Property close to beach, very run down and in great need of updating and cleaning. Beds uncomfortable. Bathrooms pretty good but overall just felt unclean, and uncomfortable. Big disappointment I’m sorry to say.

We had a great stay. We stayed here with family and friends in Del Mar for the Breeders Cup. We cooked several meals and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the back patio area in the evenings.

Family Holiday

House was perfect for a multi-generation family holiday. Location to beach, restaurants, shops and freeway made it easy to explore Del Mar and everything San Diego has to offer.

We received one message prior to check in with info. The cleaning crew were at the house at 4:00 on check in day so all doors and windows were open. We wrote to the property manager a number of times and received no response.There is no AC and Del Mar was 90 degrees and 80% humidity. Many things at the house are broken and ill-fitting - umbrellas, chairs, handles, knobs, lamps, blinds, etc. There was shampoo in one bath and not another. Body wash in one and not another.There was an intense number of flies, we figured out were from the smelly astroturf in the yard that dogs use as a bathroom and no one rinses off - ever.We left early, by choice, and no one ever responded to our message.Just a little effort could go a long way. The beds were comfortable and kitchen acceptable.

Fun Stay in Del Mar

This location was great. We were in town for the Breeders Cup. The beach was just steps away for our family members that wanted to spend the day on the beach and the track was a short walk for those interested in the races. The house was comfortable for everyone and we had plenty of room. We really enjoyed the private patio area. We would stay here again.

Great location. Good layout for families. Backyard is great. House needs more air flow at nighttime- stuffy. Also. I rented this house when I was going to UCSD college for a year with three roommates in 1977. They’ve done a nice job of upgrading the building and completely changed the layout with updated features for bathrooms and bedrooms. Great relaxing beach house.

Great location!

Our family of 8 adults were all comfortable and had plenty of space. The house is in a great location with easy access to the beach and walking distance to Del Mar area restaurants.The only recommendation would be to improve the beach chairs, umbrella toys. Most of what is there isn’t useable. But overall a great stay and we would visit again.

Great location in Del Mar!

This house in Del Mar is a great place to stay. The courtyard is perfect for entertaining. Between my immediate family and their children, we had about 15 people for a BBQ and was perfect. It is also great that it is just a couple minutes walk to the beach at 20th street with a life guard station right there for the kids. There is no place better than Del Mar beaches for a walk in the soft sand. I highly recommend the location as the hosts are super accommodating and it was nice meeting them personally.

Absolutely a wonderful location. The home had a nice set up and beautiful backyard.

The home was beautiful and in a perfect location, although the home is old as expected, the appliances were outdated as well. We struggled with refrigeration, dishwasher and toaster. Had a few issues with some of the electrical outlet sockets. Overall, a fantastic home and we would visit there again

This was the perfect house for my family

The house was fabulous for my family of 7 (elderly grandparents (2), adults (3), teen (1), and 5 year-old (1)). The house looked exactly as shown in the pictures. It was very comfortable, with enough space for everyone. The kitchen was easy to cook in and there was enough space for all of us both at the kitchen table and the outside table. The courtyard was particularly nice and gave us enough space. The hosts were also very responsive when we asked questions. It was great to be close to the beach and the whole family enjoyed the stay.

This place was absolutely terrible. When we arrived, the code they had given us didn't work so we had to wait an hour to get in. Then when we got inside it was clear the house was not well cared for: there was a horrible stench of mold dry rot on the outside of the house; the furniture was old, with many broken drawers; in the kitchen the main burner knob was missing and the refrigerator had a large dent in it; the sheets smelled like mildew; the broken umbrella was held together with duct tape; there were no eaves so going to the back bedrooms meant getting completely drenched; the bbq grill was missing nobs and the handle is broken; there were loose wires, very dangerous for young children, and the backyard has no drainage so it flooded terribly, we had to wade through water to get to our bedroom. Absolutely not worth over 1000 per night. When we reached out to the owners they were very rude and refused to acknowledge our concerns, saying instead that this is normal in houses by the beach.

Unfortunately this guest came during a very big rain storm none the less we sent handyman over there for her. She turn out to be very vindictive guest and I would not wish her on any host. We heard not one complaint during her stay till we refused to give in to her essential black mail. Her text said "would hate to give a bad review " when we would not discount her for the weather which we have no control over. Just a few things in her review to comment on. 1 the front door keybad works just fine we went and showed her Operator error. There are eves/overhangs on the outside litterly shows them on the pictures. The bbq handle had to be simply snapped back on after being staged for a photo as well as the wiring around the frame of the guest bedroom l. Which is a 100% safe. This is the beach with lots of moisture hence mildew or must in the air at times especially when it rains. There is no mold this was simply lashing out. The burner knob was in the drawer. This is an older home clearly stated. We pride ourselves on our homes. We lived in this home in the 80s and 90s and live around the corner. There is one house separating this home to ocean. Its prime real estate and we compensate it price wise for being older. But it is a great house to enjoy share memories with family and friends. Our cleaning crew works atleast 5 hours between guest hard. Hence the 4pm Check in time and if nobody is checking out that morning we are happy to have you earlier at no cost.. Your not going to find a perfect house this close to the beach that's in perfect condition all the time. They aren't rented out they are lived in usually not rented not always by locals. The weather is tuff to keep up with the moisture, rust, electronics etc. But we are reachable 24/7 and have a full time handy man and cleaners to get on anything as soon as possible. Nobody else on any of these reviews has mentioned the things she mentioned, we stand by our reviews and guest of past. Every once in awhile u get someone who's never going to be satisfied but we won't stop trying.

We had a great time. Location was ideal. Proximity to the beach matters. Three bathrooms were ideal for our group. The courtyard was perfect for us and we gathered there, used the fire pit and relaxed. There is no hot tub. It should not be advertised. Suggested repairs: broken BBQ handle, outdoor shower not working, broken handle on microwave. Easy fixes. Our hosts were great, especially at a difficult time for them. Highly recommended.
