This was hands down our worst VRBO rental experience (and we have had many, most recently in Gatlinburg, TN at the end of February which was AMAZING). Our experience started out poorly upon checking into our unit to find trash on the floor, dried food smudges all over the island, dried / burnt debris all over the glass of the gas fireplace, trash cans full of trash in the garage, dry wall debris all over the garage floor from water damage on the ceiling (who would park their car in the garage with the potential of damage to your car from falling debris?), extremely dirty dishes in the cabinets/drawers, food crumbs in the leather chair and stains all over the couches in the living room, 3 feet of snow covering the deck & patio furniture and draining ice water all over the hot tub on the deck below, ice chunks around the hottub resulting in my husband slipping when trying to unstrap the hottub cover.I immediately called the Management company who informed me that we checkd in 20 min early and that the process was for someone to inspect the unit after the cleaners finished / before checkin time. We then waited in our car for the 20 min remaining until our checkin time of 4:00PM only to have the cleaning person come back at 4:00 to do a quick surface clean of the island counters and the fireplace glass. Another person showed up to shovel the deck only to spend 5 min shoveling and then leaving without saying anything to us and leaving 90% of the snow remaining on the deck.
