About this property
Modern Black Hills home nestled in the pines near beautiful Pactola Lake
This modern cedar-sided home offers comfort and convenience, but it is the peaceful, secluded aura that makes it hard to leave. Nestled into the hills, we are bordered by Forest Service land, which offers endless hiking opportunities. The breeze whistling in the pines truly induces peace and relaxation. The outdoor patio and deck space around the home invite family time or individual rest.
The home, built in 2002, has two levels, with the upper floor including a large master bedroom with glass doors leading to the back deck, large full bathroom, fully stocked kitchen, open concept family room and dining area. The lower level holds two bedrooms with queen beds, a full bathroom, laundry area, and large family/game room with a wood-burning stove. Five sliding glass doors and large windows offering beautiful views of the Hills are located throughout the home. Spacious rooms give every guest privacy, yet create openness for group activity.
Fully Stocked Kitchen: Guests are welcome to use the modern conveniences of a gas grill, dishwasher, refrigerator, electric stove, 12-cup coffee-maker, and microwave. Cupboards are stocked with popular seasonings and staples such as coffee, flour and sugar. Cooking utensils, dinnerware, and silverware are all supplied in quantity.
An electric washer and dryer are available for guest usage in the lower level of the home.
Extra Comforts: Each bedroom features a queen-size mattress and its own thermostat for individual control. The home has electric heat, and with the shade of the surrounding pines, is very comfortable all summer.

About the host
Hosted by Kari O'Neill

We live on a farm/ranch about 180 mi. SE our vacation home. We love to get away to the Black Hills, and feel a natural pull to the area. I (Kari) am retired from South Dakota State University in Community Development. We enjoy spending time with grandkids and family, fishing, camping and hiking. Our roots are deep in agriculture, with Rick's ranch being in his family over 100 years.
Why they chose this property
Simple - we LOVE the area and the home, and want to share it!
What makes this property unique
We are in the true beauty of the Black Hills. Wildlife such as deer and turkeys come up to the door and in the late summer cattle are around due to open grazing in the National Forest. If you want to get off the highway and into the Black Hills National Forest, you will be at home here.
