We stayed two nights here during our travels to Indiana to see the solar eclipse. This place was perfect for us and I have no complaints about our stay. Thank you for everything and I highly recommend staying here over any hotel in the area.
Light-filled, large kitchen, close to good dog walking
Perfect for what we needed and very responsive managers/owners. We wanted to cook our own meals and bring our dog. Doable drive to UIUC and across the road from Parkland Community College campus, which turned out to be a great place to walk our dog.
The property should actually be called “Thin Mint Surprise.” Beautiful decor, plenty of parking, VERY comfortable and much safer than a hotel. My family would not have had the room to enjoy our visit in a hotel but this property gave us plenty of room while providing the privacy needed when everyone is an adult. The owners are fantastic and they have a knack for decorating and making a place comfortable.
Will definitely be booking again when the next get together is planned.
Nice older home with updated kitchens and bathrooms. Kitchen was well stocked making for easy meal prep with appliances that all appeared to be brand new. There were plenty of towels. Washer and dryer was right behind the kitchen. TVs in every room. Home was very clean (no carpet anywhere). Very simple check out process.
Owners were very responsive and easy to work with. Only negative we can think of is that the house is on a busy street and the traffic (especially trucks) were pretty noisy.

Terrible Experience
The Thin Mint is not what it appears to be in the pictures. We checked out 2 days early because of the unsatisfactory conditions in the home.
This stay was very disappointing and unsatisfactory. We did not receive a check in email so had to reach out for entry information upon arrival. When we arrived the garbage in the driveway was overflowing. It had snowed and rained and there was no rug inside the front door. The temperature in the house according to the thermostat was 45 degrees and unbearable. We came to town for a Christmas concert and we were unable to shower due to the extreme cold. The lights over the kitchen island did not work and both couches are broke. The worst part was my daughter reached into the clean laundry closet and wiped her hands on a towel, and then discovered the towel was covered with dried vomit and had been folded and put back into the closet. That night the toilet did not flush and we could not get it to work even with a plunger. It was concerning when we checked the back door the first night and found it unlocked. We were unable to take our trash out as there was nowhere to put it. I did reach out to the host upon arrival regarding the heat. They blamed it on the previous renters. I again reached out upon checkout to let them know our concerns, and received no response. I rented this home for myself, my daughters and granddaughter. It was a HUGE disappointment and I would not recommend.
