1 star house - 5 star locationHouse has lived its best life and should now be demolished and something proper built. This location deserves so much better than this dilapidated mess.
Location was excellent, right on the beach. We felt like we had our own private beach. House sits above beach level so privacy on the deck and front rooms was great. It's on a busy street but when out on the deck or on the beach you would never know it. There is some construction going on the street which would have been nice to know when we booked. Made getting out of the driveway a little dicey. But overall we really enjoyed our stay.
This was a nice little MCM home built in the 50s. Overall everything was functional and the views of the beach were excellent. The deck on the back of the house leading to the beach is in rough shape. I got a splinter pretty easily on the first day and after that we always wore sandals or shoes back there. The house is advertised with a 'Tesla Charger' which is not accurate. The house does have a dedicated circuit to bring your own charger and plug in which is nice. Because Tesla makes a charger for homes I did not bring any type of travel charger. Luckily FPL had a charging station down by the Publix we used when we arrived and left. This was our first trip with an EV so the charger was actually one of the reasons we rented the home (besides the location/view).This is a good beach bungalow for a smaller family or party with direct beach access which was great. We spent many hours at the beach when the weather cooperated The views are phenomenal but it needs just a few tweaks to make it truly excellent.
The host went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The immediate access to such a lovely part of the beach is delightful. We especially enjoyed the sleeping porch and listening to the ocean as we fell asleep and woke up. We will come back!
Pictures do not do justice. Have already referred friends as this place was/is incredible!

Thank you so much. it’s really my personal beach house. I rent it when i’m not around. The black and white photo over the staircase is my grandmother from the 1930’s. it’s a great relaxing spot, glad you enjoyed her! she was built in 1955.
We had an absolutely amazing time at this beach house. The home had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The kitchen had great cooking supplies, the beds were super comfortable, and the living spaces were bright and open with stunning ocean views. The location couldn’t have been better - just steps from the beach! We loved sitting out on the deck in the mornings with coffee and winding down in the evenings listening to the waves. The hosts were also wonderful to communicate with - responsive, thoughtful, and welcoming.
This home on the beach has everything you need and the location is great! 5 minutes to historic St. Augustine, minutes to great restaurants and a beach we nearly had to ourselves!
It’s quiet, a perfect location, and no crowds due to limited public access to the beach. A mere few minutes to Publix for all your grocery needs, and a short drive to many attractions in St. Augustine. Loved being able to walk out the door on to the beach. We took morning and evening walks. We’ll return to the house on our next trip.
Perfect location right on the sand with beautiful views of the Atlantic. We saw dolphins swim by. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Very close to St. Augustine and Anastasia Island. Spacious with a well stocked kitchen. Would stay here again.Would and An
We really enjoyed this unique house! It has every amenity we could possibly think of. The location was excellent! Very close to the activities of St Augustine but directly on the beach that was never crowded. Being in a big, clean, pet-friendly beach was the best! Our property manager was quick and easy to communicate with. We would highly recommend this house for others!
Great spot on quiet Vilano Beach. Beach is very much the home's back yard; no 'process' (ex- multiple access gates, codes to remember, long walks, etc) of getting down to the sand and water. Very easy to run-up to the house, if needed, making it great for those with younger kids. House as-advertised. Would definitely stay here again.
Stay was great! We have never been to St Augustine and we wanted to be able to walk out onto the beach. House was clean and all had room and comfortable beds. Has all you need and a great indoor porch to read when the heat of the day kicks in. Nice and close to St Augustine downtown and a food store 2 minutes down the stream. The beach is amazingly quiet and clean and the water was perfect. Loved to see the dolphins ever morning and evening.
Such an amazing location and a wonderful find. My whole family absolutely loved our week here! Everything about the listing was accurate. The house felt larger than the pictures showed and everything was very comfortable. The views here are absolutely amazing. We spent so much time on this trip enjoying the waves coming in and watching sunrises and sunset. The bonus of course was anytime we wanted, we were right on the beach. We absolutely will be back again! Thanks for a wonderful week!
This house was true to the description. It is spacious and comfortable. The large deck offers unobstructed views of the ocean with beautiful sunrises. The location is quiet and only a short drive to the bustling historic district of St. Augustine where you can enjoy all the tourist attractions as well as the beautiful lights of the Christmas season.
We did experience a couple of unexpected maintenance issues but Petra was responsive and they were resolved. We enjoyed our time and hope to return.
The property was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for. It's in a beautiful location and loved being able to walk off the back porch onto the sand. There's only one small flaw with the house - and I'm only mentioning it because it could be a safety hazard for someone. There are a couple of loose boards in the dining room area. It feels like the floor has rotted in that area and it's caving in. I am attaching pictures for reference. It wasn't a problem for us as we just avoided waking in that area but don't want the next guests to get hurt. We will definitely be looking for this same property when we come back to St. Augustine.

Hey Amy,
This is Jennifer, the owner of the property. We had a guest who decided to turn on the central bathtub and forgot about it. May have even gone to dinner?! Not sure but it ruined my floor. It has been booked and we have made sure it’s not going anywhere or dangerous and we plan to fix it during our down time. We have not had much down time this year so September will be our month. I have some 1950’s matching floor, too. So it’s not rotten, it has water damage. Our guest never let us know what happened either.
The cleaning people were actually let go because they couldn’t tell us which client did it.
I have almost taken it off the market because of issues such as these. It’s sad, I try to take care of other people’s property as if it was my own, some just don’t.
Sorry you had to deal with it,
Jennifer
Amazing location and view. I’ve been to many beach front houses and this location tops it all. 5 steps down and you’re on the beach. House is old but its got nice charm to it and is beautiful. We found no bugs at all so that was very nice.We loved this house so much it made us sad to leave. Two suggestions would make this house even better.1. So many light/fan switches it was very confusing. It would be nice if they were labeled.2. Charcoal grill was broken. Thats a must.
To watch the sea. It's literally right outside the house, at high tide you could be on a ship. Vilano is chill and a good spot for various day trips (such as Amelia Island, a really different feel from Jacksonville/St. Aug., very interesting). This month was our second time here. The house has a stylish beach vibe, comfortable furnishings, and everything we needed to eat in. It wasn't hard to find restaurants that deliver through Grub Hub during pandemic times. The rental process was efficient and house entry perfectly easy. All in all, couldn't be sorrier to be writing this back home!
