Algiers, a neighbourhood in New Orleans, is home to this cottage. Bourbon Street and Magazine Street are notable landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Port of New Orleans and Julia Street Cruise Terminal. The Carriage House was the most perfect getaway for our trip to New Orleans! We loved the area so much, that we are even strongly considering moving there soon! Everything was perfect and had so much charm. We definitely plan on visiting again soon! The hosts couldn’t have been more hospitable, and we can’t praise our stay enough!
Host family was very friendly and hospitable. We were in town only for one night for the SugarBowl…..but we see the cottage as a wonderful week rental for a vacation coming soon!
We loved staying at the carriage house. The inside and outside were charming. I must say the location couldn’t be beat. We walked to the local restaurants and bars and took the ferry over to the French Quarter. The house itself had everything you needed. I would definitely stay here again.
Semi pet friendly - my dogs were welcome, for additional price, but their dog was in the back yard the entire time where the carriage house is, so it was difficult to walk my dogs and couldn’t just go right outside. Hosts were very friendly and gave us privacy. Bathroom leaves a little to be fissured but functioned fine. The only complaint I have is the heating and cooking issue - first night there we went to bed and it was so hot upstairs where bed is, that we couldn’t breathe and had to both go downstairs and sleep on a small futon couch (not comfy at all). Then once downstairs we froze to death!! It was like 100 upstairs and negative 10 downstairs!! First night was miserable - other than that it was ok. We finally figured out how to adjust the temp, to the best it could be, and did sleep upstairs the final two nights, although it was still very warm and downstairs still required robe and socks!!
It was a charming little cottage in a very quiet neighborhood. The location was ideal for daily travel to the French Quarter using the Ferry and for walking to local spots.
