Our rustic, Brookside cabin with its old-world charm, consists of 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom with wonderful Adirondack décor and king size bed is adjacent to a huge master bathroom , cathedral ceilings , sunken tub overlooking the brook , free standing shower , antique trimmings . Also adjacent to master bedroom is a charming library with views of colorful flowers in spring/summer and Christmas trees in winter . A pull out couch that sleeps 2 . The second bedroom consists of 2 queen size beds. Adjacent to this is another bathroom completely renovated with high ceilings, large shower and antique trimmings. Complete kitchen with vaulted pine ceilings,*Just renovated ..sub zero refrigeration under counter.. quartz counter top ..state of the art appliances with beautiful views of the brook ** The third bathroom sits adjacent to the kitchen with full bath amenities. The washer and dryer is also adjacent to the kitchen wrap around large windows with virws of the brook .Dining room offers a full view of the brook through wall to wall windows, cathedral ceilings with pine and bark and a 12 foot long antique table to enjoy your Brookside dinning. The Great Room is a charming, cozy, romantic and relaxing place with a large stone fireplace, velvet couch, Indian blankets and comfortable chairs. Huge deck facing Whiteface Mountain and Lake Placid is partially screened in and a cozy place to sit allowing you to enjoy sounds of the babbling brook and scenic views in any weather.
Brookside is located in the Whiteface club resort area . Simply beautiful any time of the year ! Spring/ Summer an abundance of flowers . Cozy warm getaway

Perfect lake placid getaway

This location is ideal…close to town but right by the white face facilities… the cabin was cozy and absolutely perfect for our family of 5 and our dog.. the wood burning fireplace in the living room was amazing ..we absolutely loved everything about it and will definitely be returning !!! We can’t wait to stay there and enjoy the amenities in the summer …it is right next the the golf course !

Excellent cabin!

Very cozy and cute cabin, well maintained and excellent communication with Cheryl the host. Nicely equipped with kitchen equipment and bathroom supplies/towels/blankets and new washer/dryer. Screen porch could use a little more attention for sitting there to enjoy the brook— it just has a picnic table and 2 seats. Highly recommend --we are set to return 2025! Highly recommend!!

We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay here again. Great location to town but still private and close to nature and the lake. We cook-in more than the average traveler, so we would always prefer more/better kitchen utensils and pans (outdoor grill was not operational). Fireplace is great!

Great Family getaway

The cottage is exactly as shown in the pictures which I find not usually to be the case. Pleasant surprise. Beautifully decorated with top of the line furnishings. Peaceful and inviting. We cannot wait to go back and already booked our next stay.

Lake Placid is magical

Brookside rental home is beyond charming, spacious, the most comfortable beds/furniture ever. Perfect for our two families of 6 Fabulous kitchen with window overlooking the brook. We enjoyed the large front porch for am coffee, barbecuing, viewing lake. The easy walk to private beach. marina restaurant through the gorgeous gardens made for a perfect summer vacation. We definitely will return!

Third time and love it more each time!

We've been to Brookside three times and it is becoming a retreat for us. Its location in the beautiful lodge and cabin neighborhood of the Whiteface Club puts it near the lake and in a peaceful setting. But you can walk to the restaurant, the marina and the Lake Placid Lodge for food/drinks if you like. The cabin is in wonderful condition and very commodious for 4 people and can be for even more if needed. The kitchen is updated and well appointed and the three bathrooms feel luxurious. A lovely stay every time!

Our sixth stay!

We keep coming back to Brookside cottage because it has all the amenities we need, is comfortable, clean and beautifully situated in the Whiteface club and resort. We especially love access to the lake and the nearby hiking trails. it is very quiet, but close to the bustling main street if we want to go. It's the best of both worlds! Cheryl is a fantastic host and has always checked in with us to make sure we are all set. She has taken great care of the property over the years, too, making numerous improvements.

Peaceful and serene week!

Cheryl - Andy, myself and the dogs thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brookside. We felt safe, cozy and relaxed the entire week we were there. The spaciousness of the cottage is even more than we expected based on the pictures and we were delighted with the big master suite and bathroom! The dogs enjoyed their time and we did lots of hiking in the area (so many hiking trails and so little time!) The town of Lake Placid is just 5 minutes away and we found no issues with finding a good restaurant to visit or with parking. Overall, we had a wonderful time and we hope you will have us back again one day! Rob C.

A mountain cabin to delight all

This second trip to Brookside was just as lovely as last year. This is a top-notch place with majestic mountains and lakes all around you. Inside Brookside you will find rustic furniture and walls, a beautiful working kitchen with all you would need. I am a linen freak and often bring my own, but Brookside has the most luxurious towels and sheets that I have ever found in any of my rentals. With it's 10 minute proximity to anywhere you might want to go, it is an easy choose to pick this cozy, comfortable cabin. I'd do it again. P.S. you'll love the fireplace!

Terrific Cottage Stay

We just spent ten days in the lovely Brookside Cottage. The cottage is huge and comfortably appointed with Adirondack-themed furnishings. Full kitchen, three full bathrooms, working fireplace, BBQ, sitting porch, etc., etc. What more do you need? The cottage is part of a larger resort with other cottages, larger homes, and two clubhouses/restaurants. And a very pretty golf course. Supermarkets and any shopping you'd need are a short drive, and the town of Lake Placid is a ten-minute drive. Our interactions with both the owner and management company were pleasant and seemless. We looked at many properties before deciding on Brookside Cottage. We booked many months in advance and we appreciated the liberal cancellation policy, particularly in light of the COVID mess. Can't wait to come back again!

2nd Time and the charm is alive

This was our 2nd stay at the Brookside Cabin, and we enjoyed it just as much if not more than the first time. First, this is a cabin nestled next to a lovely, small creek partially in the woods, but it's a cabin with very upscale amenities. The bedrooms and beds were all quite comfortable, but the updated bathroom and kitchens offered great luxury. In fact, we brought along our own Nespresso machine only to find one was available. New from our last stay were excellent window unit air conditioners we needed only during the day. Additionally, the porch chairs have been updated and were far more comfortable than those before. Coffee on the deck with views out across the lake was a treat. Best of all, the grounds of the Whiteface Club and Resort are exceptional. The waterfront garden still amazes my gardener wife, and enjoying dinner at the Moose Lodge right on the lake with spectacular views of Whiteface mountain simply can't be beat. This is a very hard spot to dislike, so we look forward to our next opportunity to share this great home.

Cozy Cabin

We spent 3 night at the Brookside Cabin and hope to return. We love staying at the Whiteface Club because it is an easy drive to town but we like being away from the hustle. We also enjoy the short walk to the Lake Placid Lodge to grab a drink at the bar there. The cabin was comfortable and well appointed. We really liked that the cabin was not decorated in the cookie cutter style of so many LP places. Plenty of towels, comfortable beds, etc. All the touches you want. Amazing views, lots of light and windows. The fireplace and firewood were probably our favorite feature. A cozy fire, that amazing smell of wood burning while you watch the snow fall - like spending time in snow globe! So perfect. As expected, it was snowy and icy in January in LP. The steps to the hours are stone and uneven (would not recommend to anyone with mobility issues) and they were icy. We called the property manager and they had it sanded within the hour and left more salt for us to add as needed. Super responsive! Just what you need in inclement weather. Our only suggestion would be to improve check-in/check-out. We had to go downtown to pick up/drop off the key. We rent VRBO a lot and most places now have lock boxes on property or coded keypads which make things significantly easier. We hope to return to this cozy, charming cabin. It was LP perfection!

What a great trip we had in Lake Placid. The house was great and the location was beautiful. Very close to the lake with a nice front deck and covered porch at the front as well. It was also just a few minutes from town and stores. Very short walk to a marina for boat tours and kayaking and small swimming area at the lake. HIGHLY recommend!

Beautiful house! Just as pictured, spacious and bright, we really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is perfect, large enough and well stocked for cooking meals or perfect just for quick coffee and breakfast. Very close to several grocery/specialty food stores. Great location in Lake Placid region for all the outdoor activities, and close to the town of Lake Placid for restaurants and shopping. We had dinner one night at the Moose Lodge Boat House, super convenient 2-minute walk, spectacular view of the lake and mountains.

I am a resident and native of Staten Island, NY. I am 3rd generation in a family business that was started by my grandfather in 1929 after he immigrated to the US. Back in those days he created every block by hand. We currently specialize in mason and building materials. I have been renting Brookside for 25 years and have done many improvements over the years. My tenants are extremely pleased and I have many returning renters. I take pride in giving each tenant complete attention and strive to help them have the best vacation possible.

Why they chose this property

I’d like to tell you about my first experience as a potential buyer of Brookside. I arrived during the night and settled into the cozy cabin with no knowledge of the spectacular impressions I would receive the next morning. I awoke to the beautiful sounds of the babbling brook, which I hadn’t heard when I first arrived. I then went outside to the gorgeous wrap around deck I looked at the beautiful Whiteface Mountain and the picturesque Lake Placid while drinking my morning coffee. As I relaxed next to a warm fire I immediately fell in love. Following my lovely morning I explored the area and saw nature at its best. Just 5 minutes away I enjoyed the cozy village of Lake Placid where I antiqued, shopped at boutiques, dined on the lake and enjoyed a fifty cent popcorn at the historic cinema. I decided then and there this was the place and the property for me.
