We really enjoyed the location and overall atmosphere of the property. Ethan was quick to respond with our questions and concerns. The property itself is needing a little TLC but we overall had a nice stay.

Great set up for teens

We took a group of 4 teenage girls on a spring break trip to Mountain paradise. The set up was perfect with the girls staying in the basement. They had their own space and we had ours. We loved the yard, the fire pit, the pretty lake, the boats the hot tub and the hammock. The views are beautiful and the setting is peaceful. The beds were comfy. There wasn’t anywhere to put our clothes, so I suggest bringing some hangers for the closets. It’s about a 2 mile drive up a gravel road to get to the cabin. We didn’t have any trouble in our SUV, but something to note.

This is a great home for people who enjoy the outdoors! The home really is as pictured. It is clean and well maintained. The home is a great launching point for boating on Lake Jocassee, visiting Brevard, hiking to many of the nearby waterfalls, tubing, etc. We did all of these! The onsite lake is fun for fishing and canoeing. Our stay was during the summer, so we didn't use the firepit, but it's quite nice. The hot tub is a good size and is on the lower level. Our stay included several teens who enjoyed staying downstairs in the bunk room. When we traveled it was a very hot week. The bunk room does not have a/c, so it was a little warm. Upon contacting, Ethan, he was super accommodating and offered assistance for dealing with the warmer than normal temps. If you're traveling in the summer and plan to have a good number of people staying on the lower level, I would consider bringing some extra fans and you'll be just fine. Some folks mentioned challenges with the road. In the summer, there are really no issues with traveling on the road. In the winter, you should be aware that it is almost a 2 mile windy uphill gravel road to this home. You need an SUV or truck. We found the beds and linens to be comfortable. The kitchen is smaller and a little challenging if you're trying to do a lot of cooking. The owner really does have a lot of cooking supplies, but it's challenging with renters to always keep pots and pans in prime condition. This is a great rental!

Pre-Christmas Stay

This mountain rental was just what we were looking for in a pre-Christmas weekend getaway. We wanted somewhere far enough away to be quiet and cozy, have enough inside to occupy us during our stay, and close enough to grab a morning coffee and shop in Brevard on our way out. The cabin sits toward the back of a gated community that was easily reached with my AWD vehicle. The neighborhood road is gravel throughout and might be difficult if you are in a non-AWD vehicle (especially in rain or snow). The cabin itself was clean, comfortable, and had all that we needed for cooking, sleeping and enjoying the hot tub. There were more houses around the lake (in the back) than I thought there would be, but none that were too close. The only improvement I would suggest is a privacy screen option that could be used during the daytime between the hot tub and the neighbor to the left (when facing the lake from the hot tub). The gravel road was great for walking each morning and the back decks overlooking Poplar Lake were perfect for lunch and evening drinks. The cabin is setup to comfortably house 2 or 10 people. As a blended family, we are already planning to bring the kids back during the summer. Overall, a great place and a great stay!

What a wonderful place. We really enjoyed our stay. Our dog loved the backyard. She actually stayed outside with us longer than she normally does at our own house. We enjoyed the fire pit and making s'mores also playing games at the kitchen table and on the back porch. The hot tub was nice for my husband and I to enjoy. My son's favorite part of all was definitely canoeing. My husband and I actually saw a white squirrel while out canoeing which really excited us. It was awesome to have that available to enjoy and with life jackets as well. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to make nightly meals. You can tell the house is a older one could use a little TLC to make even more awesome. The couch in the living room was a tad uncomfortable when having a lazy day watching TV. Overall it was a quiet, beautiful and very enjoyable time we had at the cabin and the surrounding area. Very convenient to Brevard which we took a day to explore and took in nearby waterfalls another day. Communication was quick and easy which is always appreciated.

The cabin was perfect for our getaway. Kitchen was well stocked (pots, pans, crockpot, toaster, spices, coffee pot). Lots of blankets and towels! The lake and kayaks were perfect for the kids to explore around. Campfire with string lights was cozy. Ethan was very responsive to questions. Will be back!

We have stayed at Line Runner Lake 4 times! In this particular house twice. This last time that we stayed one of the couch cushions was completely collapsed. We did notice the first time we stayed there The furniture is not very comfortable. The couch upstairs doesn’t stay together so it’s hard to sit down or stretch out and be comfortable. The downstairs couch is basically the same way. We loved going to Line Runner but this last visit also we were confronted by a couple neighbors that live there permanently that they are not happy about people renting houses there. We didn’t have this problem the first three times that we’ve stayed. It was pretty quiet, but you can definitely tell it’s now a VRBO location. Which is fine for us and anyone that wants to rent, but the neighbors(not next door but at the end of the lake) will definitely tell you they don’t like it. One man told my husband, my son and my son‘s friend for a good 30 minutes how he was disappointed in renters being there and that they started feeding the fish so even if you go there to fish it’s hard to catch one because the fish are already being fed. this is not this house’s fault by no means, but that was just our run in with him. But the porch is definitely nice with the hammock and just sitting out looking at the lake. We also like that they offer canoes and the little boat. Really only complaint was the couches. The owner is very easy to get a hold of and helpful.

A slice of mountain heaven

My only regret is not staying longer. This was the perfect little mountain paradise for our family of five and the cherry on top was we could bring our pups. They were in puppy paradise running around the fully fenced in back yard and absolutely loved playing in the lake, which was a first time for both dogs. The cabin was so quaint and clean and there was plenty of space in the basement for the older kids to hang out. We had amazing communication from the host and everything was seamless. We highly recommend this adorable place and we can’t wait to go back.

Fun Lake House

The home is a great location, close to many hikes and easy drive to Brevard. My kids loved using the boats on the lake and the home was very relaxing. The dock is not there anymore but the bank is sandy and easy to beach the boats on. Owner was very responsive to questions. Would definitely love to stay there again.

Gorgeous property, very comfy stay

We had a wonderful time at Poplar Lake Cabin! Very cozy, inside and beautiful outdoors. We made a lot of use out of the hot tub and yard area. It rained most of our stay, but we did get a window to use the fire pit and kayak/canoes for the lake behind the cabin. We can honestly say of all of the VRBO stays we have had, it was the best so far.We do hope to stay again in the future and highly recommend for anyone staying close to Brevard or that area.

Perfect for the family and pets

Due to a last minute cancellation at another place we reserved, we were fortunate to find this home available during our dates. The owner was quick to communicate regarding our questions. This was a perfect getaway for our family and two dogs. The view of the lake is gorgeous and the home fitting for our family. The kids loved their downstairs hangout. The parents loved the hot tub! The backyard is fully fenced and safe for our dogs. Read carefully about the drive into the cabin. It is gravel and tucked into the mountain. While driving to/ from the cabin, keep a watch for white squirrels, turkeys and deer!

Lake House

Lake House property had beautiful views of the lake with lots to do outside and inside including great hot tub. Appreciated that the property was kept very clean and also close to the State Parks, I would suggest that if you're renting a vehicle that you have an AWD or 4WD, the climb up the mountain is a bit steep...overall great trip looking forward to coming back!

Great family spot

This is a fun spot and great for families. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. Owner was very responsive to any questions we had. We enjoyed our stay and would stay in this home again. My kids loved it. We had 4 adults and 3 kids ages 2-9. The basement with bunk beds is great for kids. Plenty of space for pack n plays in basement too. The upstairs rooms were perfect for my in laws who have a harder time navigating stairs. The yard and extra activities at the house (hot tub, lake with fishing and kayaking, fire pit etc) really make this home great for families. The area is quiet, nestled in nature, away from the hustle and bustle but Brevard isn’t too far. The dirt/gravel road was much longer than I anticipated. We were in a van and fine but we may not have made it in the snow or really bad weather. The kitchen does not have much counter space. There is no pantry. The basement area has plenty of space. The upstairs area is tighter. There are gates on the outside steps. You need to bring a baby gate to keep littles off the steps inside the house, if you need it. The steps are hardwood. There is railing to hold onto.
