About this property

Five minute walk to Acadia National Park! Come stay at Adi's Mountain View

Adi's Mountain View is attached to our home where we live year-round. You have your own private entrance and your outdoor space has been designed with your comfort and privacy in mind. All interior space is entirely private and your own. You may see us outside coming and going, gardening, or hunting insects with our young daughter Adi. Say hi if you'd like but we'd like to respect your space and vacation by staying behind the scenes where possible. The entire 7 acre property and rental space are well cared for by us because this is where we call home.

Our property abuts Acadia National Park - leave the rental on foot and hit the trails!

You'll be in the village of Seal Cove within easy driving distance to:
Seal Cove Auto Museum - 5 minutes
Seal Cove Pond - 5 minutes
Beech Hill Farm - 10 minutes
Bass Harbor Light House - 15 minutes
Long Pond - 8 minutes
Pretty Marsh - 4 minutes
Somes Pond - 13 minutes
Echo Lake - 15 minutes
Mountain trailheads (Beech, Acadia, Bernard, Mansell, Bald mountains) - 20 minutes
Town of Southwest Harbor - 20 minutes
Bar Harbor - 25 minutes

We live on a safe dead end road with 6 fabulous neighbors. The whole neighborhood was once farmland and 10 beautiful acres of meadow remain open and undeveloped (we own 6 acres of meadow, with paths for walking). The orientation of your rental and the layout of the property provides a nonstop light show: sunrises, sunsets, moonrises, and on clear night STARS!!

Rural Maine = nature/wildlife/fish/wildflowers/bugs:
If you are interested in plants, water recreation, hiking and wildlife look no further! If not, you can sit by the outdoor fire pit and enjoy the mountain views of Acadia National Park from the rental. The pond at the bottom of the meadow has a max depth of 22 feet and is full of bass, perch, pickerel, brown trout and sunfish. You will find all sorts of birds on the property if you know what you are looking for (marsh birds, song birds, turkey, raptors, owls). The 6 acre meadow is full of native flowers and grasses (see photos) that you can see from the mowed paths we maintain. We don't consider the bugs bad at Adi's Mountain View (no worse than anywhere else on the island), but if you are looking for a 100% bug free vacation you should probably look elsewhere. Part of our road is unpaved, with a few shallow potholes, but is level and easily passable by virtually all vehicles - just drive slow! Children, cats and dogs may be playing in the road.

Perfect Park Access

Our family of three really enjoyed our time at this place! It was a 20 min drive to the main Park entrance and about 25 to Bar Harbor. It was clean, quiet and we saw a few Bucks outside in the back meadow. Would definitely come back!

Acadia and beyond

First time visitor to Acadia NP and didn’t want to be in the hustle bustle of Bar Harbor. This pace was a perfect respite. Beautiful, quiet, well appointed. We loved being able to walk right to the trails. Time on the quiet side of the island was just what we were looking for and still easy to get to all the activities that we were interested in. Hiking biking and kayaking all easily accessible.

What a gem on the quiet side!

We have been going to Acadia for 25 years and have stayed all over the island. Our stay this fall on the “quiet side” might have been our most enjoyable home to date. We were incredibly comfortable in the sparkling clean unit with all cotton sheets covering a great mattress and pillows. At night, we enjoyed the deck with an expansive view of the night sky and the Milky Way. We hope to be able to stay again next fall. Just perfect.

This property gets 5 stars all the way around! Everything about it was perfect. The inside was so clean. Couch and chair were very comfortable as was the bed. Bath towels, wash cloths and linens were of high quality. Nice and soft. There is even an outdoor shower with hot water. That was pretty awesome. The outdoor area of the property is beautiful. Hodgdon Pond is on their property and they have a 2 person high back bench to sit on by the pond. We enjoyed several cups of coffee there as well as the back deck. Awesome views. There is also a fire pit and wood is provided. We took advantage of that a few nights. Felt good to sit and relax after a fun day of exploring all that Bar Harbor and surrounding areas have to offer. You can also enter Acadia National Park just a short walk from the property. This is one of the nicest VRBO properties we have ever stayed.
