Charming Historic Cottage with Private Waterfront on Core Sound -Pet Friendly

Enjoy spectacular sunrises, moon lit nights and gorgeous views of Core Sound from this recently renovated historic studio cabin. Pet friendly. 200 feet of private beach (this is the sound so it is not a beach with waves) and shared pier access. Pier can be used for motorized or non-motorized boats but the sound is very shallow and requires a flat bottom boat. Queen bed. High speed internet and smart TV. Streaming services with your own account. Bring your bikes to explore the town of Atlantic. Bring your boat/kayaks to take advantage of the outstanding fishing and beaches of Cape Lookout National Seashore that can be accessed by boat or ferry. Enjoy lunch at White Point Take Out. Dinner at Paddys Take Out or Wild Wills Revenge. No grocery store in town so make sure to stop along the way in Beaufort or New Bern. Dollar general is 5 miles away in Sealevel. Lovely restaurants and shopping in Beaufort, Morehead City and Atlantic Beach 25 mi. away.

Caught fish from shore and shared pier with full moon and king tides. Weather was beautiful until windy with approaching coastal low. Well equipped small cottage with beautful views of water, birds, porpoise, sunrise over water and exceptional full harvest moonrise! Relaxing respite from rat race.

Another great New Years break!

My wife and I have stayed here every New Years weekend for the past 3 years. If you are looking for a restful and quiet getaway we'd highly recommend this cottage. A short drive to Cedar Island and you'll have miles of beautiful beach to walk and enjoy with very few people at this time of year.

So happy we found this little gem! The area is so quiet and peaceful, and the view of the sound from the cabin is perfect. The host was excellent and quick with communication. Would 100% stay again and we hope to return next summer!

A beautiful waterfront location if you’re looking for a place to sit on the deck and enjoy the view. Also plenty to see and do in the area. Very quiet, lovely sunrises, lots of water birds to watch.

Perfect!

It was absolutely everything we ever needed for the few days we were there. It was certainly comfortable enough to want to spend the entire week. We even had a little fox den for neighbors during our stay. Everything was perfect and quaint.

Pleasant Getaway

Enjoyed our time at the Sound, sadly the rain from the previous week caused the beach to be less than expected but we still loved our time there. We are considering a return trip! The cottage also had some really cool little details within it.

Great weekend getaway!

Great host and great location! My wife and I enjoyed some much needed rest and relaxation away from the kids. This place was exactly what we needed. Peaceful and quiet with a great view! The hosts were awesome and had everything ready for us when we arrived. Highly recommend and will likely be coming back. Thank you!

Best stay ever

The best VRBO! Owners felt like family they are so nice! We rescued a dog last year and wanted him to experience the beach so this private hidden gem was perfect! Very clean,bed was superb and I'm picky about beds,too many nice touches to mention,loved the guest book,privacy, super cozy and our rescue sunny loved loved loved it! Can't wait to come back!

Peaceful getaway

This is a lovely out of the way cottage, perfect if you want peace and quiet. But be prepared to drive to Beaufort if you want a restaurant. The only real downside was lack of a sandy beach so not much room to shore fish. The place was extremely clean with some nice homey touches.

Nice little place

The cottage was cute and comfortable. Everything was accurate, and very clean. We were able to get into the cottage earlier than expected and we really appreciated that! The communication was great. Bring your own water and food, there's not much to do around the area, which we did know. One of the pictures on the listing appears to be the Atlantic Beach, not part of core sound. The little private beach was really nice, I just wish it had been cleaner. There were bricks, metal pieces, and broken glass that you did not see in the pictures. There is also an abandoned house and Warehouse near the property. The abandoned warehouse says no trespassing, but people are constantly coming and going there. We saw/heard a couple teenagers smashing things in the warehouse, and when we looked that way, they got in their golf cart really quick and drove away. It seems to be the neighbors, which is no fault of the owners at this cottage. The parents would even drive their little kids out here to explore the warehouse, which we thought was weird. Other than that, we had a really nice time and for the most part it was very quiet. I wouldn't be back just because I'd like to be closer to the beach next time, which was about 50 minutes away. North Atlantic Beach & Emerald Beach were really nice! If you are not bothered by the warehouse and the people coming and going, I'd say definitely go for it! The cottage really does have amazing views as stated in the other reviews.

Cottage with a view

Adorable cottage! Well stocked, nice attention to detail. Location very peaceful and private. Loved the view and spacious yard for our dog! Owner very accessible and helpful. Provided a lot of info for the area which we took advantage of! Local seafood was delicious!

8th Anniversary

It was a quaint and cozy cabin. Our overall experience was wonderful. It started off rocky as we arrived later than we anticipated. We knew the cabin was pet friendly and anticipated such but was very disappointed when we pulled the navy blue bed linens back and they were covered in pet hair. Dollar General to the Rescue! We had an amazing time. Even in the rain. I can’t imagine the stories this small piece of heaven could tell. I know there is a history here that is amazing. Thank you for sharing with us!

A great get away !

Just needed a place to stay for business so this was a perfect spot for a quick trip. Comfy bed and full kitchen was all we needed. Right on the wayer was a plus.

This is a tough one to review

OK- I am not reviewing this exact property. Why? - the system double booked this place (now fixed). The owners quickly and kindly offered us a large farmhouse that was 2 homes away from this one. It was fabulous. Large home, all the amenities and an amazing view and dock. Normally no pets but the owners made an exception for us. We agreed to not use the upstairs to save any additional cleaning with the dogs. Very clean and welcoming. No issues at all (well, there was no power when we got there due to prior storms). Caretaker was very responsive and let us know when Duke Power would have power back on. All in all a great stay and would book from these owners again.

Little getaway for relaxation and some fishing

Property was gorgeous and peaceful... Owners had problem with Vrbo and other company with overbooking but they took care of us and gave us their other Property which was just as charming as the cabin. Dock was so gorgeous... have nothing bad to say about anything. Extremely Extremely clean and Property was Very Maintained...
