The house was outstanding. Everything we expected and more. The host were wonderful and very responsive with our questions. Will definitely be looking to stay again.
Responsive owners and great location. Quiet and secluded enough. We really enjoyed walking our dog around the Quaker Mtn roads while snow covered. There were very few cars and the few neighbors we did see were super friendly/considerate. There are a handful of restaurants that are nearby to keep it exciting. Trips to lake Placid and Saranac were fun too. Highly recommend a visit to the High Falls Gorge with the kids if you have them.
This cabin was fantastic for a weekend getaway from the Capital District. It feels very secluded and has a super easy drive to Whiteface, many hikes with falls, Lake Placid, and Jay. Clean, very comfortable, and provided everything we needed on site.
Lauren’s cabin was exactly as described with the extra bonus of a surprise hangout room in the basement! We stayed for the duration of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series at Whiteface and Mt Van Hoevenberg and found the location to be perfect. The ADK in October is gorgeous and we really enjoyed our time. We would definitely visit again!
We felt right at home and this beautiful property. Lauren and Jeff made sure to communicate with us leading up to the stay and the guide they sent us made it very easy to prepare for our trip. When we got there it was even better than we thought it was going to be. Beautiful cabin nestled in the woods and very private. We had a great time and will definitely be coming back to stay!
The property is just amazing! Quiet, secluded and everything you need to enjoy the Adirondacks. All of the amenities that you could want. Lovely hot tub, friendly care takers and a very attentive host! Convenient 15/20 minute ride to Lake Placid, restaurants and other sites. There are grocery stores nearby, but for very basic items so if there’s something special you enjoy on vacation, be sure to bring it with you. Can’t say enough about how amazing this property was! Will recommend to friends/family and should be on your list.
Beautiful secluded home away from home! Cabin was clean, cozy, and equipped with anything you could possibly need. Hosts were super friendly and very quick with communication. Location is perfect to access the High Peaks region and many other points in the ADK. We stayed for a week and the cabin was the best place to relax and unwind after a long day of hiking. Our family loved it and would definitely book again in the future!
The location was excellent. Not far from white face ski resort and less than 20” to lake placid. Electronic guide from our host was a plus we hadn’t experienced before. Cleanly and deck and screen porch are great. Switches are all labeled . Our host was very quick to respond and kept us informed of even the minor details. Would stay again!
We loved our short stay at the Quaker Mountain cabin. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer! The location was perfect - near Whiteface and Wilmington attractions, but far enough to feel like a remote mountain getaway. The hiking trail on the property was great for morning and sunset walks with an amazing view! The beds were comfortable, the cabin was meticulously clean and organized, and there was more than enough space for our family of 5 + dog. We would love to stay here again!
The property is exactly as advertised. The house is spacious and comfortable and has everything you might need for your stay. It is in a very quiet corner of Wilmington, but still close enough to Lake Placid, Keene, and Keene Valley to enjoy all those towns have to offer. The owners were great at communicating and answered any questions we had very promptly. We hope to get the chance to return soon.
This was our first visit to Wilmington NY. The house and the location are wonderful. A very peaceful environment and the house is comfortable and nicely appointed. The location on Quaker Mtn Rd is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy quiet. Lots of good hiking trails around the area and getting to Lake Placid is easy and "just down the road". The hosts are attentive to their guests and are willing to answer any questions you may have. A great place for couples or family! All the best, Paul & Lisa Sept 2024
The log cabin was splendid, comfy, cozy, had everything we needed and close to Lake Placid and the beach. Hiking was wonderful. We were sorry that we didn't stay longer.
Three children, ages 41/2, 6 and 8 were thrilled with the recreation room. Beds very comfortable and plenty of blankets. Adults were equally thrilled.
Thank you for a one-of-kind experience!
Christine
The first thing you notice about this property is how quiet and peaceful the setting is - at the top of Quaker Mountain, the breezes that cut through the forests that surround the property are all you can really hear - no humming of cars or construction noises in the background. Coming from a more active community, the sounds of silence was music to my ears!
The hosts were very communicative in advance of our arrival and provided us with a helpful digital guide that helped us prep for a region that we'd never visited before. All questions were answered promptly and we felt well prepared for our stay before leaving.
The house itself had everything we needed for the times we were there - lots of classic games in the basement, a fire pit, all the kitchen essentials and then some, some TVs, wifi (which the kids needed as cell service for our AT&T phones was limited - not a bad thing!), a couple of shotskis (!!) and a washing machine.
Location wise, it's located about 20 minutes from downtown Lake Placid and about 6-8 minutes from Whiteface Mountain. There were some nice restaurants in the immediate area which we visited for breakfast, but spent most of our time in Lake Placid when eating out.
The beds were firm and comfortable and each room had its own fan and heating units. We had no problems sleeping at all!
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and could easily see ourselves visiting again soon to experience what the region has to offer in the winter.

About the host
Hosted by Lauren and Jeff
Hi there! I’m Lauren - my husband Jeff and I purchased Quaker Mountain Cabin in 2023, and with the help of our kids, family, and friends, we’ve lovingly turned it into one of our favorite places in the world.
We live near Syracuse, NY, but make the drive to Wilmington as often as we can - whether it’s a cozy weekend for two or a full family getaway. We’ve spent holidays here, celebrated birthdays, and even escaped for a quiet recharge when life gets hectic. Every time we arrive, we still catch ourselves saying, “I love this house!” It’s peaceful, warm, and full of memories - and we’re thrilled to share it with others who value comfort, nature, and connection.
As experienced Superhosts, we know how important it is for everything to go smoothly during your stay. While we’re not local full-time, we have a trusted caretaker in the Wilmington area who helps us keep the cabin in top shape and is available if anything comes up during your visit.
We treat every guest like a friend of the family and every stay like it’s your own special trip. Whether you’re visiting for outdoor adventure or simply need a quiet place to unwind, we hope Quaker Mountain Cabin becomes part of your story too.
