Thank you for staying at our house . We hope you return someday soon. Thank you for leaving the house so clean. Putting all the dishes away and stripping the beds. It’s greatly appreciated.
We had a girls weekend and this house provided everything we needed and more. Very nice location. 4 bedrooms and the rooms on the first floor were magnificent. Can’t wait to go back and stay longer than 2 days next time.
Excellent place to stay, lots of room, clean, beautiful property, quiet, remote, exactly what we were looking for. Will definitely stay again when we are back in the area. Highly recommend.
We absolutely loved our stay! The property was unique, incredibly clean, spacious, calm, and comforting. It has so much history and character—it felt a little like spending the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa’s house, in the very best way: warm, welcoming, familiar, and full of charm. There was plenty of room to relax and enjoy time together, and the amazing hot tub was the perfect bonus! Such a peaceful and memorable place to stay. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something special rather than an ordinary rental.I kept lightheartedly joking about it being haunted but for one who “feels” that sort of thing. I felt no haunting at all just peace and tranquility. So if you look at the pics and think that take it from me— whatever the past history in this home was a history of fun, family and togetherness.

Thank you so much. We hope you get to return someday soon for some more relaxing family time .
Great sleeping arrangements, multiple nicely furnished lounge rooms with different environments. Amazing historical feeling while remaining modern. Hosts were quick to respond before and during the stay. Some minor imperfections but still a great value.
We where in town for our daughter's wedding and this was this house was perfect! Plenty od room for the family. The host was amazing and accomidated all of our needs. It was so peaceful, like you stepped baxk into time.
The most beautiful property I have ever had the pleasure to stay. The house is absolutely gorgeous, each room is unique with beautiful antiques and character. Thank you for such a wonderful stay, a memory my family will always cherish!
Professional but homey, beautifully historic home. Enjoyed the hot tub and fluffy towels. Grocery is a bit far so just stock up before going, but the rural countryside and wildlife was a treat for us. We loved it!
This house worked well for us, but our schedule didn't allow us to take advantage of all the amenities. This would be a great spot for a family stay. It has a nice patio on lots of land. The rooms are large and nicely furnished with many antiques.
The house was gorgeous and so spacious. Beds for 8, but 2 big couches. The hot tub and fire pit were truly a bonus! We loved how secluded the property was. The nice big dining room table was perfect for the big gang to eat and play cards.
very lovely property. nice location. easy to find. towns are close enough for fun day trips. wifi works but a little sticky. hot tub is lovely. home owner very responsive. had a very good time away for xmas.
This beautiful homestead was incredibly tranquil and just what the doctor ordered for a weekend getaway. The home was beautiful and beyond comfortable. Even with the property next to a busy road, one couldn't hear any traffic. The hosts were great and will definitely be coming back soon.
The house itself is perfect. The location is pretty isolated but at the same time not far from any store if needed. Me and friends maxed out the capacity but still had plenty of room to sleep and enjoy ourselves. All amenities were very well kept including the hot tub and grill. Any issues or questions I had were quickly responded to and Donna is just the sweetest and most helpful lady. Everyone who went was pleased with the stay. And so throughout the great view of the lake, interesting historical pieces scattered through the house, and great service from the host, I highly recommend staying here.
The house was beautiful. When it was restored they kept the 1861 charm but added modern conveniences. The woodworking details in each room was exceptional. The grounds were quiet and peaceful. Enjoyed the firepit at night. Bedrooms were large and beds were comfortable. The sunroom was great for relaxing and reading. Dining room table was large enough for us all and perfect for playing games. It was the nicest house we have rented over the past 10 years for our Siblings Retreat we have each year. The host, Donna, was friendly and responded quickly to my questions and texts. It is truly a Victorian Oaisis.
Plenty of room for five adults and two children. The hot tub was hit. Lots of room outside for the kids. Comfortable beds.

Why they chose this property
It’s so peaceful relaxing to sit in the hot tub and look out at the beautiful acreage. At certain times of the year, you can see soybeans and corn growing in the 200 acres that surround this house.
