day stay. Lots of room for the 30 people that stayed there. Games and theater room were perfect.

Thank you for your positive review of our property. We are glad to hear that the accommodations and amenities were suitable for your group's needs. It's our goal to provide a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all our guests. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
The house was impressive. Spotless. It was in the perfect location close to all the attractions. Last visit we stayed in a high mountain house, we were to scared to go up and down mountain and were not able to enjoy attractions. This home was walkable distance to the main strip. Every day we were able to go enjoy a different attraction. Enough space for a large group of people. Looking forward to next year.

We couldn't be happier with our stay for the weekend. Everything was on point from start to finish. Very easy as well. Thank you for a great stay. We will def be back
Great place very responsive polite management. Property needed some repairs but management wished to send maintenance. Didn’t want to give up family time to have maintenance repair on our time! Check in was a nightmare as the message system was not working properly. I never got check in info by email or text. Had to call. Great place but bad issues that need addressing!

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that you experienced some issues during your stay. Some cell service carriers can be unreliable at times, especially when traveling here in the mountains and can prevent text messages or emails from being delivered. We encourage all guests to call us if they haven't received their info by check-in time. Please feel free to reach out to our management team directly if there is anything else we can do to make your next visit more satisfactory. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future.
This place exceeded my expectations! I have been to this area 4 times in the past few years. None of the other residences come close. Def worth the price!
We had a wonderful time. The home was beautiful and everything worked well, no issues except a few visits from the bears, but they continued on to where they were going. It was refreshing watching them. The neighborhood was exceptional! We will definitely come stay again in the future. KUDOS to the staff when communicating with us!
Location was GREAT. We were able to walk to and from the downtown main area of Gatlinburg, even the 4 year old. Watched the fireworks on New Years Eve from our deck with a great view. Large Gathering Room on main level with kitchen/dining area was great for our large group. We had a few minor problems but as soon as we notified the manager the problems were immediately taken care of. We recommend this to large groups and we look forward to going again soon.
Super Comfortable and Incredible for Large Groups!
We had a group of 18 stay at the house with several small children (think nap-time is still essential) so we had more rooms than we needed, but it was perfect. There was enough space for 18 of us to comfortably hang out in the open-concept kitchen/living room without feeling stressed out. Having that many bathrooms, the little movie theater seating, and the fantastic bunkbeds made this for an absolutely terrific stay. I booked it for my mom's birthday and the hosts even sent a small card and a bear for her to congratulate her. I highly recommend this place and would love to stay again. We saw bears every day of the stay (including one who nonchalantly walked through the backyard), which was exciting and fun! The floors needed a bit better vacuuming, but that's really the only criticism I have for it. It is spacious, comfortable, overall very clean, and made you feel like home immediately (although I cannot comfortably fit 18 into my home). For anyone with a big group (and small children) this is a fantastic decision. Additionally, you can walk to downtown Gatlinburg, it's about half a mile to walk, so you dont even need to pay for parking or worry about traffic. Thank you for letting us stay here!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
A bit of a mixed bag +/-
First off--the pros: the house itself is really beautiful. Large, well thought-out amenities and common spaces. Nicely decorated and well stocked (dishes, linens, cooking supplies). The house and its configuration worked very well with our large family reunion. Plenty of space for all.
The cons: some TVs in rooms did not work, flooring on main floor was really dirty (not visibly but our feet were filthy from day 1--it seemed like it needed a good mopping), no broom for clean-ups. These are fairly minor--part of working out the kinks of a new property I imagine.
What was not a minor hiccup was a persistent issue with the trash. Either or previous guest or a bear (likely the latter) left a bag of trash over the embankment right off the lower deck. This proved problematic for a couple reasons. First, this house is situated in bear country--the creatures don't need any additional enticement. Beginning with our first morning there we saw a bear foraging through the trash, scale the support poles and walk around the lower deck of the house, and approach the front door of the house on two occasions. And there were people nearby everytime. We completely understand--the bears were here first. But leaving that bag of trash out there was like bear baiting. I called and spoke with maintenance 6 times the second day we were there, and while seemingly sympathetic--there was no remedy. For our entire stay--the trash remained. I was told by the property management company that they tried to send someone out to clean up the trash and he slipped on the wet embankment and could not finish the job. Perhaps they did, and we were not unsympathetic to his challenge. However, for 5 full days, the trash lay strewn about the property--feet from the house. I am not sure why the maintenance team did not attempt an additional solution to this problem. Several phone calls and 5 days--particularly at this price point--is entirely unacceptable. Even if the bears were a non-issue, no guests at this upscale property should have to stare at trash for the entirety of their stay.
The house was lovely and we enjoyed our time. Yet, we were left quite disappointed by the management of this property. Our extended family takes a vacation together like this regularly in different locations and we have never encountered an issue like this. No attempt at remediation or restitution was offered. Disappointing.

Dear Bruce,
We sincerely apologize for the issues you had during your stay with the trash. We do try to make sure this does not happen to begin with and this will be addressed promptly. We will also make sure the management team is aware and follows up to make sure this is addressed. We do hope despite all of this you and your family were still able to go out and enjoy all that Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have to offer. When you are ready to come back please keep us in mind as we would be happy to have you come back and stay with us and let us show you this is not indicative of our level of customer service.
Thank you

The Big Poplar Retreat has a lot of room for larger groups to stay and have their own space. Kitchen is fully stocked, more than enough towels and blankets, they supply dish soap, dishwasher tablets, sponges, shampoo, conditioner and soap. Only thing I will note is that it advertises they have "hair dryer" and there is only one in the unit when the unit will sleep over 60 people. We never found the one hairdryer but luckily someone else brought one. Also the kitchenette downstairs is not stocked with anything other than a tea towel, sponge and dish soap. No dishes, cups, glasses or silverware so you would need to bring down from main floor kitchen. Other than that, the place was perfect for our needs. Thanks Vacasa for another great stay! We have stayed in this area for 3 years in a row and not sure we will go anywhere else.
This property was the perfect location for an annual office retreat. The accommodations were more than enough for our visit to Gatlinburg. Located within a short walk to downtown with a shorter walk to a trolley stop. This was very convenient for taking in restaurants and shopping without the hassle of attempting to park on the main strip. The house is beautiful with cabin themed decor throughout.

Beautiful home, with some flaws
It’s a great home with a fantastic layout and ideal for large parties. It looks as advertised. The kids loved the bunk beds, the video games, and the movie room. We all loved the living room and backyard deck for the families to hang out. We saw a bear cub walk between cabins to the backyard on our first night!
However, it is not without some small flaws, which you don’t expect at these price points.
The row of cabins are packed a bit tight and we had a very loud group neighboring us drinking and yelling (not exaggerating) until 2:30am. It was impossible for the 2 or 3 rooms facing that house to get any sleep until the neighbors went to bed late. I recognize this might be our own 1-off experience, but it really did impact our stay. The room walls also don’t provide a great barrier to sound so you can hear more than you should be able to.
The floors are very dirty. I noticed others complain about this in previous reviews but hoped those were 1-off scenarios. They weren’t. Our feet were black on the bottom after the first night. We wore sandals thereafter.
We ran out of paper towels on day 4 of 5 (we had almost 30 people eating daily at the house). We were told they don’t provide additional supplies. I find that to be very disappointing, again given how much we are paying.
Lastly, 2 coffee machines in the property, neither worked. To their credit, someone quickly came out with a paper clip to fix both of them (some small component needed to be cleaned out - guess it was a known problem). Another annoyance on our first morning there which forced a Starbucks run.
Little things for the most part, but you expect flawlessness when paying 5 figures.

Nihar, thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that you all loved the living room and backyard deck! We sincerely apologize for any disruption the neighbors may have caused during your visit. Guests are welcome to call about noise complaints during quiet hours so we can assist them. Furthermore, we value cleanliness very highly, and we have passed your comments about the condition of the floors to our housekeeping staff so they are aware of your concerns. To clarify, we provide our guests with a starter kit of supplies. This includes cleaning supplies, toiletries, and paper products. Once these supplies run out it is the responsibility of our guests to provide any additional supplies throughout the remainder of their stay. We hope to have the opportunity to host you for a worry-free getaway in the future.

Great cabin for large groups!
This is a beautiful cabin with a great lay out . The bunk rooms we amazing. The kitchen was stocked well with cooking utensils and pots and pans .It wasn’t but just a short hop to town Incase you needed something. However the floors were very dirty. Walk across the floor with socks or barefoot and your feet are black. There was trash on the landing of the stairs going upstairs to bedrooms . Baseboards were very dusty.
When we were ready to take things out of the oven there were no pot holders and only one kitchen towel no dish cloths. There are lots of bear on the property climbing on the decks so be careful going out side .
All in all we enjoyed our stay .

We're sorry to read you experienced an incomplete clean. That sounds very disappointing to encounter and will be discussed with our housekeeping staff. The pot holders have been replaced. Thank you!
This place was great. Even better than expected. It was super clean and check-in was easy for everyone. Plenty of parking. The house itself is in a great spot- walkable to the center of Gatlinburg but you also have some great forest/mountain views from the front and back of the house. Great place and we hope to go back to this house or one of the others in the complex.
