Welcome!
Kame Ame House is short for Kameoka American House. I bought this property about 2 years ago and recently (October 17, 2023) got my business permit under Japan's local regulations, hoops and hassles.
The bedrooms face east and living/dining/kitchen room faces west. This is a private and quiet location only about 10mins walking from JR Kameoka station.
You have a nice view of the mountains and trains going by in the distance from the bedrooms.
There is a kids English classroom below this flat, so during the weekdays you can hear young locals practicing English. The lessons finish at 7pm so it’s quiet after that.
The entire house is remodeled and clean and in working order. This is NOT a party house. Long stays are welcome. It is a great work or study environment.

This area is GREAT for bicyclists, artists, nature lovers, anyone who wants to explore Kyoto a little more than just Kyoto city.
Why they chose this property
Kawaramachi is an attractive, convenient and quiet part of Kameoka. From JR Kameoka station it is just a quick train ride to Kyoto station. The Shinkansen can be caught from Kyoto station allowing easy access around Japan if necessary. However, if you start wandering around Kameoka you may fall in love and never want to leave. There are an abundance of activities from hot springs, horseback riding, river rafting, hiking, bicycle-lover roads, Sanga Stadium events, Starbucks, authentic Japanese dining, and much much more.
