Great condo, very clean when we arrived. Loved the amenities provided including a beach wagon and boogie boards for the kids! We walked to the beach club several times with four kids under 10 years old so close enough to walk!
We truely had a wonderful visit and would highly recommend this condo. The location and grounds are spectacular giving the tropical feel. The beach club such a nice option. We can't say enough nice things about this fabulous property. We were sad to leave and can't wait too come back.
The location is incredible! So tranquil and serene. What a joy to wake up to the sounds of tropical birds as you sip local coffee on the private lanai. 100% would book again!!
The kitchen and outdoor grill/lanai were both well equipped and yielded a number of great meals! The pass to Mauna Lani Club was great (one of our favorite snorkeling spots), and if you prefer to walk, only 15 minutes past the fish ponds. The salt water pool with waterfall and the hot tub made a great way to end the day. Puako and Mauna Kea beaches are short drives and also great snorkeling. Don’t miss the Blue Dragon Musiquarium a short drive north — it hosts great music and food 4 nights per week!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Sharing the fresh and delicious island food as a family is particularly important to us, so we really appreciated the BBQ on the lanai and spacious dining areas. Great location and amenities, and excellent communication with the host. We would definitely return.
This condo was perfect for our family of four! The location is great with a grocery store, restaurants, walking trail and beach all within walking distance. The condo is fully stocked with everything you need, from the kitchen to the beach equipment, it's all there! We will definitely stay here again!
Jefferson’s place was everything we were looking for on the Big Island. It was especially helpful that a crib, high chair, and beach wagon was all included - made it so much easier given we were traveling with young kids! The location couldn’t be better. We walked to the beach every day!
The location was in a nice community and a few miles down the road was another community with more shops. The unit was fully stock with everything we need to cook prepare and cook our meals. We would recommend this community.
We had a lot of fun visiting the beautiful island. Jefferson was very helpful and made our stay very welcoming. Our family did many things and the property was beautiful and relaxing. We made new memories and had a great time exploring the many places the island has to offer. I would definitely go again.
Our stay at Jefferson's home in Mauna Lani was amazing. The unit was clean and spacious, well stocked kitchen, and comfortable beds. The separated master and secondary bedroom "wings" was perfect for two couples to have their own quarters. The lanai was comfortable and a great place to relax after a day of exploring. We will look into staying here again on a Kona visit. The value was great. Thanks!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The condo was quiet, clean, and spacious enough for five people. Whenever we had an issue-like running out of toilet paper or trouble with the TV-the response was very quick and helpful, which we really appreciated.Access to the Beach Club by car was convenient, and we also enjoyed having lunch at the restaurant there. One small thing to note is that the kitchen knives were not very sharp, and although there were plenty of towels, they still had a bid of an odor even after washing.Overall, though, we had a great stay and would definitely like to return in the future.
We were 3 adults with 2 children. This place was fine for us, and the location is walkable to grocery stores, snorkel beaches, and convenient to the rest of the Kohala Coast. 30 minutes to Kailua-Kona, about an hour to Captain Cook's and City of refuge. All in all, we would certainly recommend this place to anyone, with or without children.
We loved our stay. The unit was well appointed and very clean. We enjoyed dining on the lanai and the kitchen was well equipped and stocked with all the basics we needed - it was so handy that the toaster oven had an air fryer feature ;). The storage containers and cold pack came in handy for beach days. The bed was so comfy we slept well every night. The Mauna Lani beach club was a wonderful perk that I wish we had taken more advantage of. Something to look forward to on future trips.
Quiet location, clean. Could use updating interior re: color scheme....colors are from 20 years ago. Brighter paint and fabrics would lighten the entire interior. Only 1 broken beach chair, but a variety of beach items were available for use which was very nice.
We really enjoyed our Hawaii stay at this property.
1. The location is excellent. Pristine grounds, close to the beach (10mins walk) and a nice, quiet neighborhood
2. The amenities at the house were very good. It obvious a lot of thought was put into even the smallest details that make the stay comfortable. Plenty of utensils, plates, glassware etc for a large family. The outdoor grill was were useful. We spent a lot of time on the really nice lanai and enjoyed the gorgeous island breezes!
3. The location is close to shops, restaurants, beaches etc. Could not be more convenient.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it for those looking to vacation in Hawaii.
The host Jefferson was fantastic. Easy to communicate with, helpful, and flexible about logistics. Made us feel welcome and made sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Great experience!
We appreciate all the details he thought of to make our stay comfortable: chargers by each bed, fully equipped kitchen with condiments, utensils, saran wrap and foil. We used the grill in the evening with a glass of wine on the Lanai and watched the sunset-wonderful! He had boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach umbrellas and chairs, things you might not get with less attentive hosts. The unit was spacious, air conditioned, nice furniture, and plenty of light. The resort is pristine - well manicured, friendly staff (everyone greets, even the gardeners). It is walking distance to the shops, beach club, fish ponds, and restaurants in the hotel. The beach club has a beautiful outdoor restaurant (as does the hotel).
We highly recommend this Mauna Lani home and look forward to returning in the future!
We loved staying at this property! The pool on site is gorgeous, though be warned it is very cold, which can be a deterrent to use. There is also a hottub by the pool, heated after 12pm, which frequently was in use by others as well given the cold pool. The walk to the beach club is wonderful, as was the wagon, toys, etc. The complex itself is not particularly kid friendly; we heard some other families receive feedback at the pool to quiet down. I would also be aware that this is an upstairs unit if traveling with toddlers or young kids as we learned during our stay that their footsteps generate more noise than that of adults. That being said, the beach was phenomenal and full of other friendly families! The restaurant at the beach is also fabulous. We had lunch there many days. We loved the washer/dryer, and the unit housed us perfectly. The grill and outdoor lanai setup worked well for the rare nights we cooked, and the nearby shopping center grocery (long walk or short drive) was excellent for quick meals. Unit was clean, showers were great, beds were comfortable, and the sunset view was gorgeous. Highly recommend!
This is the second of Jefferson's properties I have visited. He has multiple across the globe; my stay at his place in the wine country of Sonoma CA was excellent, and when I heard he had added this location to his collection it convinced me to return to the Big Island after 15 years. He is definitely a professional host. I appreciate all the little details he thinks of to make your stay comfortable - he has these great chargers by each bed (both sides in the Master), stocked kitchen with all the condiments, utensils, and saran wrap and foil, etc are present; he even had boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach umbrellas, all the things you might not get with less attentive hosts. The unit was spacious, working air conditioner, nice furniture, and plenty of light. The resort is pristine - well manicured, very friendly staff (everyone greets you as you walk or drive by, even the gardeners). It is waling distance to the shops, the beach club, the fish ponds, and the restaurants in the hotel. The beach club has a beautiful outdoor restaurant (as does the hotel). Also the beach club is excellent for me because I am not a fan of the sun, and after 5pm there is shade on parts of the beach there so I can sit without worry of burning. We saw sea turtles in the bay there just 20 feet out. This place is great for kids or for the avid golfer. If you want a peaceful place and avoid the crowded resorts, this is for you. Ask Jefferson about his other places!
