About this property

Cocoa Beach Home Base for Work and Winter Stays, Steps to Beach and Publix

A renovated 2BR condo in the center of Cocoa Beach, set up for living, not just visiting. Built for Space Coast work assignments, snowbird winters, and anyone staying a week or a month. 500 Mbps WiFi, a desk setup, full kitchen, in-unit washer and dryer, heated pool, private beach gate, and Publix a short walk away. Guests regularly stay for weeks and months at a time.

This isn’t a hotel room. It’s a fully furnished home in the center of Cocoa Beach, set up for people who are here to live for a while. The beach, Publix, restaurants, and coffee are all a short walk, and Port Canaveral, the Cape, and Patrick Space Force Base are an easy drive.

EVERYTHING A LIVED-IN HOME HAS
Everything you’d expect to find in a home that someone actually lives in, you’ll find here. And if you need something you don’t see, just ask. There’s a good chance we already have it on hand.

QUIET, COOL, AND COMFORTABLE
The condo sits in a second-floor corner of an already quiet building, and insulated storm windows make it silent inside, day or night. That matters whether you’re sleeping after a night shift or taking calls at noon. A brand new AC system keeps it cool year-round. The primary bedroom has a queen bed, a 50-inch TV, a full bedroom set, and an easy chair. The second bedroom has a full-size bed, so two colleagues can each have their own room. The living room has an oversized couch and a 65-inch TV with cable and Roku, and an air mattress is available for a fifth guest.

A KITCHEN YOU’LL ACTUALLY COOK IN
The kitchen is fully stocked from day one: pots and pans, baking sheets, blender, toaster, microwave, oven and stove, dishwasher, Keurig, and a refrigerator with an ice maker and filtered water. Publix is a short walk away, so restocking takes minutes.

LAUNDRY AND THE BASICS
The in-unit washer and dryer means you can pack for a week and stay for a month. Linens, towels, hangers, an iron, clothing storage, and a drying rack are all here, along with a starter supply of toiletries, paper goods, and cleaning products to get you settled.

BUILT FOR WORK
500 Mbps WiFi handles video calls, VPN, and large file transfers. A foldable desk and office chair can be set up wherever you like to work, and a monitor is available on request. Self check-in with a personal keypad code means you can land late and walk straight in. Free on-site parking for up to two vehicles.

DRIVE TIMES (approximate)
Cape Canaveral Hospital (Health First): about 7 minutes
Port Canaveral: about 15 minutes
Patrick Space Force Base: about 25 minutes
Blue Origin, Merritt Island: about 30 minutes
Kennedy Space Center: about 30 to 35 minutes
Melbourne Orlando International Airport: about 35 minutes
Orlando International Airport: about 50 minutes

WINTER ON THE SPACE COAST
January here averages highs around 70 degrees. The resort pool is heated year-round, the beach is through a private gate less than 100 yards from your door, and most errands are walkable. If you’re trading a northern winter for a month or three by the ocean, this is an easy place to settle in. Winter months book early.

AFTER HOURS
When the workday ends, the resort does the rest: heated pool, tennis, pickleball, bocce, shuffleboard, and a private boardwalk to the beach with an outdoor rinse shower. Your own beach chairs, towels, and cooler bag are in the condo, ready when you are. Watch launches from the sand, or walk to dinner.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The Diplomat sits in the center of Cocoa Beach, where daily life is easy on foot. Publix, restaurants, coffee, and bars are a short walk, and the beach is through a private gate behind the building. Cocoa Beach Pier and Ron Jon Surf Shop are about 5 minutes by car.

This is the Space Coast’s working beach town. Engineers, launch crews, and contractors from SpaceX, NASA, Blue Origin, and Patrick Space Force Base live and work nearby, and Port Canaveral is 15 minutes up the road. Rocket launches are visible right from the beach.

Weekends fill themselves: kayak the Banana River, take a surf lesson, visit Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex about 30 minutes north, or make a day of Orlando’s theme parks about an hour away.

About the host

Hosted by Scott Sklar

Host profile image

I'm Scott, and I manage this home personally, with no property manager and no middlemen. My family moved to Florida during the pandemic, planning to ride it out and head back north. We never left. I live about 20 minutes from the condo, so help is close by, and I answer quickly when you need anything.

Why they chose this property

Because you can live here without starting your car most days. It's the center of Cocoa Beach: Publix, restaurants, coffee, and the beach are all walkable, and you can watch rocket launches from the sand. It's quiet at night and close to everything during the day.

What makes this property unique

It's a fully renovated home inside a classic Cocoa Beach resort: new kitchen, new bedrooms and mattresses, brand new AC, insulated storm windows that keep it silent inside, and in-unit laundry, with a heated pool and a private beach gate outside. Guests come back year after year, and many stay for weeks at a time.
