Just back from a wonderful week spent in Maison Quarante. The villa far surpassed our expectations. With 19 guests the villa was under no pressure whatsoever. Each bedroom had its own en suite with some even having baths as well. There were portable AC machines in most rooms and fans in some as well, although a couple of those did not work. However the villa was not unbearably hot as the windows were large and allowed plenty of fresh to circulate There were many rooms in which to relax and the garden and pool area were superb. Add to that the table tennis , boules , badminton rackets and playing cards , piano, guitars and ukulele and we certainly had no reason to be bored! We used the kitchen extensively and the fridges and freezer were a great help. The ice machine was a little temperamental though but we survived! The other area for special mention has to be the sun rooms at the end of the garden. With subtle lighting , a fire pit, a huge barbecue and soft seating as well as three large tables and about 20 chairs we spent many nights there talking and of course having a couple of glassss of wine and beer.The local Bar Quarante was a very short walk from the house and we ate and drank there many times over the week, special mention to Diego who was a wonderful host every time we visited.All in all we could not have had a more enjoyable stay in the most wonderful villa. Charlotte was on hand at all times to ensure we wanted for nothing. Would rate this 10/10

A wonderful family holiday

Quarante is a charming old village, with a wonderful bakery, set in the beautiful French countryside and the mansion is a wonderful place for a large group to stay. We had 10 adults and 8 children in our family group and there was more than enough space for us all. The large garden with its pool is a huge asset. The property is old and despite the renovation to include modern features such as numerous bathrooms it is full of character. The kitchen is well equiped (although we were unable to use the microwave) and providing meals and coffee for our group was not a problem. The local agent was helpful and responsive and also runs a catering business which meant she was able to assist us providing delicious food and balloons for a family party. We enjoyed days out to the beach and to Carcassonne and also took a boat trip along Canal du Midi. We all had the most wonderful holiday and would definitely return.

Geweldig

Het verblijf in Maison Quarante was geweldig. Het Maison en de vila zijn van alle gemakken voorzien. En ook al was het zwembad niet verwarmd, met mooi weer was het alsnog heerlijk! Wat een mooie huizen en omgeving!We hebben 2 keer gebruik gemaakt van de catering 'Aux petits bonheurs de Chacha'. Chacha en haar man zijn geweldig, het eten was heerlijk, onderlinge communicatie perfect. Echt een hele fijne luxe aanvulling op onze vakantie. Enige minpunt om mee te geven is dat er wat keukenapparatuur toe is aan vervanging.
