About this property
Beachfront Condo on Saratoga w/ Oceanview Balcony
Enjoy this modern home built in 2015. It has a kitchen/great room that opens up to a spacious balcony overlooking the beach and the city park, or walk out the door to put your feet in the sand and the water! Rumor has it that surfing was first introduced to San Diego in 1916 at this exact location. So bring your surfboards and boogie boards and give it a try. Or bring your dog, since Ocean Beach is also home to the Original Dog Beach where people and pets, beach lovers and surfers celebrate one of Southern California's last true beach towns. Let your four-legged friend run and play leash-free in the sand and surf.
In addition to its beachside location, across the street and around the corner on Newport Avenue you will find dozens of small and independent restaurants, bars, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, and boutiques to satisfy all of your food and shopping cravings.
Be sure to check out the municipal pier, nationally famous burger joint Hodad;s, and if you are lucky enough to be here on a Wednesday (year round), enjoy the Farmer's Market which features locally grown produce, artisan products, food vendors & live music. Other popular events include the OB Kite Festival in May, the famous Street Fair & Chili Cook-off in June, the Fourth of July Drone Light Show, the Sunset Cliffs Car Show in September, OB Oktoberfest, and the Holiday Parade in December. If you are really lucky, perhaps you will see some of the “Parrots of Ocean Beach”, which is a flock of an estimated 200 to 300 wild parrots who make the Ocean Beach neighborhood their home..
Ocean Beach is a short drive from Sea World, Belmont Amusement Park, Little Italy, and many other San Diego attractions when you are ready to take a break from the beach.
Other amenities include indoor, secure parking and lifeguards on duty at the beach during the summer season.

This condo is nice, clean and efficient! Staying on a beachfront property is a great treat, watching all the surfers & incredible sunsets.
The property management provided all the necessities, as well as beach towels & umbrellas. They emailed with details, key codes (4 in all, as garage, property, unit & garbage are all secure) and expectations for their guests. Highly recommend!!

San Diego Christmas 2024
It was a good place, very nice to have a garage. Directions of how to get to the correct door where the stairs were did not say that we had to leave the garage to get to the stairs. It was clean, not everything in the kitchen was working, difficult to figure out the thermostat and the sliding glass door to the patio did not work very well at all. Many homeless in the immediate area. As they said there are no spices and things in the kitchen or extra paper towels etc. It was great that every bedroom had their own restroom, nice closet space for luggage & things. Garage worked well and it was great to have that included with our stay.

There is a significant homeless presence sleeping directly in front of the condo building. As a result, we did not feel comfortable using the beach during our stay. Our concern was not about being around individuals experiencing homelessness, but rather uncertainty about certain behaviors we observed. One morning, we watched an individual for nearly two hours throwing various items he found on the beach. Several beachgoers returned from the water to find their belongings scattered. When we returned later that evening, the same behavior was still occurring.Additionally, there are signs posted within the building stating: “Attention guests, please keep common building codes confidential due to surrounding populations,” which was concerning and added to our unease. The condo itself is in need of updating, as it feels quite dated. There was visible mold in the showers, the bathtub was noticeably discolored, and the water pressure was very poor. While this property was the most affordable option in the area, the overall experience made it clear why. Communication from the management company was also lacking. I am still waiting, almost two weeks since the call, for a return call from the day of check-in, despite having reached out twice before arrival without any response. Lastly, the thermostat is locked at 72F and cannot be adjusted. This was not disclosed in the listing. Several evenings we were uncomfortable due to the temperature and had no ability to make adjustments.

Interesting Place
This was an interesting stay. The view can't be beat! It was absolutely gorgeous! To listen to the sound of the rolling waves every day was very relaxing. We loved the sliding doors to open the whole wall up! Great location as you are right on the beach and walking distance to everything! However, there are homeless people everywhere and someone smoking something, which can be constantly smelled from the balcony. The layout of the place was different and difficult with young kids. As you walk in, there are two rooms/bathrooms downstairs, including the master. Then, up a lot of very steep stairs there's the kitchen/family room. Behind the kitchen is another room and bathroom. Each floor is accessible from the outside. With a 4 and 1 year old I didn't want one kid so far away, so we all slept downstairs. I think the place is great for adults and iffy for kids. The floor was really dirty and many areas smelled of urine, including the couch. I guess what do you expect with a pet friendly place by the ocean. All in all I would recommend this place for adults that are looking for something upbeat and to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The area is extremely crowded on the weekend. The communication was not great. Took over 2 weeks to get a response via messaging through the app. If you need to talk to someone, call the number.
Great location with secure parking, walkable downtown. The area does have homeless population but it's Ocean Beach. Never felt uneasy and area is patrolled. Balcony roomy and glass wall opens to allow for sea breezes.
