Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Excellent positioning next to Carlsmith Beach. Just walked around the wall and we’re there without the parking hassles. The access process was very interesting, but quite efficient when you follow the directions (that came well in advance).

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time at Maunaloa Shores. The facility has what you need - including a nice and clean pool. It is a great location, as well, right next to Carlsmith Beach. We ended up spending more time at Onekahakaha Beach (1 mile away) because it was great for young kids. The unit has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The unit was impeccably clean, too.

Great location in Hilo. Older property but interior in good shape. Had snorkeling gear (no fins) and basic beach chairs. I did not realize at booking time it was not air conditioned. There were several fans and ceiling fans. Great shallow beaches nearby.We had a great time. Only suggestion would be better instructions on how to find lock box with keys.

Eh - it was okay

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros - Well stocked kitchen, nice location and view.Cons - **** roaches. Huge one ran across the floor. Next morning another one crawling on the back of the couch while watching TV. Another jumped between us on the couch.Main TV was similar to a desktop monitor. Sound quality poor. Maintenance man never returned texts after several attempts. I contacted the host and host did respond. Pool closed two entire days.

Steps from Carlsmith and everything you need for an amazing vacation. Home away from home only better. Location is central to everything in Hilo and points North and South. I loved every minute of my stay and will definitely return.

Must Stay!!!

We stay on this property pretty much every time we go to Hilo. Super easy check in and out. Loved have the beach amenities! Super close walk to 4 mile which is easily one of the best beaches on the Hilo side!

The condo itself was cozy, clean, and very secure. Despite no a/c, tge breeze from the ocean and ceiling fans kept us very comfortable. The pool was nice as well, and laundry room steps from the unit. The location was great as well, less than 10 minutes from Hilo airport and town. I would recommend this to anyone staying on this side of the island.

The unit is lovely and well decorated and furnished. Everything we could want for beach excursions was here from chairs to tote bags. Snorkel and mask too. Great stay! We'll be back!

Location Location Location

We had a fab time. Jack the rooster made sure we woke daily at 6am. A the manager made sure we were safe in our first ever tsunami evacuation. The snorkeling with the turtles in the "back yard" was the cherry on top!
