About this property
Cozy Cabin Natural Bridge VA
Relax with the whole family at this peaceful, secluded cabin located in the Jefferson National Forest. The original cabin was built around the 1890's. The newer additions were added in the 1970's. Enjoy the wildlife, mountain streams, fresh air and stars at nighttime as large as the moon. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge and surrounded by the Jefferson National Forest makes this location a one of a kind!!
Up the Creek cabin is nestled in the heart of nature, this rustic cabin offers a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern convenience. The cabin has been recently renovated with a new stove, washer, and dryer. The bedrooms have plush new mattresses that ensure a good night sleep after a day of exploring the forest. The living room area is furnished with new sofa's, creating a warm and inviting space to relax and unwind. This cabin truly combines the rustic charm of forest living with the comforts of modern amenities.
The cabin is perfect for gatherings and getaways. It's prime location near Washington and Lee University, Virginia Military Institue (VMI), and the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington makes it an ideal spot for reunions, retreats, and explorations.
We take great pride in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere in our cabin. One of the ways we do this is by decorating the cabin to reflect the changing seasons throughout the year. Our aim is to provide a space that feels like a home away from home, especially for family gatherings.
Spring: As the snow melts away and nature awakens, our cabin mirrors this renewal with fresh floral arrangements, pastel-colored decor, and an overall light and airy feel.
Summer: During the summer months, we embrace a vibrant and tropical theme. Expect to see bright colors, beach-themed decor, and plenty of greenery.
Autumn: As the leaves change color, so does our decor. We incorporate warm tones, rustic decorations, and harvest-themed elements to celebrate the beauty of fall.
Winter: In winter, our cabin transforms into a cozy retreat. We decorate with soft blankets, twinkling lights, holiday-themed decor, and a touch of sparkle to reflect the magic of the season.
We hope that these seasonal decorations enhance your stay and make your family gatherings even more special. Enjoy the unique charm each season brings to our cabin!
The Importance of Supervision in the Wilderness
Children are naturally curious and adventurous, which is a wonderful trait that should be encouraged. However, when it comes to staying in a cabin located in the National Forest, this curiosity can potentially lead to dangerous encounters. The forest is home to a variety of wildlife, some of which can pose a threat to humans, especially children.
In such environments, it’s crucial that children are supervised at all times. The forest is home to potentially dangerous animals and snakes. An unsupervised child might unknowingly approach these creatures, leading to harmful situations. Furthermore, the presence of creeks adds another layer of risk. While they may seem harmless and inviting, they can be treacherous, especially for children who may not fully understand the risks involved with water bodies.
Therefore, while the beauty and tranquility of a cabin in the National Forest can provide an unforgettable experience for children, it’s essential that adults ensure their safety by providing constant supervision. This way, children can explore and learn about nature while staying safe from potential hazards. Remember, safety should always be the top priority when venturing into the wilderness.
