We enjoyed our stay at the River cabin! It was a great cabin for 4adults and our 2 dogs. The location is beautiful with a river view and the fall leaves! Everything was clean and cosy! We'll plan to be back again! Linda
My family and I enjoyed our time on the Shenandoah. The hosts were wonderful to work with. The house was very clean and well kept. While my guys spent much of their time fishing in the river, the dogs and I greatly enjoyed the screened in porch. We would definitely stay at this property again.
If you’re on the fence with this property just do it! It surpassed my expectations. I was somewhat worried about amenities before hand but they had an abundance!! Board games, fully stocked kitchen, FAST WiFi, hot tub, gas grill, fire pit and wood to go with it! It even seemed there were a couple of canoes! It made
Bad water in hot tub. It was drained and refilled. Only then it was worse. Then left that way for the week. Broken cooking equipment, and tools. We left early.
My graduate school colleague and I came to this listing to work on our dissertations. We needed some peace and quiet--but after many hours in coffee shops and library study rooms, we also wanted to work somewhere where taking a break would really feel like a break. This was the absolute perfect location. It was amazing to take lunch breaks by the river and to reward ourselves for a long day of writing with time in the hot tub or by the fire pit.
This would be a great place for a low key vacation too. Just a few suggestions for those who really want to get the most out of their time here: 1) bring binoculars! Tons of wildlife to watch and I had to use my regular eyes. Boo. 2) Bring bottled water to drink and for coffee. The water has a very strong mineral taste--normal for the area but takes some getting used to. 3) Bring slippers--the upper level is nice and toasty but the lower level with the tiled floors can get pretty cold. Couldn't be happier with this place and I'd like to stay here again.
