The Garden Cottage is like a private cabin in the woods situated in the slim pillars of pines—inviting, rustic yet delightfully comfortable open space that provides a sense of peace and tranquility. Cushioned sofa, an Amish Slat Mission Recliner and a vintage American Industrial Factory Cart Coffee Table with fifty-acre pasture views of playful deer and wild turkeys form a cozy living room.
It’s the twenty-foot ceiling that comfortably accommodates the massive antique 120 Drawer Hardware Store Apothecary and a serene Audubon painting above that completes the space. “It is the personal memories, sense of place and all the experiences that I will cherish forever that keep bringing us back.”

Why they chose this property
We wanted to return to New England and find a traditional antique reproduction home and property with expansive views. Our home rises from a country dirt-road nestled against lush Pond Mountain with dramatic neighboring views of Northeast Mountain – beyond the great lawn the property border to the north has visible remnants of a long-standing farmers stonewall that leads to our neighbor’s beautiful pond, expansive meadows and a distant antique farm house. We almost expect to see Norman Rockwell standing next to me with his farmers’ basket of produce suitable for his next canvas.
