Tucked away in the forest, but just moments from Fontana Lake, Forest Lake Cabin is just the spot for your Bryson City vacation. Make sure to pack your fishing poles, kayaks, or paddle boards as this large log cabin is within a mile from the Almond Boat Dock, what a great place to make many summer time mountain memories.

Forest Lake Cabin is a three bedroom, three bath cabin that sleeps up to eight guests. This spacious cabin has plenty of room where you can travel together, yet not feel right on top of one another.. The large covered porches allow for a peaceful spot to take your morning coffee while listening to the leaves rustle on the trees. If you're looking to unwind after a long day of adventuring, take a dip in the hot tub, or relax around the firepit. Indoors, the living room is large with vaulted ceilings, rocked gas log fireplace, flatscreen with satellite service, and comfortable furnishings. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready to make a meal right at the cabin. There is a bedroom on the main floor, which features a queen sized bed, tv, and storage space. The bath on the main floor has a walk-in shower. Upstairs you will find additional living space with a game room space in the open loft. For guest enjoyment, there is an air hockey table, foosball table, TV, workspace, additional seating, and for convenience a bath with tub/shower combo. Downstairs you'll find the additional sleep quarters with two bedrooms. One is equipped with a queen sized bed with TV, the other has a queen bed, bunk bed, and tv. There is also a bath on this level with walk in shower and washer/dryer.

Forest Lake is conveniently located just off of Almond Boat Dock Road, which is about 10 minutes west of Bryson City. It's the perfect spot if you'd like to go kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, swimming, or mountain biking, as Fontana Lake access and Tsali Biking Trails are just around the corner. It is also located closely to the Nanatahala River Gorge where you can find whitewater kayaking, ziplining, and horseback riding. Downtown Bryson City is just a 10 minute drive, where you will find the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, Deep Creek access to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and many local shops, restaurants, and breweries.

Good but could be amazing

It was a nice property but really could use some TLC. Let’s start with the cons. For supposedly having it cleaned before we arrived, the property was not the cleanest, floors were dirty, shower was not clean, the dishes in the cabinet were dirty, as I was taking them out they were all covered with coffee, and other food. The dishwasher was filled when we got there (we were on vacation not at home to have to unload the dishwasher upon arriving). The dryer was filled with towels (again, on vacation, not here to work and do chores). There was not a starter pack for anything such as a dishwasher pod or laundry detergent yet the checkout instructions asked us to run both. The nearest store was about 30 minutes away to purchase those items. The hand soap provided in the kitchen was watered down. The pans for the oven were dirty. The microwave handle was pretty much breaking off. The AC upstairs is on a switch and does not work properly. In the garage downstairs there is a new unit which may be for the upstairs but not sure. In the garage downstairs there was a huge water tank that was leaking, we called and were told not to worry about it. If you’re planning on using the fireplace do not flip the switch on the upstairs unit, it creates suction through the flue and had smoke coming inside. Once we shut the switch it was fine. Pros: The property outside is well maintained, hot tub was nice. View was great. Large space. Comfortable bed.
