Outstanding Trip

My husband and I stayed for two nights at this brand new home. It was so new that we were only the second clients to stay. This home exceeded expectations by a long shot. It was beautifully decorated in a very comfortable fashion. All of the furniture (couch, beds, chairs) were very comfy. I liked some of the furniture so much that I may purchase something similar for my home. My husband enjoyed the sauna very much.Ben, the owner, was very easy to communicate with and was very nice about stopping by to help this technically challenged visitor with the tv. The area has a great deal to do and some very good restaurants. Don't miss touring the Antietam Battlefield. Thanks, Ben and Kate for a very enjoyable stay!Debbie and David

Amazing getaway in Harper’s Ferry!!

This place is AMAZING!! ! I cannot say enough great things about this place! Beautifully furnished, and it had everything we needed! The cutest coffee bar was stocked, the bathrooms were stunning and filled with toiletries, and our favorite surprise was the record player with some amazing vinyl choices!!! The hosts were so quick to respond to our questions, and they had amazing recommendations for the area!!! And the sauna out back-what a cool treat to have one all to yourself!!! The beds and pillows were super comfy, and the washer and dryer were key after a long day of hiking!!! Easily within walking distance to Harper’s Ferry (just beware the hike to town is downhill, so just be prepared for the hike back up!) also very close to the little town of Bolivar with an amazing place “The Barn” for live music! Additionally, this place is very close to an entrance to the “Harper’s Ferry Appalachian Train Loop” and the Appalachian Trail Conservatory is a block away! We met some amazing people there with great stories about their hiking adventures!! We would absolute recommend this place 100 times over!!!

About the host

Hosted by Ben Smith

Host profile image
My wife and I have grown up and lived in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia most of our lives. We both work for the Department of Defense and thoroughly enjoy public service. We like being hosts to invest back in our local community and give guests a space to enjoy everything Harpers Ferry and West Virginia have to offer.

Why they chose this property

Harpers Ferry is rich in history, culture, adventure, great food, and so much more! It is a great escape from city life or a new place to explore and create many memories. We highly encourage guests to come check out the local area!

What makes this property unique

The West Virginia made barrel sauna by Almost Heaven saunas is a unique feature of the property, enjoy all the health benefits the sauna has to offer!

The Evo window that opens the kitchen to the screened in porch is another unique aspect of the property, we wanted to seamlessly blend these two living spaces so guests could be in the kitchen prepping a great meal while others enjoy the fire pit on the screened in porch or pass food/drinks back and forth while sitting at the extended countertop in one of the barstools. It’s also an excellent feature if you have young children who want to enjoy the playground but you still need to be inside for any reason and keep eyes/ears on them.

The authentic stone wall in the master bathroom in front of the standalone soaking tub with a crystal chandelier above is an amazing spot to relax and enjoy a nice bath. Additionally, each bathroom has oversized showers with rain shower faucet heads to refresh after a day of hiking, exploring the town, or after a River Riders expedition.

The property is within very close walking distance of all the great attractions that Harpers Ferry has to offer, take a quick stroll to enjoy the shops, local sights, and rich history of the area.
