One minute's walk from the beach, Placid Cottage located at 'Plumtucket' -is a charming 1½ story year-round cottage artfully designed & appointed. Placid Cottage offers an island ambiance and dramatic interiors!

This one-bedroom that sleeps four is stunning! 17' ceilings, central air, 2-car parking! This cottage has an open breezy living space, a modern (gas range, microwave, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops) fully appointed and applianced (everything from a crockpot to a submersible blender) kitchen, a cozy gas fireplace, a top of the line comfy queen bed, a memory foam pullout and a relaxed comfortable outside dining area complete with a gas grill. Although you are away, stay connected with wi-fi and streaming music and video through the flat screen. The island has everything you need. However, if you must head off island, city amenities abound in Newburyport, which include shopping, farm to table restaurants, bars with live music, performing art centers, free concerts and much more.

Walk to beach & Parker River Wildlife Refuge.

This is a fantastic hideaway for a weekend or long lazy week and is in a wonderful quiet tucked away location.

Blissful Stay!

We had a wonderful weekend! The cottage was perfect! Clean and well equipped! We absolutely love the area. So many great restaurants and things to do! The host is very organized and has thought of everything you could possible need! We will definitely return!

Great cottage and location for two

It’s rare to find a vacation property for two people that has all the amenities, is in a great location, and is actually affordable. Plumtucket checks all the boxes, and Ed is a great host.

Sweet cottage full of light

This cute cottage is Incredibly peaceful and quiet and in a wonderful location steps from the beach. It is clean and uncluttered with vaulted ceilings, many windows and a cozy fireplace. One thing that few people have mentioned…this cottage is on plum island and access to one of the world’s premiere birding beaches and salt marshes is phenomenal - bring your binoculars and expect to be wowed! We saw many many rare birds, including the piping plover - a highly protected indicator species - only 4000 or less left in the world!

Super Cottage

We had a great time. The cottage is beautiful. It had everything that you could require. The location is fantastic. Downtown Newburyport is a 5 - 10 minute ride down the road. The only issue was the access to the beach was just a little too steep. It seems that it could be regraded as a more gradual walkway. We found ways around that and had a great time. We highly recommend Placid Plumtucket Cottages. Dave&Diane C.

Plum Paradise

This was the perfect place for the escape that I needed! The cottage was as pictured...beautiful and clean with everything you would need. Close to the beach, and a short drive to Newburyport for great restaurants and ambiance of a seaside town. I can't wait to go back :)

Short walk to uncrowded beach

The cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Just a short walk to the beach that was only busy on the 4th of July. We enjoyed the cottage very much.

Our stay on Plum Island was wonderful. The home was beautiful. It had everything we needed and was exceptionally clean. It was easy to reach out to Edward and he was very responsive. I would stay here again.

A true sanctuary

The cabin is charming. I love the high ceilings it makes the small size seem larger, light and airy. The skylights are very effective in bringing in light as well. I like the little yard and would spend time there if it weren't winter. The Parker River Wildlife reserve is open daily, and I would go out to the different trails often. Newburyport is the town where my grandfather spent his youth so exploring was fun. It is easy to get to New Hampshire and Maine to experience the scenery, parks and towns in the surrounding areas. I would recommend staying here to discerning families but especially to solo travelers like myself. AAAPlus

Refuge

The cottage is charming. It has a small footprint but does not feel claustrophobic because the ceilings are high and there are large windows and skylights. It is adjacent to the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. I go out there often to walk the boardwalks and beach areas. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and pans to do most cooking projects. Altogether a lovely experience.
