There are fruit stands to gather your breakfast along the way. Wiggle your toes in the black sand beach. Take a swim in the sparkling ocean or hike along the 'Kings Trail' and take in the beauty of the black arches, blow holes, sea turtles and whales (when in season) along the coastal path. Snorkel in the calm waters of Hana Bay or take the short hike to Red Sands. Just 2 miles from Hana town is Koki and Hamoa beach. A great place to watch the surfers or boogie board yourself. Just 10 miles from Hana is Ohe'o Gulch with the 7 Sacred Pools. Take an amazing hike through the bamboo forest to Waimoku falls. Keep going and visit Palapala Ho'omau Church, and the grave of Charles Lindbergh.
Hana: Hana is like stepping back in time to what Hawaii was like 30 years ago before high rise condos and shopping centers. You can find all the gifts you would need such as Aloha shirts, homemade jellies and jewelry at the local stands or quaint shops. The beauty of the area and the genuine Aloha spirit of the people make this a truly special place

Plan ahead for access to the state park. We could walk there but passes were sold out 5 days in advance .

That was disappointing, I am sure. The reservation system has been in place for a few years now. I understand many state parks are requiring reservations.
There are many other things to do around Hana, however.
Wonderful, private home on a large lot with fruit trees and a large lanai overlooking the yard. The house was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We loved it and would come back in a second!
Clean property, spacious with patio and beautiful garden; easy walking distance to black sand beach; we had family fun cooking and appreciated French press coffee and fresh fruits; after hard days hiking and exploring it was great to come to a home with hot showers; definitely recommend it
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights in Luana Cottage. It was so close to Waianapanapa State park we went there a couple of times, absolutely beautiful. We also had fun checking out all the fruit trees and flowers located on the cottage property. I’m going to recommend this cottage to my friends that want to visit Hana. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us.

Mahalo for your business!
I hope to hear from you in the future❣️
Loved this house! We enjoyed all the fruit trees on the property and everything was clean, comfortable and spacious. Easy to communicate with host. Would not hesitate to return! Mahalo
Comfortable, clean home on large property with beautiful flowers, lush plants, and fruit trees. Loved the fresh avocados and bananas! Even without air-conditioning, the fans were sufficient to keep us cool.

I am so happy you enjoyed your stay!
Come and see us again!
This was an incredible house for our family summer vacation. My husband and I have visited Maui before, but this was the first time for the kids and they had an absolute blast.
The house is at a great location - close to town and the beaches, and has everything you need for a Maui getaway.

Awesome place!
What a wonderful slice of heaven. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this place near Hana. Accommodations were superb - well stocked with all we needed to make us feel at home. The grounds are beautiful - thank you for the yummy fruit! Highly recommend.
Excellent location and absolutely beautiful grounds and gardens.
We spent two nights at the property. We’re so glad we had extra time in Hana. We really enjoyed the covered porch with the nice breeze. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we appreciated the extra touches like having a jar of local coffee and the coffee presses. I was pleasantly surprised by the water pressure and the wonderful hot water from the solar system! And the outside shower was fantastic! If we’re ever lucky enough to come back to Hana, we would definitely stay here again.
A nice house tucked away amid the jungle with a big yard and lots of fruit trees. Even though it's close to the highway, it's quiet most of the time. This was our 2nd visit to this property.

We had a great time staying on this side of the island. The house was very nice and clean. The property is beautiful. It was nice having the little fruit stand at the road to purchase fresh fruits. overall I recommend staying here for at least 1 night so you can explore the area better.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay! I agree that everyone should take the time to stay in the area for at least a couple of nights. Eat Maui has so much to offer.
Thank you for being my guest.
The home was nicer than the pictures. We hope that Hana can stay peaceful. It was pretty busy compared to our past trips.

I am a part time resident of Maui and could not think of a more wonderful place to call home! I live on the mainland in Montana when I am not here.
Why they chose this property
While in Hana we enjoy planting and maintaining the various fruit trees we have growing. The property used to be solid jungle. It has taken many years to clear and replant the land. We now can enjoy the hard work and indulge in all the delicious fresh fruit! The properties in our neighborhood are one half acre and more, so there is plenty of privacy and quiet evenings. Our property is one acre with many plantings to ensure privacy. We have had our lava wall built along the road and a hibiscus hedge that almost grows the length of it. This screens the road and adds to our privacy.
What makes this property unique
The Hana area is a truly unique and wonderful place where you can get away from a hectic pace and recharge! Fresh fish, fresh fruit and great hiking and beaches along with the welcoming atmosphere, make Hana the perfect get away!
Most morning we take a short walk to Waianapanapa State Park. It is magical walking through the shade of the kamani nut trees to open up to the view of beautiful black lava arches, brilliant blue ocean and striking green plants. The coastal trails are the same the ancient Hawaiians used to travel the island. The walk also winds around the camping and picnic area have all been redone with handicap access to look outs and handrails. A picture perfect view in any direction!
