Cute cabin, but...
The cabin itself is adorable, however...the owner failed to mention in the description that there are gaping holes all over the cabin from wood that has warped over time. Due to this, the cabin cannot seem to make it under 78-80* during the day. In the middle of the night around 2 or 3am, the cabin will reach a comfortable 70*. We spent over $600 for 2 nights and my son could not even sleep in the upstairs loft due to my fear of him overheating. I had my son sleep with me in the bedroom right under the fan. My husband took the recliner, positioned it right next to a vent in the living room and fashioned a sheet over the vent and over himself in the recliner creating a cooled off space for him to sleep. In addition to all of this, the couch is hard as a rock and looks like it was purchased for $10 from the local thrift shop. The recliner was old, but comfortable enough. The dining room table was not stable and shook/wobbled constantly when in use. Bottom line: I love staying in rustic cabins in beautiful towns like Fredericksburg. I've stayed in my share of these type places via VRBO and others - i've really loved them all, except this place. We have spent the entire summer taking care of my dad post surgery and wanted a relaxing weekend. We couldn't even all hang out together in the living room because no one could get comfortable in the HOT, terribly furnished room. ALSO, if you drive a car, DO NOT park in the drive way. My husband's car is all scraped due to slope.

Girls getaway
The cabin was perfect. We were looking for a quiet time with peaceful surroundings. When not checking out the great town of Fredericksburg, we enjoyed sitting on the porch with the funny momma cardinal flitting back and forth protecting her nest. The view of the cattle grazing in the pasture across the street was so relaxing. Great cabin. I highly recommend it.

Cozy but silent
We had a great stay. Very comfortable and cozy cabin they got. Not far from the main thoroughfare or the attractions in town, but it also felt very private, even like being out in the country. We were discussing all weekend whether it was renovated or built to look old fashioned. Either way, we would stay there again. The only thing I didn't love was that I had practically no communication with the managers. I hope my messages got through, but haven't gotten any responses. The only communication I got seemed like an automatic message or standardized email. However, all the information I did receive was 100% correct and we had no issues getting in or any trouble with the property. If you're looking for a cozy and (practically) secluded cabin with absolutely zero interference from the owners, I highly recommend Das Eck Haus.
