Affordable house on Lk Michigan in Downtown Frankfort!

Come and stay at our Lake Michigan Vacation Rental, Coast Guard Pointe Cottage, in beautiful Frankfort, Michigan! It is a perfect location to stay for families visiting for a Spring, Summer, Fall Color Tours, golfing trips, kayaking, visiting local wineries, wandering the quaint downtown, and as always, enjoying a week on the beach!

Our Cozy Cottage is next to Lake Michigan. The house sits next to the Coast Guard Station and Harbor Lights Condo's. It does have a direct view of Lake Michigan across the Coast Guard Property, and it does have direct Beach Access located 50 feet away between two condos. The Coast Guard Property is Federal Property and not able to be accessed by the rental.

The cottage is located 2 blocks from Main Street down town, 30 minutes from Traverse City, and 30 Minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes, noted as the 'Most Beautiful Place in America' by ABC's Good Morning America!!

The cottage is a ranch home with 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, living room, dining room, and porch which can easily be used as the 4th bedroom. We have a yard and patio area. The cottage is nestled among private residents and provides for a quiet weekly stay.

Great for families

This property is a great place for a family. It’s affordable, has a short walk to a great beach, and is close enough to beautiful Frankfort to stroll to shops, the water, and a playground. It’s one of the most well-furnished rentals I’ve stayed at, making great use of a small space. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly stay again.

This property sits in a parking lot, surrounded by a small yard. It is not a good location if traveling with children. Having to keep windows open in such a centrally located place was not ideal relative to noise and safety. While the cottage is very affordable, not having air conditioning or a dishwasher on vacation was quite inconvenient. It’s easy to miss that in the listing. The laundry room is also the bathroom, which is not ideal functionally. The ant traps in many places on the floor was a safety issue with our small children, but we picked them up and put them out of reach. For a budget friendly visit in a beautiful area, it’s an ok choice. The beach is just a short walk away.The owner was very nice.

We are sorry you were disappointed with your stay. We are very clear that we do not provide Bath or Beach Towels in our online information as well as our document on preparing for your stay. In addition, we do own the property across the street. We do check in occasionally to ensure your stay is going well and that our renters are respecting the rental rules, such as no smoking. We find that this interaction with our renters creates friendships and a more enjoyable stay given that 99% of our renters return every year.

Perfect vacation cottage!

We loved our stay in Frankfort! This house was the perfect size for our family of 7, and we had a very pleasant stay. We especially enjoyed being able to walk down to the beach so easily! The house does not have a dishwasher or air conditioning. This was not a problem for us; the owner has it well-stocked with fans that can be set in the windows, and the air outside cooled down quite a bit at night so it was comfortable for sleeping. Towels are not provided here, but bedding and kitchen linens are. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, cookware, and utensils for dining in, and everything was very clean. We spent a day visiting the Point Betsie lighthouse and Sleeping Bear Dunes, and we had a lovely evening walk through Frankfort - charming town! We would rent here again!

Amazing location but that’s were it ends…

Our family of 4 adults and 2 children stayed at this property for my husbands Ironman competition. There is absolutely no doubt about it the location of this place was TOP NOTCH. We were steps away from the beach, the finish line of my husbands Ironman and Main Street. Unfortunately the house itself was quite a let down. When we arrived the front door was wide open with laundry running but no one was there. We got a note 24 hours ahead of time telling us there wouldn’t be enough towels for our family and since we had a long journey we had already left home and had to stop at Target for towels. Everything in the home was quite outdated and musty smelling. Additionally there was a pretty bad spider problem as we saw 10+ in our 2 day stay. I’d also add the air conditioner was not operational which made sleeping uncomfortable, the WIFI passwords didn’t work so we had to use our own hotspots and when I text the number given to us by the VBRO host I got a message back saying “wrong number”.

Wonderful space and location

It was a wonderful property and the owners were easy to reach when we decided to extend a day. I would definitely stay again if in the area. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment and we made some yummy meals there. And the location was awesome, just a minute walk to the beach. ❤️

Great Cousin’s Weekend

This was our second year staying at this cottage. It is extremely clean, well stocked and the owner is great to work with. It is a couple of blocks from downtown Frankfort, so it is a beautiful walk to town. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a great place to stay in Frankfort.

We absolutely loved the location and the house itself. Its location is convenient and minutes from some.of the most beautiful views in all of Michigan. The house itself was clean and had plenty of room for our family of 4. Our absolute only wish was to have a hose or spigot to wash off after long beach days. Suggestion: update pictures on site to show the great remodeling work and more pictures of the beautiful beach!! Communication with Rayan was always positive and easy, and she worked with us when we had a family emergency. Will be back in the future!

Coast Guard Pointe Cottage

We stayed almost a week. It is extremely clean, perfect location and the cottage looked exactly like the pictures on the VRBO site. There were 5 adult women and we had plenty of room, the cottage is furnished with everything you will need for your stay. The owner was great to work with, we are definitely booking this cottage again next year.

Nice property but bring a fan!

This property was nice with plenty of space and location was perfect! We could walk out the door and be at the beach or walk to downtown Frankfort. Not to mention jump in the car and be at Sleeping Bear Dunes in about 30 minutes. The biggest issue was there was no air and it was warm the first night with only 2 window fans available. In addition, the property is surrounded by condos so with a little one and having to keep the windows open, it was a bit of a challenge getting her to sleep with the activity of kids outside on the balconies. But honestly that’s the only complaint. The owners were responsive and helpful with the couple questions we had and the house had plenty of space! It is a great location in a nice city and we will be back!

All wonderful…except the beds…

Great location in downtown Frankfurt, MI. Just steps to the beach at the lighthouse. Great kitchen and bathroom, and plenty of parking! Only thing that prevented a 5-star rating were the mattresses on the beds. Twin mattresses were very thin, and the other beds could use an update.

One of the best trips of our lives!

I can't say how perfect this place is! The location, the amenities, the owners - all of it! The house was very clean and contactless check-in/out was perfect and easy. Lots of options for sleeping arrangements. The beach access was a short walk - and WHAT A VIEW! We enjoyed some of the best family time with our adult children (and our son even proposed on the beach! SHE SAID YES!!). If you're considering renting this place, do it. You won't regret it for a minute. The main strip is within walking distance so you don't need to fight for that parking spot for dinner. Even the construction didn't impact our trip in the slightest. Rayan and Peter gave very clear instructions on everything. Just a note: bring laundry pods and paper towels with you. Thanks a million for the incredible memories!

Clean & Convenient

The owners did a great job cleaning the House. We felt very comfortable staying here during Covid. Beds were extremely comfortable The location worked out perfectly. Only about a block to walk into town in a short walk to the beach. Would definitely stay here again!

Casual clean cottage

We had a great stay! The location was excellent, and we were able to enjoy Frankfort and also use it as a starting point for a lot of Northern Mich sightseeing. The house was comfortable and clean and the hosts were friendly and responsive.

Great location for fun

Can’t beat this. Just a couple minutes to the beach and a couple minutes to downtown. The place was clean and everything you need. The owner was very nice and accommodating. No complaints here.
