Jennifer and Jesse were born and raised in Maine. Jen grew up in Cape Elizabeth and Jesse here in Kennebunkport. We met in college and after living in Maui, Hawaii for 10 years returned to Maine to raise our two daughters, Willa and Madeline. Timber, our yellow Labrador Retriever and Vince, our grey cat also live here with us. Both are very friendly. Jen works as a Speech Language Pathologist at the hospital and Jesse as a builder and Independent Property Claims Adjuster. We built the house ourselves in 2010 and added the garage in 2022. We are avid sailors, surfers, and skiers. We live mostly on our sailing catamaran Pu'Uhonua during the summer months and in the house during the school year. We all love skiing in the winter mostly at Sugarloaf where our girls have ski raced. We love to surf here in southern Maine and travel to epic surf destinations around the world.
As our girls have started college and are away for much of the year and we spend most of the summer on our boat, we decided to rent our house in the summers. We love being rental hosts because we enjoy sharing the beauty of coastal southern Maine with travelers. We travel a lot as well and truly appreciate when the people we rent from provide us with great experiences so we like to pay that forward. Hope you enjoy your stay!

Why they chose this property
The neighborhood of Cape Porpoise is a small enclave approximately 2 miles down the coast from Dock Square, the center of Kennebunkport. Cape Porpoise is a charming neighborhood with great restaurants, shops, and a laid back vibe. There is a grocery store ,Bradbury's Market, with grocery essentials in the center of the village as well as a gourmet food store, Cape Porpoise Kitchen, which is great for prepared meals, breakfast sandwiches, good coffee and sweets. Cape Porpoise harbor has a pier which is great for fishing and sightseeing. There is a spot to launch kayaks and stand up paddle boards to explore the islands in a harbor protected from the open ocean, and a boat launch where you can launch trailered boats. There are also some great restaurants at the harbor and in town. The pier is a little less than 1 mile from our house, a great place to walk to for a gentle stroll. We are located about half way between Kennebunk Beach and Goose Rocks Beach, both easily biked to from the house. Our house is set back from the main road about 900 feet in a very private serene setting while still being within walking distance of everything Cape Porpoise has to offer. Our lot is also abutting the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust with direct access to the network of trails. This is a great place for hiking and mountain biking directly from our property.
Dock Square and the Lower Village Kennebunk are very close and offer many great restaurants, bars, and tons of great shopping. You can hire a fishing charter or go sailing or boating on any one of the charter boats in the Harbor. The local beaches, Kennebunk Beach (Gooch's) and Gosse Rocks are some of the nicest beaches in the state. Both of which are easily accessible from our house.
A little further (30 min) away you will find Old Orchard Beach with amusements, Pier, shops and more. Portland and Portsmouth are each about 35-40 minutes away which are medium sized cities offering tons of culture and activities.

What makes this property unique
Our property offers a very spacious and comfortable setting for your vacation. The house is large and airy with an open floor plan and tons of natural light making it great for entertaining and socializing. The bedrooms are set away from the common areas and are quiet and peaceful with window blinds and air conditioning which make for a peaceful, restful space. The ensuite above the garage offers a great retreat from the common areas of the house and is great for multi family or extended family parties seeking privacy separation while still being under the same roof. The house is set on a slight hill back off the main road giving a feeling of solitude while at the same time being within short walking distance of everything Cape Porpoise has to offer. The neighborhood of Cape Porpoise is 2 miles from the hustle and bustle of Dock Square Kennebunkport and provides a relaxing, laid back setting. Bradbury's market and the local restaurants make life in Cape Porpoise convenient. The large decks, patios, outdoor shower, screen porch, and hot tub make for comfortable outdoor living, and the direct access to the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust trail network provide serenity for hiking and excitement for great mountain biking.
