The "guest suite" is a private space inside of a larger home. Since the home was originally built as a single family home, noise can travel easily inside - we love quiet guests and single travelers!
✓Fully private suite - all spaces are private (bedroom, living room, and bathroom). ✓Kitchenette area with coffee station, mini-fridge, and microwave ✓Permit parking available for $3/night ✓Prime location! Walk times: High St. dining and nightlife < 10 minutes OSU Wexner Medical < 15 minutes
The space is in the first floor of a multi-unit building, in what was originally a living room and dining room, with original hardwood floors, chandeliers, and stained glass windows. The suite has a private entrance and includes private use of the front porch (which has a lovely porch swing). The bedroom has a queen bed.
*****
Noise: This is a suite inside of an early 1900s house. It is NOT soundproofed like modern apartments. We love quiet guests! If you are coming to Columbus to stay up late and party, please do not stay here.
If you hear excessive noise in the building after 9pm, please let us know and we will address it. Guests in violation of this policy will be asked to leave.
*****
Kitchen: There is no access to a full kitchen. There is a mini fridge, a microwave, a Brita filter, and coffee pot in the bedroom. We do not provide kitchen utensils, silverware, or plates in this unit - it's best for a short term stay for business travel or for guests who might want to reheat some leftovers but otherwise won't be doing much cooking.
*****
Parking: We will have a guest permit available for street parking. There is an additional cost of $3/night.
*****
TV: There is a TV in the unit with a Chromecast provided and few local TV channels are available through a digital tuner (no cable).

We will provide a code for the keypad lock on your arrival day.

This neighborhood is in the perfect location between Ohio State and the Short North. Our street and the nearby ones have some beautiful grand Victorian homes. This neighborhood draws a healthy blend of graduate students, young professionals, and families. Many of the grand Victorian homes have been split up into multiple units, like this one!
Here are just a few of the places you can easily get to on foot: ~3 minutes to carry-out / convenience store at 5th and Highland) ~3 minutes to Stauf's on Neil (coffee shop) ~5 minutes to High Street (North High Brewing, Condado Tacos, Paulie Gee's Pizza, Kroger grocery store, bars, shopping, and restaurants) ~10 minutes to Ohio State's central campus ~15 minutes to Wexner Medical Center ~20 minutes to Ohio Stadium ~30 minutes to Kemba Live (music venue) ~30 minutes to Columbus Convention Center ~30 minutes to Nationwide Arena
For guests staying 7 nights or more, laundry will be available in the basement, between 9am and 9pm, any day except Sunday.
The sliding pocket doors that separate the bedroom (queen bed) from the living room area have been damaged, so one of them does not move and has been secured in place. The other door still slides closed to separate the bedroom from living area.
This is an older building and the air conditioning is provided by a large “portable” window unit which sits on the floor in the bedroom. It is a large 8000 BTU system, which is rated to cool a space of up to 350 sq ft (which is about the size of the suite). We have found that the system can only maintain a 10-15 degree differential over the outside temperature. This means that if it’s 95 degrees outside, temperatures in the suite can reach around 80 degrees even with the AC system running all day. We can provide extra fans on request, but if you are booking during the heat of the summer, we think our place is best for 1 or 2 guests (this way you can close the sliding doors and keep the AC concentrated in the bedroom area).
*Special note about air quality* Our upstairs tenant has a cat (in another part of this building). We have been hosting for a while, and we've found that maybe 1 in 100 guests have noticed a cat smell. Most people (including us) can't smell anything - but - if you are very sensitive to smells or you have cat allergies, we do NOT recommend booking our place. We do provide an air purifier in the bedroom to help keep the air as clean as possible!
The TV does not have cable access. It is a “smart” TV only with a digital tuner that gets just a few local live channels. You will need to log into your own streaming accounts to play content on the TV.

Great, convenient stay for our trip. The house is creaky and you can hear every noise from the upstairs unit. The space was cute and parking was easy to find and understand. Everything in the listing was accurate and the host was incredibly easy to contact, which is nice to find in a location!
This was a wonderful location, walking distance from bus lines, restaurants, bars, and other shoppes. The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. The air conditioning worked well, lighting was fine, and the bed was very comfortable.
Hosts were communicative, friendly and so helpful with all our concerns (flying in late and parking), place is unique and rustic, but clean and homey. Felt like home away from home and added amenities (towels, shampoo, dishes, storage) were great! Would love to stay again
Loved the place. Lots of charm and the location was perfect. It had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. Can't wait to book this place when the weather is warmer. On street parking was not a problem.
We stayed one night, the check-in was super easy, and the place was really clean. I didn't see the email about a parking pass until late in the day and they took care of it immediately.

Everything was nice! Loved that everything is walking distance.
I would say that the bed is hard, it’s a nice bed but I have a bad back so I prefer a bed that is softer, other than that, it’s perfect.
