Ask about our 2026 Football special: rent Friday and Saturday, get Thursday or Sunday for free. Only one discount per booking. Please ask for our football special as the VRBO software cannot automatically do this.

Enjoy our private hot tub on the property overlooking the lake! This is the perfect family getaway for some good old fashioned fun or a special place to find peace and solace for the weekend. We have all year-round water at Treasure Cove and the water is always clear! Not to mention the fish -- they love to sun themselves by our handcrafted sea wall. Want to enjoy a lazy time on the lake? Perched on its own point, this charming 1950's cottage is just like what you remember from your childhood complete with 1000 square feet of wraparound screened in porch. Boasting 600 feet of gorgeous lakefront, the outside will knock your socks off! The rock seawall has five large openings where you can walk right into the water. There is one dock for your boats and one swimming platform. With plenty of outdoor space, you can enjoy beach volleyball in our lakeside court, late night campfires in our massive fire circle and picnics down by the lake. The kids will love sleeping on the beds located on the porch - our kids did and now our grand kids do! Great for families, fishing and hunting excursions or a peaceful retreat. We have done a beautiful job of landscaping and creating a special 'get away from it all' atmosphere. There is also our own boat ramp that works best for smaller trailers and 18 foot boats. Want to catch movies and sports on TV? Check out our flat screen high resolution TV. Satellite offers you an abundance of programming and movies including ESPN. High-speed internet access plus wifi available.

We're an easy drive to Auburn football games, hiking trails on the lake and the river and a wide range of excellent dining opportunities.

Property is free from artificial fragrance and uses natural products. We are conveniently located in the Anchor Bay/Kowaliga area on its own point in Treasure Cove. The house was built by Aubrey's grandfather. Once you see it, you'll be back ... again and again!

Available for two night minimum. Holiday minimums for 2026 as follows: 4 night minimum for Labor Day and Thanksgiving, 5 night minimum for Memorial Day and 7 night minimum for Independence Day. June and July 2026 have a minimum of 5 nights until 4/1/27. Thereafter, there is 2 night minimum excluding holidays listed above. Cleaning fee: $195. Plus taxes. Ask about events such as weddings and anniversary parties. It's a beautiful setting for a small event!! Pet fee $50 per dog; please contact Shari about additional pets. The views are amazing. Was perfect for our group. We loved hearing the owls at night and geese in the mornings. We even watched an eagle catch a fish just off the dock, amazing! It’s an older cottage but brought back memories of staying with my grandparents as a child.

I rented Aubrey's Lakewood Cabin so that I could host my niece's Sweet 16 Birthday Party. I needed somewhere with enough space to entertain a lot of teenagers. The teens had an absolute blast! Some even got into the cold lake water, which I anticipated would happen! My family enjoyed the beauty of the well maintained property. We set up a game of cornhole and horseshoes on the beach area and waved at boaters that came by. The cabin was perfect and the screened-in porch came in handy with its two sleeping futons. In the evening, we enjoyed the fire pit area and the hot tub.I would recommend this property to everyone looking for a nice, quite, relaxing, getaway! Windy

The place was absolutely fantastic! The screened in porch was so wonderful to relax on and enjoy time with family. The amount of water front access you have is incredible and the steps down into the water are wonderful for accessing the lake. Its location to marinas and restaurants is wonderful as well. I am Aubrey Thomas Hornsby, Jr. -- actually Aubrey Hornsby III in a line of five Aubreys! I love Alabama, family and community and Shari and I offer our cabin so that others can enjoy what I had growing up - fun, beauty, family, good food and love staying at my grandfather's house on the lake every summer with my brother and sisters. Those were exciting times and still there are five generations of Aubreys that live on.

Why they chose this property

This property has been in the family for years! Aubrey the first built this glorious cabin for his family and it has been passed down through the generations. Now, Aubrey V is enjoying the fruits of his great great grandfather.

What makes this property unique

We welcome you to Lakewood. Perhaps it’s the lay of the land, the point’s gentle gesture towards water and sky. The place has always felt sacred to me. It’s all about family and the generations: the Old South. I remember when every house was full of kids, cousins, elders. We rocked and played for hours while the fish were caught, the burgers grilled, the ice cream firmed up; till everyone was there. Swimming, conversation, sheer joy of life. That’s how it was…and still is… at Lakewood.

It gives me great satisfaction to read the comments of our guests; to sense that this place has revealed something of itself to another family. That a relationship has been built and that the feeling is mutual.

There’s plenty to do. We encourage you to use our beach volleyball court at the water’s edge, relax in the hot tub, boat the 750 miles of Lake Martin’s shoreline, islands and coves (we have our own boat ramp). Ski, jet ski, windsurf, fish (or just watch the large mouth bass moseying along our 600 feet of antique sea wall), cruise Lake Martin’s new extravagant homes, hike or ride the 80 miles of trails along the lake’s cliffs and woodland vales. Discover the charm and friendly people of our surrounding towns of Eclectic, Dadeville, Alexander City, Wetumpka, and Tallassee. Don’t miss the Chicken Auction or the Red Hill music hall renditions every Friday night and all our local festivals, gatherings, and churches. We now have the best high end restaurants imaginable and the finest funky dining that Alabamians love. You will be staying on Treasure Cove on Alabama’s Treasure Lake. Our water is always clear and clean. But most of all fall into the grace and magic, the peaceful delight of Lakewood.
