Sage Hill Cabin Hocking Hills/Tar Hollow St.Forest
Walking distance to Tar Hallow State Forest, 30 minutes from Hocking Hills, great, spacious, relaxing, private retreat. U.S. Marine Corps Veteran couple owned - with 2 years of Super Host experience. This is our getaway that we are making available for others to enjoy. It has everything you need for a home away from home. Internet, propane Grill, several TV`s, fire pit, balconies, & trails. This is a 1st Class cabin, with a rustic yet modern feel with a beautiful balcony overlooking courtyard as well as nice loft with two grand bay windows to allow nature to shine in day or night and still be completely private.
There is a hot tub and a pool table for your enjoyment as well board games.
The entire cabin and seven acres are available exclusively for our guests for the duration of their stay.
We do not live on site but we are only a text message away to answer any questions and respond to an emergency. We have a great track record of keeping everything first-class and we seek to have everything ready and available for your convenience.
Very rural and wooded area - nestled up on a road that dead-ends into a trail leading on the Tar Hollow State Forest which is a bridle/hiking trail. Neighbors are barely visible in the winter and not visible once leaves are on the trees. Right in the middle of 7 acres midway up a tall hill
Coming off of U.S. 50, head north 1.4 miles on State Route 327 going, then left and go 1.7 miles on Poes Run Road, then take a left on Skaggs Road and go .3 miles where the driveway will veer off to the right with a wood arch over it and side fences.
There is plenty of parking - even enough for a couple of trailers and several cars. There is a switch back which can be navigated best by fully pulling forward at the switch back (lots of room for this purpose), and then backing the rest of the way up.
There are seasonal bugs. Some years there are locusts, some years are Japanese lady bugs, and some years the stink bugs are swarming. We do all we can to keep the place bug free, but this is the woods and they do get in. Please, understand, this is something that comes up and is different every season. We have simple rules: - Put all trash in receptacles and take it out to the Rumpke dumpster can at the end of the driveway. - Wash and put away all dishes and clean up any food debris left and a quick sweep of any dirt or food, etc. - If you use the towels (especially for the hot tub) help us by washing and drying some of the towels, it can take a while. - General area pickup of trash outside. - Thats it - as far cleaning - we will take care of the rest. We are thankful for you staying. Other rules: Though we are in a very rural area, there still are neighbors out there. Sound can carry a lot through the valley (especially at night) when there is no other noise but nature. Outside activities that create a lot of noise (elevated music volume, yelling, loud laughing etc.) should cease after 9 pm on weekdays and 11:00 pm on Friday & Saturdays. - The only shared amenity between our two cabins (which are 100 yards apart) are the trails. Trails should only be used after 9 am until dusk. Please be safe. - No smoking or vaping at all inside the cabin.

We really enjoyed our stay! Traveling with 3 kids (ages 5, 8 and 10) and a dog -- we were looking for a place that offered entertainment and nearby hiking. This place was perfect. The family enjoyed many of the house features, including ping pong, arcade games, board games, streaming apps for movie nights and a nice kitchen for home-cooked meals. If it wasn't so cold, we would have loved to use more of the outdoor spaces (e.g., fire pit, balconies)!
Had a great stay near hocking hills. The cabin was clean and offered great amenities to entertain the family between hikes. The woods surrounding the cabin provided a great atmosphere.
It was absolutely amazing, we had fun in the gaming room and in the hot tub! The cabin was just beautiful and such a warm welcoming feeling walking in. Was fantastic that they had pretty much everything you’d need.
It was a great little get away with my friends. The nature surrounding it is very refreshing. The hot tub was very nice! The beds were quite comfy! We all enjoyed our stay!
The cabin was super nice, it was clean and well stocked. I loved the outdoor space with the fire pit, play area for kids and the deer feeder outside the window. We did see 2 deer eating. I would definitely recommend staying there.
We absolutely loved our stay at Sage Hill Cabin! We hiked in Hocking Hills during the day and loved having the hot tub available for our sore muscles 😊
The cabin was clean and comfortable. Everyone was sad to leave and we hope to visit again!
We had an absolutely amazing time at the cabin. There were so many amenities and the location was secluded and private. The owners were incredibly prompt with all communication and didn't leave out a single detail. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and we will hopefully be coming back soon!
The cabin had everything. We came to explore hocking hills but loved that we could come back to a nice clean place to relax afterwards. The hot tub, fire pit, pool & ping pong table & video games kept my kids occupied & no one complained that they were bored.
We stayed for a week with my teenage children and the property and the Hocking Hills area was wonderful. The house is new and everything about it was basically perfect. I highly recommend the house and the host's were great as well. We have two small dogs and they loved it, highly recommended trip for the dog lovers.
The Sage Family has a wonderful getaway in the woods. Once you enter the very steep driveway, a beautiful oasis awaits you. You are tucked away from the world, and there is everything you need to relax (hot tub, games galore, all amenities, beautiful balcony)! Amazing hiking trails 30 minutes away.
