Where the Mason-Dixon meets the mountains, The Apartment @ Zero Day Stay is fully private space attached to a quiet comfortable home. From May - July, Zero Day Stay is a full-service, Appalachian Trail hiker hostel. From August - April, it's a traditional home stay. Just 1 block from Pen Mar Park, MD, The Apartment @ Zero Day Stay is a great place to stop, rest, recharge before getting back on the trail. Or, skip the hotels and stay in a quiet place that feels a little more like home. Section hiking? Doing the Four State Challenge? Shuttles are available to get you where you want.

Please know that two cats live here. During your stay, they'll be in the basement. Despite my best efforts to keep guest bedding separate from my own, a stray hair or two may appear.

Fantastic apartment in perfect location

Communication with the owner was simple. Easy to check in and get settled. The apartment had everything i could need and more. Comfortable bed, hot shower, wifi and tv to watch movies at night. The apartment is a very short walk to Pen-Mar park and the AT. My pup and I had a great time exploring and were happy to have a comfortable place to relax after a day of adventure.

Hoody is a former middle school teacher, foster dad, grandpa, old-stuff collector and occasional traveling wanderer.

Why they chose this property

The home is in quiet, mature, Historic Pen Mar Park Village. In the late 1800's and early 1900's, the Pen Mar Express brought thousands of tourists on the scenic journey out to Pen Mar Park to ride rides, listen to music, and dance in the pavilion. The decline of train travel hastened its demise -- WWII finished it off.

What makes this property unique

For May, June, and July, Zero Day Stay is a full-service hiker hostel. It's located only 1 block from Pen Mar Park and the Appalachian Trail. From August - April, it's a quiet, comfortable home stay.
