Our Family came to SML to celebrate our Son’s Graduation from Ferrum College. We had Family gather at this house which was amazing. The Owner was great to work with and answered all of our questions promptly. Would definitely stay again.
This house was wonderful for our group. It is so large and accommodated everyone so well. Two kitchens (the main one upstairs and another in the basement with a fridge and stove). So many bathrooms that mornings were a breeze! The setting is beautiful too with gorgeous landscaping and dock. Kitchen was also stocked with everything you'd need! Highly recommend!!
Excellent location and house for 3 families with kids and grandparents. Centrally located to food and marinas. Prompt response and communication with the host.
Lawgom is a beautiful home with a great view of Smith Mountain Lake. Each of the 7 bedrooms had its own bath which was very much appreciated by all staying at the house. The kitchen is well laid out and the dining area and table easily accommodated 10 adults. We found the kitchen to be well appointed but could use a better cutting board and better knives. The furniture in the main level and lower level living rooms is comfortable but aging. some of the deck chairs are showing wear in the seats with some broken webbing. The shower knob in the master bath on the main floor fell off, missing the barrel screw to hold it in place. These "flaws" are minor and did not detract from our visit. Overall, the house is in great shape, very clean, and we would gladly stay again.
We enjoyed our time at Lagom at the Lake. The house is beautiful and easily accommodated the 9-12 adults throughout the week. Upon arrival, we contacted Host Matthew about a need. He responded immediately and had it taken care of very quickly. I highly recommend Lagom at the Lake.
The house was spacious and comfortable for a group of 8…the kitchen had all the necessary items to cook. The only problem was that the dishwasher wasn’t working (the owner did notify us before we arrived), so we had to bring paper products. The beds were comfortable. The lake views were beautiful with peak leaf colors. It was a very good place to gather for such a special celebration!
Beautiful property overlooking a quiet part of Smith Mountain Lake. Perfect fit for our group of 14 with bedrooms and bathrooms to fit everyone! We are looking forward to going back!
Gorgeous house and view from the patio. House has great space for large gathering. 14 of us stayed and we had plenty of space at all times. The outside needed a good cobweb removal around the windows etc. The inside was very clean!
Overall the house is quite lovely and spacious and accommodated our 14 family members Several issues arose during our stay and the manager responded quickly with solutions for the most part. We enjoyed a great week of swimming and boating and spending time relaxing on the dock.
We had an amazing stay at Lagom at the Lake. This house was incredible. Plenty of room for everyone.Great view of the lake. Kitchen was perfect for a large group. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we need for cooking. Matthew was very helpful with whatever we needed. We will definitely rent this house again.
Everything was beautiful. The home was spacious and well appointed. Highly recommend a stay here! Just one disappointment was the lack of a hot tub. It was listed in the description, but no where to be found on the property. Having to haul the trash 5 miles to the dump was a minor inconvenience, but nothing that would keep me from coming back.
The family had an amazing weekend at SML. The house, location and amenities were fantastic. Even with bad weather the family spent time together and talking out by the water. On the day with good weather the family spent the morning down at the dock enjoying the lake and beautiful views. Would be perfect for multiple families for a long weekend or even longer.
Loved it and looking forward to doing it again. Great memories for all.
This is the second year staying in this house for Thanksgiving. It is perfect for our family. There are plenty of bedrooms and spaces to hang out. The main kitchen is a dream to cook in. Having a second kitchen in the basement is perfect for those things that take a long time to cook as well as the extra counter prep space and fridge. The dining table fits everyone so we can all relax and enjoy our meal together.
The view of the lake is fantastic and the patio makes it a lovely space to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. On clear nights there is minimal ambient light so perfect for stargazing.
The owner was very responsive to communications with a couple minor issues we had. He was very friendly and helpful.
We look forward to spending future Thanksgivings here when possible.
We spent a weekend at this beautiful home and enjoyed ourselves immensely! The house was very clean and the kitchen very well equipped. The view of the lake was amazing from all 3 floors! We rented a boat from a nearby marina recommended by the property owner and that was great too! The cove is quiet and the kids enjoyed swimming off the dock! There is lots of outdoor furniture, both on the deck and on the dock, and we found ourselves eating most of our meals on the deck. Matthew was super responsive! We would definitely stay here again!

9th yearly visit as a family.
Property is very spacious and can accommodate large families. Great location on the lake geographically, although its does have an issue with Geese and being at the end of a cove this is not the best. Appliances are ample , but outdated ( some did not work well, if at all). Dock is small and does not accommodate the docking of your rentals very well( only two cleats on the floating dock.) We had a large pontoon style and a jet ski. They took up most of the swim areas at the dock. It is lacking some of the common items for lake properties such as fire pits and dock furniture. Listing misrepresents that there is a hot tub, but there is not one. They call a tub in a bathroom that you can put hot water in a hot tub! Management was great and responsive.
The house was just right for 7 friends who gather twice a year. It's well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen has high end appliances. Communication was quick and easy. There were just 7 of us but it would easily accommodate more with 7 bedrooms and 2 full kitchens. The view is gorgeous.
Room for 7 couples! Great area, home and lake views!
We had the best time! This home was just what we were looking for. We just wish we could have stayed longer. The kitchen was amazingly stocked. Huge Great Room on entry level, plus D/R, Eat-in Kitchen, Office, Laundry Rm, and Primary Suite. 3 more B/R's up. Downstairs had a 2nd Kitchen, and a huge TV, perfect for the guys. 3 more B/R's. Altogether
6.5 Baths. We just loved this home. Hoping to go back in the near future.
Maybe in the warmer weather. Highly recommend!
