HIGHLIGHTS OF VALLEY VIEW COTTAGE
Valley View Cottage has had jsome exterior updates. We have replaced the siding with shaker style siding which is very cottage like. The walkway from the driveway to the front porch has been widened. The front porch and front door have been replaced. The two side decks and the sliding doors on the patio has been replaced. We now have a 12X14 Ft. pavilion on the side decks that offers shade and is waterproof. The two lower decks have been replaced and paved and are now on one level. The front yard with the pizza oven and the fire pit remains the same. We think that this is a huge improvement!

Children are welcome at Valley View Cottage. Please know that the cottage is NOT baby-roofed and children will need to be closely supervised by parents or responsible party.

Absolute peace and quiet greet you upon arrival. This is a place to get away from it all. There are no visible roads, no other houses in sight, and the only sound you will hear is the birds chirping or maybe the faint tinkling of the wind chime in the breeze off the deck. Valley View Cottage is situated in a beautiful 24 acre park setting. This very secluded home sits on top of a hill overlooking the Mohican area valley. Enjoy your morning coffee on the patio or in the living room with floor to ceiling windows. The grounds include plenty of walking trails, fishing pond (fishing poles provided!) seating and a picnic table, flowers and wild berries. Enjoy your evening outside around an outdoor fire pit roasting marshmallows or making s'mores or have a BBQ on the gas grill or the stone BBQ. Or create your own pizza and cook it in the made in Italy outdoor wood-fired pizza oven. There is a furnished solar powered free standing tree house\observatory which has both a furnished upper and lower deck to view the Mohican valley, birds, deer and other wildlife. Binoculars are provided for your use at the cottage. This free standing tree house is a great place for kids to camp out. Sleeping bags and cots are provided in the tree house. This home includes all the amenities that you need to enjoy your vacation.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE NOT A VENUE FOR PARTIES, GATHERINGS OR CEREMONIES. WE ARE BEST SUITED FOR SMALL FAMILIES, A NATURE RETREAT, OR A COUPLES GETAWAY. If you are looking for a party place, Valley View Cottage is not it. We are happy to suggest alternatives with request if this is the type of booking that you are interested in.

Home Amenities:
The cottage includes three charming bedrooms, two baths, country style kitchen and a large open living room with plenty of windows to view the valley, sunsets and wildlife. The living room flows into the dining room with a dining room table with seating for six. The kitchen includes all you need to make a simple meal or an elaborate dinner. There is also a small table in the kitchen with four stools for kids or snacks.

Outside includes two deck areas with lots of additional seating along with a fire pit and a Weber gas BBQ. The stone patio also has an outdoor made in Italy wood-fired pizza oven and a stone grill area for cooking food using charcoal or wood. Wood is provided by owners for the pizza oven and the fire pit. Comfortable Adirondack chairs from Amish Oak Furniture and a new picnic table with two benches complete the patio. Nearby is a new swing overlooking the fishing pond and scenic views. There is also seating on the dock and a picnic table by the pond. At the side of the cottage is a furnished solar powered free standing tree house which can sleep up to three. There are sleeping bags and cots available. Camping out in the tree house is an option with appropriate weather. Fun for kids!

A whisper quiet Mitsubishi Comfort Air zoned heating and cooling system keeps everyone comfortable. A good night's rest is assured with comfy ultra premium Euro Pillow-Top mattresses.


Grounds:
Stretch your legs throughout this 24-acre park setting and enjoy plenty of wildlife, flowers, wild berries and quiet spaces. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail on the patio or treehouse decks overlooking the spacious grounds. If you want to take a longer walk/run there are multiple trails leading around the picturesque countryside and Mohican State Park is just minutes away with Mohican Forest being adjacent to the property. The home is accessed by a gravel driveway. In snowy weather 4-wheel drive vehicles are necessary to navigate the maintained gravel driveway.


Activities:
This home is situated in an area that provides countless ways to spend your days. The location, while secluded, offers easy access to all of the fun activities that the Mohican area is known for. Enjoy all water sports or rent a boat at Pleasant Hill Lake that is only minutes away. Canoeing, kayaking, rafting, 3 top-notch 18 hole mini-golf courses, go-carts and a new Aerial Adventure Course ( a harness obstacle course in the air for ages 5 and up) are located at Mohican Adventures and Fun Center ten minutes away in Loudonville. In addition, the infamous Mowery Cider Mill is close by, and guests enjoy watching and sampling the active cider pressing with original antique equipment every weekend in the fall. There are plenty of quaint spots to enjoy meals in Berlin Amish Country with a variety of shopping experiences and several Ohio wineries with wine tastings.
