About this property

Hillside Hideaway in Lowertown Harpers Ferry

A 1940s 2 bed 2 bath cottage built into a cliff in lowertown Harpers Ferry! Freshly remodeled and updated with an artist’s touch. Free parking onsite and literally steps to Jefferson Rock, the AT and the National Historical Park.

Outside space is magical. Perched up high with plenty of privacy, you can see the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers - hear them as well - and watch the train coming through the tunnel from Maryland!

1940’s bungalow, built right into a cliff! The outdoor area is fantastic - up above the street and town, Flagstone patio, gazebo, firepit and eating area with grill. Your own private waterfall too! (Coming in spring) Hear the river year round, and great views in the fall/winter! Watch the train come through the tunnel from the front porch.

Inside is newly remodeled by an artist. Full kitchen with dishes and cooking pots and pans. Big screen tv in living room, flat screen tvs in both bedrooms, as well as electric fireplaces. New beds with adjustable headboards and luxury linens. Go right out to the patio from downstairs bedroom / bathroom suite. Upstairs bedroom has angled ceilings and a sitting area - you fell like you are in a treehouse! Walk across the catwalk to the boutique bathroom with soaking tub and sky mural. Host profile image
I starting hosting during covid. I enjoyed it so much that I have been a Superhost continuously, and have grown to have 5 properties! I live in Harpers Ferry and am almost always available! I love meeting my guests and ensuring that they enjoy their visit to our wonderful town!

Why they chose this property

I love Hillside Hideaway because it is one block away from High Street in lower-town, as well as the National Historical Park, both Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers, Jefferson Rock and the Appalachian Trail!

What makes this property unique

Because Hillside Hideaway sits up high above the street, you do not hear the noise below, only the sounds of the river and nature! You are in the heart of lowertown, but feel like you are in a cabin in the woods! You can see the train and tunnel, as well as where the rivers converge.

Choices of outdoor spaces - the front porch, gazebo, or outdoor dining on the deck, fire on the patio.

The interior has just been remodeled. I am an artist and love light and color! The main suite downstairs opens right out to the patio and gazebo. The suite upstairs is very unique, and feels like you are up in the trees! There is limited head height upstairs, which adds to the coziness! Both bedrooms have electric fireplaces, new mattresses with adjustable head heights and smart tvs!
