The Kodiak cabin was the perfect choice for our family trip. We have stayed at many cabins and this was by far the cleanest and most cofortable. The location was close to all of the area attractions we wanted to check out and the kayaks and rowboats were great for heading out on the water.

Kodiak cabin
Very clean, and we like the overhang in case it rains makes it easy to pack and unpack.
Property was the perfect home base to explore Michigan. Less than 20 minutes from Sleeping Bears Dunes and less than 5 miles from beach front at Lake Michigan, it allowed us time to explore instead of wasting time driving. Teenage sons enjoyed the lake and boats provided with the rental. Cabin was clean and spacious for our family of 4. We’d stay again!

The cabin presented well. Clean and very comfortable for 4 people. It was our base from which we enjoyed torch lake and the local wineries. The lake on the property was pristine and we enjoyed the bonfire area both evenings. The quiet neighborhood was well kept and people were friendly.

Have always stayed at the Brown Bear but the 1st stay in Kodiak was very nice and comfortable. The dishwasher wasn’t working but that was ok we did the dishes and left them out to dry when we left. Very comfortable bed and furnishings. I missed the screened in porch but it only rained for a few days. Can’t wait to come back! Thank You!John Meister

Cabin was great, as is location. The ad however had mentioned a kayak, a canoe, and a firepit included, which we were told after check in were not available in October as these are seasonal items offered. Slightly disappointing as that was part of the reason we chose this location, but the cabin itself was great. Would stay again, but a bit misleading regarding amenities offered in the ad listing.

Thanks for the review, Glenn! We are very sorry that you were disappointed that the outdoor amenities were not available, but it is clearly indicated in the listing that "Due to seasonal weather constraints, all outdoor amenities (including the firepit, dock, boats, etc.) are only guaranteed in terms of availability from June 1 through Sept. 30." We do hope to see you again! Best wishes and God bless! :-)
I liked this place. Has that old-school, “up north”, Michigan cabin vibe. Exactly what I was looking for. Nice and clean. Management was very responsive. There are plastic bags, or barriers, on all of the mattresses. I guess that’s hygienic? It doesn’t make for a comfortable night’s sleep, however.

Family weekend
The Lodiak cabin was definitely a great choice for our family road trip this past weekend. On behalf of my family we thank you for a clean and comfortable stay. The boys especially liked the Sleeping Bear Dunes, due to the weather we didn’t get use of the rowboat but did enjoy the views of Little Platte Lake from the bench on the dock. Looking forward to a return to the Twin Birch Resort!
