Beautiful Hillside Lodge

Enjoy lake breezes from our elegantly furnished log cabin, Hillside Lodge. Complete with all modern conveniences including jacuzzi bathtub, washer/dryer, cable TV. 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, 2 full kitchens,2 dining rooms ,living room, sleeps 10 comfortably. With its separate eating and sleeping areas,it is ideal for larger parties.

Hillside Lodge sits across the road from the lake on the perfectly private peninsula at Cedar Cliff and has its own private floating deepwater dock with boat slip. It sits high on the hill. Enjoy the expansive deck and gas-fired grill.This property gives you a wonderful lake vacation!

Note:This property is best suited for active individuals!
It is not suited to the infirm or the handicapped. The stairs are steep,and there is a walk down the hill to the dock.

We require a full weeks rental over the 4th of July Holiday.

Clean and roomy for a large group.

We enjoyed the property. The house is roomy and our grandchildren enjoyed the lower floor while we enjoyed the main floor. The house was very clean. We enjoyed the boat pier. We could have used more towels. I ended up using my beach towel to bathe. Please know the stairs in the house are very steep as is the walk to the boat pier. We would go back.

Lovely time!

The house was good for our group of 5-6 adults and two tweens. We spent a lot of time at the dock swimming. We brought a boat and the private dock was great. The deck off the front of the house was our breakfast spot. The stairs in house were steep but manageable. The host was very responsive. This area of Georgia is beautiful.

Nice place with nearby private dock

The property is nice cabin, and the manager was helpful. The kitchen is well stocked. We used the dock for fishing kayaks and a pontoon. Our party enjoyed our stay. Beware, the stairs are extremely narrow and steep.

Beautiful

This property is fantastic! It has real log cabin, rustic feel inside but with all the luxuries you could ask for. We sat on the huge deck most of the trip and just enjoyed the Fall weather and fellowship with family. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get away to the mountains.

This lodge was beautiful and we had plenty of room for my large family.

We spent our Christmas at this lodge and it was wonderful. As a bonus we were blessed with a white Christmas, which made the stay more memorable. Management was nice and accessible. It was a very pleasant experience.

The house accommodated the 6 of us adults but would have been too crowded if the original 9 adults had been able to go. We didn't have enough utensils but otherwise, the kitchen had everything we needed and was placed in the drawers so neatly. Both sets of stairs were very steep and, at times, we were crawling up and down them. Just an FYI - the doors opening onto the deck would not lock. We had to use a tie around the handles to secure it. The deck was very nice and we enjoyed sitting out there. We didn't use the dock but a few of us ventured down the hill to see it. It has a beautiful view and we enjoyed sitting there dangling our feet in the water. Overall, the stay was enjoyable but if older adults want to stay there, the stairs would be a big issue.

Gathering Place

The cabin was large with plenty of bedrooms. The cabin and area around it was beautiful. The steps to the second and third floor are very tall and steep. We had a great time with family.

Great spacious house

Our stay was great, the cabin is beautiful and very spacious. The only thing that was disappointing was not have a working fireplace or being able to do a bonfire outside. Other than that the house is great and the area was very nice and quiet.

Listing not true

Listed as having lake and mountain views. Many trees blocked views. Listed as having a jacuzzi; it was a bathtub and not a hot tub and most people would assume a jacuzzi to be. Listing did not say this house has a communal laundry and all the rentals in the area do their laundy here. Noisy all day. Pathway to dock was extremely steep and neither my wife or I could get to the dock. Listing should have pointed this out. TV reception was poor and we could not get many stations. Propery manager was rather rude and acknowledged to my daughter some of the above problems and indicated that others had also pointed them out. Indoor stairways were extremely steep and not built according to regular stairways. I was charged for some damage that we could not have caused as we never touched a window sill as we never opened a window. I would not recommend this house.

Summer in Paradise!

My wife, son and I had the best time at Chatuge Lake. We stayed at the Hillside Lodge, which had both a rustic look, yet all of the modern appliances and conveniences you could want. The Lodge was impeccably maintained and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There was a full jet tub in the upstairs bathroom off of the master bedroom which we enjoyed and there was ample room. In fact it would be a great deal for a large family or even two families as it had two complete kitchens, one upstairs and one downstairs. The lodge was beautifully decorated with a comfortable leather couch and chic country furniture. But we weren't in the lodge that much because we spent our time on the lake, fishing, boating and jet skiing. My son found some friends his own age and had a blast playing air hockey with them on the air hockey game provided at the Hillside Lodge and doing all of the lake activities. My wife and I enjoyed taking long walks together and relaxing in the serene mountain setting. The owner and staff went above board to make us feel welcome and pampered. I'd highly recommend staying at the Hillside Lodge. It was the bast vacation I've had in years. I'm definately going back next year!! Thanks! Don Devers, Hollywood, Florida
