About this property
Quaint Cottage Style Home by Lake Wequaquet Steps to Private Association Beach
'The Nook' is a 3 bedroom cottage/ranch style house in a small, quiet, child safe neighborhood, tucked away from all the hustle & bustle of Hyannis yet close enough when a "night out on the town" is needed. There are numerous shops & restaurants, ferry's to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard and the famous Cape Cod Melody Tent with it's summer concert series. The house is just steps (200 Ft.) to the private association beach with dock on beautiful Lake Wequaquet. The lake/beach has a sandy bottom and is perfect for kids who like to swim and jump off a dock. In the evenings you can even enjoy the spectacular sunsets while the kids fish off the end of the dock. This is a great place to get away from it all, relax and enjoy quality time with your family. Sit on one of 2 outdoor decks and enjoy the lake view while dining on our oversized picnic table or just curl up on one of our lounge chairs with a good book for some peace & quiet. If your interested in the ocean (5 minute drive), one the best beaches on the cape is Craigville Beach, which has life guards and snack shack.
The homes 1st bedroom (queen) is off of the living room with view of the lake, 2nd & 3rd bedrooms (full & 2 twins) are located in back of house off dining room. The living room, dining room & kitchen have cathedral ceilings with ceiling fans, 1 full bath with laundry, fully equipped kitchen, cable TV, DVD, Wi-Fi, AC units in each bedroom (no central AC), gas grill, picnic table, lounge chairs & 2 hammocks. Also provide 4 beach chairs for renters to use.

The Nook was just as described. It was cozy, comfortable & relaxing. The lake was beautiful & the location is convenient to check out other spots on the Cape. Wendy was so kind & always quick with a text response if needed. We had the best time & we hope to come back again!
Spectacular stay at the Nook. Our second stay at this gem of a cottage. The lake is beautiful and it is centrally located on the cape. Our family could not love this place more!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Nook. Nice, cozy cottage. The location is unbeatable! Quiet nabe, steps to a wonderful lake great for swimming and fishing, and ideal central location to all that the Cape has to offer. Would recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay at The Nook! Our young kids had a great time splashing and wading in the lake — nice sandy area, warm water in late August. House was cozy, perfect for our family of four. Easy drive to shops and the beach. Highly recommended!
This house was in a perfect location. Very private but still close to everything. Kitchen was very well stocked. Really appreciated our host! Highly recommend
The Nook is exactly as advertised. The little cottage has everything you need. Wendy the owner was very responsive with any question we had and helped us very quickly when we accidentally locked ourselves out.
We live in Centerville, but our house was filled with family visiting for the week, so rented the Nook for our daughter, son-in-law and two young children. They absolutely loved the cozy cottage and the secluded location, especially a view of the lake from the cottage. They would all love to return next summer!
I brought my 15 year old son and 2 of his friends for a wonderful week on Lake Wequaquet, and the Nook was the perfect place to rest and relax. We created so many fun memories in the beautiful lake as well as the cottage (the Nook). The easy access to the lake’s beach and dock was perfect, (it was so private, we barely had to share the beach with any other people, not that we would have minded, because everyone is so friendly in the neighborhood.) The Nook was the best place for us to stay because of its ideal size, (3 bedrooms) and it is well equipped for a full week on the Cape. The kitchen has everything you would need, the beds are very comfortable and the decor is quintessential Cape Cod. The location (at least for our family) is perfect. Close enough to Hyannis and the north side. If you are looking for a relaxing, easy and memorable week on the Cape, you could do no better than the Nook.

A little slice of heaven on the Cape
Recently returned from a visit to Cape Cod with friends and had the good luck of booking The Nook. Our party of 4 was extremely comfortable in this charming lakeside cottage - we had plenty of room to spread out and it had everything you could need in a home away from home. The location was perfect - close to Hyannis (great for taking the ferry to Nantucket/Martha's Vineyard) and easy to get to all points on the Cape. The cottage itself has an historic charm and sits a quick two minute walk to a lovely quiet lake through some beautiful woods. From the porch, where we ate breakfast, we could see the lake and the dock became our favorite spot to sip champagne and watch the sunset with perfect western views. Wendy, our host, was wonderful to deal with, very helpful with extending extra time for check in/out and offering suggestions to local sights. When we realized one of the beds did not have linens, she responded immediately and brought them right over - excellent service! About the only complaint, aside from some aggressive mosquitos at the lake (which can hardly be Wendy's fault) was the two smaller bedrooms were on the darker side. The wood paneling that gives them charm also makes it a bit dim in there, but this could easily be remedied with an extra light fixture and was not a deal breaker in any way for us. We would, and hope to, get back to The Nook again soon!
La petite plage était géniale. On l'a eu pratiquement pour nous seuls. L'endroit est charmant et la petite attention du départ a été appréciée. Merci pour tout.
We really enjoyed staying at the Nook, swimming in Lake Wequaquet, enjoying coffee on the porch, and swinging in the hammocks. It's also conveniently located and quiet. The owner let us borrow sand toys as well, which was nice. Note that the place does not include beach towels so bring those.
My husband and I stayed at the Nook for July and overall had a lovely experience. It’s a typical older Cape cottage but has been well maintained and was quite comfortable. The window AC units are a bit noisy and when we asked for window fans, Wendy provided two new ones which were much appreciated. She always answered our calls promptly and I’m sure if there had been any problems that she would have taken care of them quickly and pleasantly.
The location of the cottage is convenient to everything and being on the lake is a nice change from the ocean beaches. The water is very clear and the temperature is just right. Because we drove, we brought noodles and it would be nice if there were some of those and maybe some rings for guests to use. This is a family neighborhood with few rentals but everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. It’s very quiet and peaceful and feels far removed from the hustle and bustle of the Cape.
My family enjoyed our stay at the Nook. The location is unbeatable, suitable for day trips to every corner of cape cod, and minutes from most amenities on the Cape. The property itself is well-kept and had everything we needed. A final note that the host, Wendy went out of her way to provide us with supplies in case a hurricane that was scheduled to hit the Cape during our time there knocked the power out (thankfully the storm never materialized).
The Nook was absolutely perfect for my family. We loved the secluded feeling and the quiet that surrounds the pond. My kids loved swimming and floating in the pond (which looks more like a lake to us--it was surprisingly big) on the off days we weren't exploring the rest of the cape. The location was great for easy access to beautiful Centerville and the neighboring towns. The house was extremely clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked and even had a few extra dry goods in case you forget something. It was a charming home with an attentive host that was perfectly inviting, and we can't wait to return!
From the moment I saw The Nook online to the moment we checked out, perfect!
Booking was a breeze and the owners were delightful and communicative all the way throughout. We all felt very much at home and every wish was met.
Location was wonderfully convenient and also tucked away.
House was large but felt very warm and welcoming.
Every amenity needed was available yet we felt very much on vacation from it all.
We will book again! Can’t wait to go back!
We loved how we were on the lake; it felt secluded and quiet. We rented kayaks and spent time swimming and enjoying the atmosphere. We were also really close to Craigville Beach so we were also able to enjoy the ocean - love that beach. Hyannis center was so close, as well as, many other beaches and restaurants. We were glad to be there and will hopefully stay again in the future.
The home was also very clean and had a cozy feel.
Our family had an awesome week long stay at the Nook! Our two boys loved it! Great location, close to everything you might need. The sunsets off the dock were absolutely beautiful. Wendy was so nice and helpful with any questions I had. The Nook is so cute and the quintessential Cape Cod cottage. We will definitely be back!
