About this property

Romantic Cabin Getaway

Located north of Leakey in Rancho Real, this cabin is ideal for a romantic getaway vacation. The cabin overlooks Bluff Creek which feeds into the west prong of the Frio River.
Enjoy listening to the water flowing from the private dam spillway. The deck is perfect just for hanging out, watching the fish and birds below, or entertaining and cooking on the grill.
Just added: Awesome Palapa with hanging bed, hanging chair, lights, fan, Alexa and unbelievable view.
NOTE: This property is not suitable for children.
The very charming cabin can sleep 3. There is a very comfortable queen bed, and a single sleeper sofa with a memory foam topper. There is a small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, dishes, and utensils. Also, Fire television with Direct TV, ceiling fans, A/C, and electric fireplace. Furnished in rustic decor, it boasts a beautiful large stained glass window emitting soft light into the room.
Very nice decks and a private hot tub, out door shower.
This property location IS NOT for motorcycles.
Upon your arrival, enjoy wine waiting for you in the cabin.
Wifi calling on your cell otherwise...
Cell phone service is not available due to being in the canyon, however; there is a phone in the cabin

We had a truly wonderful weekend stay at this peaceful cabin retreat!The space felt incredibly relaxing and serene from the moment we arrived. The cabin is thoughtfully designed and creates such a special, calming atmosphere—it’s clear a lot of care went into making it feel like a perfect escape.The weather was beautiful, and we loved keeping the windows open at night, falling asleep to the gentle flow of the river nearby. It was incredibly soothing and made the whole experience even more magical.We spent time hiking the trails right on the property, which were scenic and easy to explore, and we couldn’t resist dipping our feet in the cool river water—such a refreshing highlight!Chris was an outstanding host—responsive, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making sure everything was perfect. The special touch she’s brought to this place truly shines through.We’d highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature. The cabin was very cozy and peaceful. Chris was a tentative host and we had an enjoyable weekend. Panda was an excellent hiking guide and the hot tub felt amazing after a day of hiking at Garner State Park. It was a cold weekend so we didn't get to enjoy the outside lounging but we hope to go back take advantage! :)

I am ready to go back to this couple’s retreat! When I was there, I was able to enjoy the present moment wherever we happened to be, whether it was the cabin, the deck and hanging bed, the paddle boat, or hiking. The sound of the water falling through the dam was a constant source of relaxation. The cabin was perfectly clean, cozy, and comfortable for the two of us. Everywhere we went, inside and outside, there was so much to see—the mix of art and nature. The privacy made this place a much needed escape and restful place to be. Chris is a thoughtful host who went out of her way to make sure we were experiencing everything her place in Leakey has to offer. Her dogs are friendly too and hiked with us and jumped around in the river. This place is so awesome! We will definitely return.

Much Needed Stay

Awesome hosts, beautiful property, super clean, calming, the property dogs were helpful and adorable, the vibe is out of this world. It was romantic and adventurous. The comfort and surroundings of the outdoor bed was phenomenal. Everything you need is in the house offered by the super hosts. The attention to detail is superb. We will be going there again.

15 year anniversary

The property was beautiful and Gary was a great host. Everything we needed was there. All we had to bring was food and drink. The place was very unique I think we enjoyed every moment there. Got to talk to Gary a couple of times and really enjoyed meeting him. Great guy. The only downside to this property if there is one would be more seclusion. There was more people and traffic nearby than I would have liked. Other than that we loved it and would definitely do it again. Thank you for opening your place up to us.

perfect space, perfect surroundings, perfect hosts, perfect weekend! we enjoyed the hiking & seclusion, and we're definitely going back! recommend a truck if you have one, some area roads are dirt & gravel, but definitely navigable (we just wanted to explore more). we really don't wanna spread the word on this hidden paradise, but we can't NOT share how awesome it is. thanks Chris, for everything!

Great getaway!

The cabin is really cute and comfortable. It is small, but who wants to stay inside for long when the outside is so wonderful?!Chris and Gary are great hosts. They want you to feel at home, but are not intrusive in the least. It was great watching the hummingbirds and getting away from the city. My husband and I loved it!

This is a nice hidden gem. It was fun having to follow the written directions to get there. Chris and Gary were great hosts. Tons of birds to see. So serene. Hot tub was amazing too. We would visit again.

Relaxing stay

The property, host, and animals were very welcoming. We loved relaxing, listening to natural surroundings and totally decompressing. We had planned to day trip to some parks but found once we got to the cabin, we didnt want to leave. We were able to hike around the property and area and enjoyed paddle boating but most of all loved just disconnecting from the day to day and reconnecting with each other. Definitely one of our favorite stays!!

Peace and Tranquility

It was just what we needed. Wonderful property and a comfortable stay. We loved having happy wagging tails greet us when we arrived. The cabin was adorable! The highlight had to be the hanging bed patio. Listening to the water falling and gazing at the autumn colors from the patio was perfection!

Exceeded Our Expectations

When we found this property, we were looking for something unique and off the beaten path. We like a quiet stay, non-touristy, and a home away from home. This was a perfect getaway that more than met all of our guiderails. Everything was neat and clean and we just felt so relaxed. We cooked together on the outdoor grill, enjoyed very good wine, and relaxed in the hot tub. The view was spectacular, the sounds of the trickling water from the dam made for some much needed relaxing naps, and the fire pit made our evenings into a fine dining experience. We were also able to catch up on some good reading on the outdoor floating bed, not to mention some pretty awesome bird watching. We hiked the trail that led to the top of the property accompanied by 3 very experienced canine tour guides - Panda, Roady & Boone, who showed us a breathtaking view. All in all this was one of the best vacation experiences that we've had, and we look forward to doing this again one day. Thank you!

A Paradise Get Away Gem

The cabin is surrounded by nature with waterfalls,birds and beautiful trees. It is extremely peaceful . We enjoyed the palapa area with the swinging bed. Cabin was fully stocked with all the needed amenities along with a hot tub and separate outside patio for grilling. Location of cabin is off the highway but yet close enough to be able to run into town if needed. Hostess was always available and extremely helpful for any questions. questions. So glad we found this gem and will certainly come back.
