Property and the location was great. Only 7 minutes from Red Wing. The house was incredible. Property was isolated, beautiful and on a back channel of the Mississippi River. Would highly recommend staying there.

Great spot on the backwaters of the Mississippi. Perfect for small family or a couple friends. There is only 1 actual bedroom with a door. Plenty to do in the area and it’s a quiet place to relax.

Everything in the whole process was wonderful for my 77 year old father and I to have a quiet, secluded spot on the water for the week. We used launches on the Mississippi side to put in our boat to fish Lake Pepin and navigated right from the property up river to fish by the dam. Jodi was helpful and responsive each step of the way.

We had a great long weekend. Good location, well stocked, and very comfortable. We kayaked right off the property, had a bonfire, and had a relaxing time!

Great riverfront cabin

We had a great stay at the cabin. It was cozy and comfortable. The views to the river were amazing. We saw eagles and listened to birdsong through open windows. We did run into a few issues (broken coffee pot, trash left by former renter) but the host was very responsive and helped to make it right. Would stay there again.

Excellent Stay!

My family and I had the best time! The cabin was in a great location, close to RW where I am from. The cabin was family friendly for my 2 yo and 7 yo. The layout and accommodations were amazing! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay! It was like being at home! :)

Stunning

This property and home were both equally breathtaking. The views out of every window were just wonderful. To be able to just walk to the water and drop a line in for a few minutes without having to pack a bunch of stuff up was really something for us! I highly recommend.

Absolutely FANTASTIC!

The property was very cozy, well appointed and easy to relax in. The host was an absolute pleasure and cleanliness was immaculate. Just across the river, i would recommend this property to anyone looking for something near Red Wing. We will be back!

Property was filthy and neglected.Better signage, directions needed. Sketchy area once you turn by mailboxes. Broken up bench right at entry door.I notified host who hasn't been to the property since January and she said to check the shed for white Adirondack chairs.No chairs, just filled with junk. There were 3 camping chairs leaning in a corner amongst piles of leaves around the patio.Had to clean off before using. Cobwebs & insects covered cabin and patio area.Likely not swept or blown off in several weeks. 1 air conditioner in living room barely cooled living room only. Air did not reach either bedroom . ONLY ceiling fans.Bedrooms connect.Master was stifling hot didn't close the door.Too hot to sleep in the other "bedroom". Miserably hot! Standing in 6 inches of water while showering and had to dig clumps of hair out of drain to get water to go down.Bottom 8 inches of shower curtain was orange so an ongoing issue. Mold/moisture in corner of bathroom.Tub and sink are in rough shape and toilet needs a good scrubbing.Counter accessories were filthy. Bathroom vent covered in dust. The seat/back of the massage chair was literally shredded with pieces coming off. Cobwebs/dust/dead insects throughout the interior of the cabin. Dirty silverware in drawer.None of the light switches are marked. Never could get the main overhead light in kitchen to turn on. Freezer was filthy inside.There were mini chalkboard signs saying things like Welcome, Games, etc. but were barely legible.

Very Relaxing

We enjoyed staying at the cabin and watching the wildlife and weather (February snow fall). We had planned to go hiking in Red Wing but the weather was not ideal for it. Instead we shopped, read by the fire, played games and watched the Super Bowl. Very relaxing retreat.

We stayed here for a girlfriends 3 night weekend get away. We really enjoyed Vern's cabin !!The cabin had everything we needed. It is very peaceful and serene there. We really enjoyed the patio for coffee in the morning, the fire pit at night, and watching the river. We saw & heard lots of birds, eagles & Blue Herons....Bunnies and a big turtle too. The cabin is not fancy but it is perfect for a get away. Redwing is right there and we had a lot of fun shopping, eating out, and checking out the bluffs. Anthony ( owner) was very helpful. Stay here if there are 3/4 of you.

It's just us

Quiet, relaxing, nice view, nicely set up cabin. The only issue we had is that the second bed, with the iron frame, was super squeaky and the trundle bed was not comfortable for my son. Had a good time, enjoyed Red Wing and did some unproductive trout fishing.

Okay

The fishing was great. My husband used our kayak and was able to stay in an eddy and fish. Otherwise the bank was the type of mud that sucked your shoes off. No fault to the hosts, but there were dirty dishes, cob webs, full stinky outside garbage so that we couldn't empty the house garbage. some amentities didn't work: dishwasher, portable ac, plus fridge didn't stay cold. All these things are remedial so just check they all is good now! The stocked kitchen was awesome and the grill was nice to use.

Thanks for info…just an update for amenities. The dishwasher has been replaced with a band new one along with the portable air. Fridge has also been fixed and garbage issues resolved….🤞 with GFL pick up every week.

Perfect size and location for our family of 3

The host is very responsive when messaging through vrbo app but also gives cell number in her welcome guide. Whole house is well stocked if you forgot anything or need a bandaid or dishwasher pods- so nice. The property is a little tricky to find at first so I recommend checking in while you still have some natural light outside. We saw geese and their babies, bunnies, squirrels, rock chuck and a stork on multiple occasions during our stay. Host has a fire pit and seating on large patio plus a gas grill. We built a fire every night it wasn’t raining. There was some issues with water supply during our stay but host quickly resolved it. We loved all the space we had and the quietness that surrounds cabin and neighborhood. We watched boats speeding by throughout our stay and ate at some great local restaurants. Master bed is a sleep number bed so both my husband and I slept very well. Washer and dryer worked great too. Both TVs have internet with normal apps downloaded already and satellite tv. We found so much to do in the area - it was a relaxing trip. Cabin is about an hour drive from twin cities. We would recommend this property and we would stay again in the future!

Not what was expected.

Please don't expect to find the property to be anything like the pictures in the listing when you arrive. The yard was a mess and not mowed. I found 2 large dog bones in the yard that had been there for awhile. The trash can outside was heaping full with trash bags. The patio was covered with dirt, leaves. and debris. There was burnt wood pieces that had been dumped from the fire pit just off the patio. Once we got in we found mold in areas in the cabin that had water leaking in. There were open packages of food items in the cupboards. The refrigerator had an open stick of butter. The remote for the A/C didn't work, so I had to use a step stool to operate it. The coffee maker didn't work. If you decide these issues aren't a problem, please make sure any foods or snacks you bring are in airtight containers. We had to throw several things away because of ants. Both black ants, and flying ants were common. We even found some that had gotten in the refrigerator. We were so disappointed we didn't stay for the whole rental time and came home early.

Hi Kevin, I am so sorry that you had these issues when you stayed and I wish you would have reached out to me as any things arose so I could take care of them. I am in Michigan, so I can’t see what’s happening if I don’t hear about them. I have a cleaning person, but I am so disappointed to hear about the food and ants!!! Disgusting! Coffee pot has been replaced. My brother is supposed to take care of the yard…but I have now reached out to a lawn service so i know things will be cared for every week. As far as the dark wood in the bathroom, yes, it is water damaged, but it has been repaired and treated there is no mold, so not to worry. So sorry, again. Kind regards, Jodi

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! The location right by the water was beautiful and so peaceful. The cabin was very clean, well-stocked, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Communication with the host was excellent from start to finish. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
