Disappointed

I have stayed at this house before and gave it a five star rating. The home itself, with some minor cleanliness issues i.e. several cigarette butts on the front steps landing, garbage can at the entrance of the front door, was basically the same. The management company on the other hand leaves much to be desired.

A WEEK OF SNOWMOBILING!

Great time with 10 adults and 2 kids. Came up for a week of snowmobiling, during the thaw, and had to ride the bare pavement to get to the trails, but once it snowed again, it was great! Check-in was easy, but the walk up the front steps carrying all your stuff was challenging.Bedrooms were perfect for our group, however, the basement bedrooms were just downright cold. Had to adjust the thermostat to 75 just to get it to 65 degrees in the basement, then the upstairs was just too warm. Beds were comfy and plenty of blankets & pillows available. The “walk-in cooler” (as we called it) aka the 3-season porch, was a great place to store soda, drinks, and anything else that wouldn’t fit into the fridge.Loved the heated garage for our snowmobiles, but it was a walk down the driveway. Then thaw sent all the snow sliding off the roof crashing into our trailers. Called the owner and he had a plow guy out there within hours, so while waiting, we shoveled to get the trailers out. Needs more parking for big trailers for the snowmobilers. The place could use a dusting. Grill was buried in the snow after asking if accessible. Kitchen had plenty of dinnerware & cooking utensils, but lots of expired food in the cupboards, which I threw away. Two laundry rooms was nice to have, but owner should make the upstairs one a bathroom. Only one bathroom on the main floor that everyone used, the other is attached to the bedroom. Overall, a decent place, just a few tweeks to make it awesome

Snowmobile Getaway

Great location in the UP of Michigan for snowmobile paradise. House was well furnished with plenty of space and all amenities for day to day cooking etc. Barn was well equipped for any fixes to your machines and heated as well for a great hang out spot and to dry off your riding gear. Thank you again for being a great host.

Beautiful Location! Great Property!

We had a wonderful stay during our first trip to Michigan’s UP over Thanksgiving break! The home is exactly as described & very well appointed (especially if you snowmobile). The views of Lake Superior are spectacular and the trail and beach were awesome. We came to enjoy the dark skies and the possibility of catching some Northern Lights or finding Yooperlites, and although we didn’t have any luck with those (bc of a lake effect snowstorm), we still loved the gorgeous scenery & tranquil location and had a blast during our short stay. We hope to return in the summer! Thanks for sharing your home!

Fall Get Away

We loved the property! It is helpful to know (if you have little experience with the area) that you have a few small flights of stairs to get to the path that leads through the woods to the lakeshore. The path is well kept, but if you have someone with you with limited mobility it would/could be challenging. It has small hills and roots as it's a wooded path. Then you have a small sand dune directly before the beach. The house is delightful. The kitchen is well stocked and we enjoyed that there was a crockpot! It truly is a special place.

Beautiful home. Beautiful location.

First of all, the house is absolutely beautiful, fitting perfectly on the shore of Lake Superior. The various entertainment spaces were big and spacious to comfortably host many people (we had 11 + a toddler) and everything you would need was available. The water views were stunning and the amenities and furnishings were classy and comfortable for all ages. The only downside we saw to the home was the amount of stairs. To get to Superior, you had to walk down many stairs and follow a well groomed trail. It took about 3 minutes in total but was tiring if you forgot something and had to return to the beach. The beach was beautiful though, with white sand, drift wood and large rocks to pick up and down the beach. The stairs outside leading from the main floor to the walkout basement was a bit unsafe in my opinion, as it was missing a handrail on one side. But we had such a wonderful time and the host was great in correspondences and providing check-in/out instructions.
