About this property

Mountain Getaway - Tamarack Ranch Home

Spend your time with an amazing view and peaceful surroundings! Home is situated on 50+ acres on a working ranch. We’ll have someone stop by daily for a quick tend to the cows out by the barn and ranch related work, but you’ll have the home all to yourself!
ABOUT THE PROPERTY:
Enjoy a peaceful stay in a rural setting. The home is situated on a working ranch with cows in the pasture and many farm-use outbuildings. You’ll experience surroundings full of nature and fresh mountain air. Get a taste of Montana life that you’ll want to come back to over and over again.

Nestled on the west side of the Bitterroot Valley, this home sits on over 50 surrounding acres of breathtaking views. Day hikes can be found just a few minutes away at Mill Creek Trailhead or Blodgett Creek Trail. You’ll have the advantage of seclusion, with amenities nearby.

The small city of Hamilton is a historic “Hallmark-like” town just a short 15 mins down the road if needed. It’s filled with quaint shops, unique eateries and sporting goods stores to tend to your adventures.

Here at Tamarack Ranch you’ll get to escape that city life and enjoy the pleasantries of country life. Sit back on the deck and savor the sunset each evening as it goes down over the mountain range. A keen eye can spot birds and other wildlife. The summertime offers seasonal active creeks throughout the property as well as a small pond that attract ducks and geese. There will be cows off in the pasture, so please be respectful of the animals. We do have someone come by to tend to the cows daily, but their visits are short and ranch work related.

Our home can comfortably sleep 6 adults, with a MAXIMUM GUEST CAPACITY OF 8. (Additional overnight guest charges apply after the standard 6 and will show on the reservation quote). Please ensure you enter in correct guest count to get an accurate reservation quote.

*Please note that only the guests you enter on your reservation are permitted on the premises. Any other guests or visitors need to have prior approval whether they stay the night or not*

The home itself is equipped with 4 bedrooms. Primary bedroom with king bed is located on main floor. Second bedroom is located on main floor and includes two twin beds (one is a rollout trundle). Second bedroom also includes a desk for work space and could double as additional clothing storage if needed. Third and fourth bedrooms are located on the lower (daylight walkout basement) level. Each of these have a queen bed, dresser and walk in closet. All bedrooms rooms are equipped with ceiling fans, soothing sound machines, and portable window fans (located in each closet). Although the home is NOT equipped with central AC, we do have three roll away portable AC units that can easily be installed in the upstairs level upon request prior to your arrival during the summer months.

The lovely kitchen has a cozy farmhouse vibe, with beautiful granite countertops and ample cooking space. The connected dining area has a gorgeous view of the mountains and has seating for up to 8.

The large main floor living room makes for a wonderful spot to gather around for a movie or conversation. The downstairs den offers a cozy retreat to read a book or watch TV.

Additionally, we do have a couple hall closets and one additional small room (not included with the listing) that will be locked during your stay. These contain our personal effects as we still visit our home often.

Outside, we offer a fire pit for your enjoyment during spring and summer months. Enjoy a cozy retreat by a fire to have s’mores and star gaze. Post up for lunch at the outdoor picnic table. Enjoy an evening dinner on the covered deck dining table. We also have a peaceful patio with rocking chairs to enjoy a warm cup of coffee outside the walkout basement level.

Our property is a wonderful place for families to visit that allows kiddos to experience the great outdoors. There are seasonal creeks and a small pond on property. They can only be accessed beyond the fenced pasture area. If children are left unattended and manage to walk down to the water areas, it poses a drowning risk. Inside the home is not baby/toddler proof as decor/furnishings can be a hazard. We do not have outlet covers. Please be sure that children do have adult supervision at all times both indoors and outdoors.

For those travelling with children, we do provide a clip on high chair, kids plates, cups and utensils. Additionally, we provide a baby gate for the indoor stairwell, a pack n play and a baby monitor.

Please note there are exterior cameras positioned around home perimeter and entry points, as well as the outbuildings and fire pit area.

TRAVELING WITH AN RV OR CAMPER???
Please inquire! We have 30 and 50 amp RV power. Please message us and we can tailor your stay specific for your group! Additional rates do apply for RV/Camper hookup.
*** We do not have a dump station***

Please feel free to message with any questions and we will be happy to answer! We'd love for you to enjoy a little slice of what we cherish at this property!

GUEST ACCESS:
You’ll have private access to the main residence. We do have a small bedroom (not included in listing description) and a couple storage closets in the hallway of the basement level that are kept locked. These are the only private, non-guest use spaces in the home.

The exterior area of the property has several other outbuildings. These are not for guest use or access. We do not have anyone else living on property, but we do have our ranch manager come on site once or twice a day briefly to check on the cows, feed, etc. Their visit is brief and there is no interaction required (unless you want to say hi!).

You are invited to explore the property, but please do not enter any exterior outbuildings, corrals or pastures beyond the fencing which directly surround the home and adjacent outdoor space. Prior to arrival we can advise if exploring the pasture acreage is permitted based on current location of livestock.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
Please note our home, like many in the Bitterroot Valley, is not equipped with Central A/C. We do have portable AC units available for the main floor level during the peak summer months. The lower level stays a cool temperature even during the hottest part of the year.

Please be sure to read our property rules and ensure you are comfortable with them before sending a booking request. Could Not Have Been Any Better!

Absolutely loved this property and very impressed with the owners. The home is beautifully decorated, very warm and inviting, and well equipped. Back porch offers wonderful views of the mountains as well as the surrounding farm land. The farm itself is fun as there are cows, multiple buildings including a really unique old barn. Location is convenient to town, yet far enough away to be in the country. Highly, highly recommend this property and look forward to returning next year!

Absolutely Perfect

I've been staying in VRBO's at least every other month, 6 times a year or more for the past 12-15 years and let me tell you, overall this home is the best I've had the opportunity to stay in. The hosts communication and kindness was well above expectations. The home was clean and very well stocked. The property was beautiful, quite and everything we were looking for in a peaceful vacation. Grocery stores and restaurants were around 10 minutes away and the Missoula airport around an hour away. I would definitely stay here again!

A Real Montana Ranch

We loved staying at this beautiful, Montana ranch. The location was out enough to be able to enjoy the wildlife and mountain views, but close enough in to enjoy the town of Hamilton. The home is beautifully appointed (just like the pictures), and was immaculate. The kitchen was well stocked with the necessary cookware and the linens and furnishings were first class. We were all VERY comfortable whether upstairs or down. My husband and I walked this beautiful property, and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and solitude. If I could give Robyn a 10 for communication, I would. All inquiries were answered immediately. She was extremely helpful with local information from recommending a fishing guide to a shuttle service back to the airport. We would definitely recommend and return!

Clean and Comfy

We stayed at this property for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The property owners were very responsive, the house was very clean and cozy and had pretty much everything we needed. I appreciated that they had stuff for young kids, such as a baby gate and kid cups, plates, etc. eve
