The house was beautiful and very spacious for our large family gathering. Beautiful beach area and Kevin was quick to respond with any questions we had. Already considering it for another stay!!!Duane & Lisa
We vacation every year as a family of 14. This house was perfect for a fun relaxing time. From the canoe, kayaks and stand up boards to the soft sand and fishing. The house was supplied with everything we needed. And a fire pit with s’mores every night. We’d definitely come back.
House was very nice, we just wish the cupboards and spaces weren’t filled and occupied by the home owners stuff. We packed and prepared as always for a weeks stay but had very little room for our belongings.
The cabin had plenty of room for our siblings and families vacation with our mom. Everything super clean, fully stocked kitchen everything for family meals and and a beautiful large wood table for everyone to eat and play games at. The house had lots of extra supplies trash bags, TP etc. The owners were very helpful with any questions we had prior to arrival. The back yard is gorgeous, plenty of room for games and the beach was great to cool off in the hot weather. The kayaks, paddle boards and canoe were an amazing bonus. We would definitely stay here again.

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Terrible host
The house was fine except for clogged bath drains my wife pulled enormous amounts of gross hair out of. We had fun there but the story changed on our last night. We went out and locked up the house taking the key from the mantle labeled Secord Lake house. When we returned we found that key didn't unlock the house! I communicated with the host and after an hour of trying to get in and no local locksmiths available, I told Kevin I would just have to break a window to get in. I chose a bathroom window as it was the smallest. After getting in we swept and vacuumed three times being sure to get all the chards of glass up as we had 3 littles either crawling or walking around in bare feet. The next day we tried to follow the sparse instructions for checking out. We ran out of time washing the towels as we were asked to do as the outdated washer took forever to do a load. We did the dishes as asked. We gathered up the sheets even though nothing about the sheets were mentioned in the instructions. We were told a housekeeping service was coming so we didn't bother sweeping and vacuuming on the last morning we were there. An hour after we left we received a nasty text from Kevin's wife saying how we left the house in a mess and cleaned up none of the glass. After a month and a half of calling VRBO, we have been charged the maximum amount extra (which Kevin is supposed to reimburse) and Kevin was paid for damages ( even though it was his fault) from the insurance we bought. I believe Kevin has been removed as a VRBO host, and we are looking into starting a lawsuit. Kevin should never be allowed to host again and should be financially punished for the trouble he has caused us. BTW we have stayed at many VRBO houses as well as being hosts ourselves. We have never run into trouble like this before. The only variable in our stays was this terrible host.
A secret treasure for our family of 8 adults and four grandchildren. Home had many special venues including a large dining table for those shared meals, two big decks overlooking the lake, shady patios for family games, and a sandy beach. Lake was deep (8ft) , refreshed by fresh springs, but always calm for the little ones and for kayaks, canoes and tubes. Extra fridge and lots of extras. Groceries just 10 miles away. We were very impressed! We will definitely return. Thanks to Kevin and Sarah hosts.
Perfect family get away. Comfortable home for 9 adults and 6 children. All the creature comforts you would need plus some! Owners were very good with communication both before during and at the end of our stay highly recommend this property.
What a great property for our extended family of 10! Comfy beds, quiet neighborhood and the lake was an excellent source of entertainment for all ages!
We loved the Gladwin cabin. It was beautiful, spacious and had everything we needed. The deck and patio below were awesome and we enjoyed many fires around the fire pit. The lake was clean and the low water levels were great for us as we like to kayak and fish. No noisy boats going by constantly! Would definitely recommend!
The house was perfect for our group. We spent four full days relaxing on the deck, out on the lake, and grilling. The use of the kayaks and paddle boards was really nice. The property was well stocked with towels and anything you might need to cook with. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return in the future.
the house was very clean and had everything you could ever need. our family enjoyed sitting around the fire in the evenings. and the kids played in the sand for hours. if you want well away from the tourists, this is the house for you.
We had a total of ten in our party of which four were children. We were hesitant to travel due to COVID-19 but In the end decided to go so that we could get together as a family. This ended up to be the perfect destination for us because it allowed us to stay put and still have plenty to do within the confines of the home and beach area!! Even though motor boats were not allowed due the current water level, having access to the kayaks, canoe, paddle boards, fishing and floating more than made up for it! It is a very calm lake and was quiet the week we were there. The decks have plenty of seating and the fire pit area was perfect to make s’mores and to enjoy the sunsets. The house was clean when we arrived, check-in went smoothly and there was plenty of room for everyone!!! Most importantly, Sara and Kevin were VERY responsive and easily accessible when we had questions! Their home is well stocked with all needed paper products, pantry items, kitchen accessories and cleaning supplies If and when we return to Michigan, we definitely would consider returning to this home because it more than met all of our needs!!! Thx for a wonderful week!!!
We had a good time but wish we could have gone swimming -- too many stumps to avoid. Caught a 20 inch large mouth bass. Glad to have air conditioning with days of 95 degrees. Thank you
House was nice and as expected. Bedding and towel quality were just average, but there was plenty of them. Kayaks, paddle boards etc were great. Our only disappointment was that when renting pontoons from the marina you can’t tow any tubes, wakeboards etc, so recommend renting elsewhere or bringing your own. The owners were super responsive when needed. Overall a great week at the lake.

Very nice property. Well appointed and comfortable accommodations.
This property is spacious on the inside and out. The outdoor decks are very nice and have many furnishings for relaxation. We liked the “water toys”. We especially enjoyed the kayaks and the canoe. The water raft/tube was broken so we could not use it. It would have been nice to have that. Boat dock was damaged and needs replacing;however, we could still dock our rental boat with it. One has to be careful on the dock as it is a bit unstable. Our overall experience was excellent and we highly recommend this property.

Wonderful for a large family!
Where to even start! The homeowners were prompt to respond to any questions we had. The house is stocked with everything you need. The views from the house are amazing. The dining table is large enough to fit the whole family. The beds are comfy. The house is a great set up for wandering babies/toddlers. The beach is full of fun activities. There are plenty of toys for little ones, board games, and firewood!
This is the second time we have stayed in this home and already have another trip for August! Just stop right here and book this house, you WON’T regret it!

A perfect get away for our big family!!
This house was perfect for our family. It was clean spacious and there was plenty to do for the kids. The mini beach, water toys/equipment and fire pit kept all of us busy. This was our second time here and would recommend to anyone !
