This is a uniquely laid out property, well appointed with high quality items. The local/indigenous artwork is awesome! Easy process for check-in/check-out.
We stayed four six days and used this rental as a base as we toured southern Vancouver island. The apartment is beautifully appointed and the patio has a beautiful view and a wonderful fireplace which we used evening.
Charming suite with beautiful views of the water. Up to date finishes, newly installed hot tub, and a fire pit (that we unfortunately couldn't take advantage of, due to the fire ban). Grill works great and is directly connected to the gas line, so it heats up incredibly quick!Do note that there is an upper and lower floor, so you may be staying with other guests. We lucked out with only one night of overlap, so it was very quiet for us. Only negatives are the small bathroom (6" shower), and that the stove didn't have a vent above it.
This is a nice property. It is very well equipped, comfortable, has above average decor and furniture. The beds were comfortable and the bed linens and towels were great. The upstairs suite was occupied for some of our stay and it was a bit noisy but not overly so. We had a couple of minor issues while we were there but the property management company was very responsive. The outside patio was lovely and we enjoyed sitting and looking at the ocean.
House was cold and it took until the next day until floor got comfortable warm.
Nice location but maybe noisy if people were in the upper half of the house.

Liked: Cleanliness, communication, location
6 ft tall shower. We are over six foot. Thus uncomfortable
Very cold upon arrival. Not clear how to make it warmer. Had to figure it out ourselves. Single pane bedroom windows and no shade on one of the bedroom windows.
Beautiful view, gorgeous home, lovely bedrooms and kitchen appliances, outstanding dishes, cutlery, and cookware.First time dealing with a management company and using an app to check in, being a senior I found it somewhat confusing. The door timer hasn’t been adjusted for the time change, fortunately we didn’t get locked out. We enjoyed our stay and had fun at the Sip and Shop held in town. Thank you.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities, communication
All together this trip was not a good experience. Right from the start in February, too many agencies got involved in the process: Expedia, VRBO, EMR. EMR was experiencing software problems which resulted in receiving several contradicting information about our payments and reservations. I had to phone around a dozen of times EMR to get accurate informations. Finally even on the day of arrival the AC was not working. We had during our stay two unannounced visitor: one was the jacuzzi maintenance guy (he came through a locked gate in the fence in the middle of the afternoon as we were enjoying our peace) and an older man who came knocking to the door looking the owner who was supposedly an old friend of his.
There is no ventilation over the stove and cooking fumes had nowhere to go. No ventilation in the bathroom. The landscape has not been done as wild blackberry thorny vines were growing and invading a good section of the patio.
We stayed at this property from August 28 to 31. Unfortunately, both the hot tub and the EV charger were out of service for our entire stay. These were the two main reasons we chose this rental, even though it was more expensive than other options, so it was very disappointing not to be able to use them at all.We reported the issues to EMR Vacation Rentals right from the first day. On the second day, they told us a technician would come between 4–6 pm, so we stayed at the house to wait, but no one showed up. After we followed up again on the third day, they sent someone, which meant we had to spend another half day at the property waiting. Unfortunately, the technician could not fix either problem. At the end, we only received a small partial refund (around 10%), which did not reflect the inconvenience of losing these important amenities. On top of this, we had to look for charging station at public stations every day. There were also some smaller issues inside the house, such as the bathroom lock not working, spiderwebs in some closets and around the house , and a very loose closet handle. While the view from the house was nice, overall the experience was disappointing because of the high price and in return unresolved issues and limited compensation.
