Best place to stay in Amsterdam, if you want to feel like a local.

Hello, We are Cido and Rob, the owners of two beautifully furnished apartments with heart-stirring view over the historic Prinsengracht, one of the most lively canals in the heart of Amsterdam. Since 2011, we have been welcoming guests from all over the world. They all fall in love with the place and the amazing city of Amsterdam. Many of them return; there is so much to discover here. We live in the same building and we provide 24-hours assistance to make you feel like home. We love sharing insider addresses and some of Amsterdam’s best hidden gems. So be prepared to have the quintessential experience of living like a local. We promise you will never forget your stay in Amsterdam!

Location:
We are in the heart of Amsterdam, in the residential and smart shopping area called Jordaan. Jordaan is the most popular and historic part of Amsterdam, with small cafes, bars, restaurants, boutiques, organic food and antique markets. The apartments have a spectacular view to the 17th-century Noorderkerk (North church) and many houseboats. Sunsets are breathtaking.
Everything is within walking distance:
Central Station -10min
Anne Frank’s House and Westerkerk (West church), where Rembrandt was buried - 5 min
Dam square, the 17th-century Royal Palace and Madame Tussauds, the world famous wax works museum - 8 min
Shopping: 9 straatjes/Nine Streets - the chic indie boutique district, Haarlemmerstraat, the Bijenkorf, Kalverstraat- the main shopping area in Amsterdam - 5-10 min
Museums Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, Hermitage, Stadelijk - 20-30 min
Grocery stores Albert Heijn, Jumbo - 2min, Markt organic grocery - 5min
Across the street, on the other side of the canal:
Noordermarkt - antique and organic food market
Winkel 73, best apple pie in Amsterdam
Café ‘Papeneiland’, one of the oldest café’s in Amsterdam. Don’t forget to ask the barman to show you the entrance to the secret tunnel than was dug in the 17th century.
Parks: Westerpark 10min and Vondelpark - 20min

Our apartment
We have two 1 bedroom (2 rooms) apartment in an historical building ( built 1707). The flat are on the third floor. The rooms are handsomely decorated with antique and vintage furniture, with some modern and industrial touches. The living room is very bright, with  two big windows overlooking the canal.  Imagine sitting by the windows on a sunny afternoon, with a glass of wine, watching the passing parade of people, boats and bike (hardly any cars!). The street is not so crowded and noisy, as central Amsterdam might be, but with plenty of life.
The bedroom has a comfortable double bed and a big closet. It is quiet and spacious, just perfect to enjoy a good night’s sleep.
The apartment comes with a fully equipped open concept kitchen: fridge, oven, dishwasher, coffee and tea maker, dining wares,

We offer complimentary high speed Wi-Fi, coffee, tea, and welcoming wine.

The laundry room is located in the common area, on the main floor of the building. There is a washer and a dryer, both coin operated. The cost is E1.50 for each washer and dryer.

We are a couple loves traveling and always trying to rent an apartments during our trips just to feel as we are living in that country. First thing we do is trying to find a local markets ,do shopping and cooking at our new home.So when we have the second apartment in the same building we decided to give this opportunity to our guests in the best part of Amsterdam. So our guests are being also our neighbors. It became a hobby for us while I am working as a dentist and my husband works as an engineer.

Why they chose this property

We live also in the same building so we decided that 2 apartment is too much for us and began to rent it to our guests since 2010

What makes this property unique

This is the most popular area called Jordaan with many small cafes and restaurants.During the day it is always alive with street musicians, boats or somedays with local markets .At nights it is so peaceful and safe and you hardly hear trafic although the apartment is located centrum centrum. It is 2 minutes walking distance to Anna frank's house and 20 minutes to the museums. There are many uniek shops around and 2 parks .Train station is 10 minutes walking distance. So you dont need any public transport. The view from the apartment is delightful with boat houses and the view of Norden church. All the day you can watch passing of boats on the prinsencanal. My favourite ritual is going to saturday market just across the house to buy weekly fresh flowers and fish to cook for weekend. We are sure you will also enjoy beeing here as we are enjoying since 12 years.
