About this property

Marina’s Cozy Cottage. Family friendly with cold AC in summer and warm winters!

We are located on the Beautiful Arroyo Colorado River which is part of the intercoastal water way. We have barge traffic up and down the river to the Port of Harlingen. Our dock is set up for night fishing with water, electricity, and fish cleaning station on the dock. We have 1 boat slip that can accommodate bay fishing boats up to 25 feet. You can go by boat to the Bay in 10 minuets and to South Padre Island in less than a hour(30 minutes by car). There is plenty of good fishing . From the dock you can catch speckle trout, snook, red/black drum, and sheep head . We routinely see Dolphins swimming in the river, pelicans flying, white tails and turkeys roaming the neighborhoods with occasional views of exotic wild life (axis deer and Nilgai) across the waterway.

If you do not have a boat, we can provide you with contact information for professional fishing guides. Information is available upon request.

Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Set both A/C Thermostats at 78 degrees
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Wash all dirty dishes upon departure
Trash pick up is every Wednesday early morning. If your stays involves a Tuesday night stay please place trash bin by the street and return after p/u.
If you use any folding chairs outside, please return to their original location

Marina's Cozy Cottage was everything we were hoping for, plus more! From the second we stepped foot on this property, it felt like our home away from home. The house was very clean and the beds were so comfortable. The house came fully stocked with everything we needed plus everything we didn't think of! The fishing off the dock was way more than we ever expected for dock fishing....we caught so many fish! The lighted dock added more hours to our day of fishing. We traveled with our kids and fishing is all they wanted to do when they were awake. The grill was clean and fully stocked to cook all of our catches! The owner's quickly became our friends that we will never forget. Hands down the kindest, most genuine people we have met. Anytime we needed anything, they helped out instantly! Don't have any doubts on booking this cozy cottage. This cottage is very family and even wife friendly! Thank you so much for all of the memories made!

Fishing cabin

It was like staying at your own place. The residence was clean and tv's in all rooms. Kitchen and house had all the necessities that you would have at home. I brought food to cook but there was plenty of paper plates, paper towels and aluminum foil. Pier was in excellent condition with great lights and owner lives right next door if you need anything. Good place to stay and fish and relax.

The perfect place to get away

The property itself was surprisingly cozy. There was more than enough space for me and my 4 brothers as we sequestered my youngest brother away for a bro fest bachelor party. The climate control inside was absolutely perfect as the house never got warm. There is a full kitchen complete with cookware that came in very handy. The owners placed a bag of ice in the freezer and had a fully stocked coffee bar. We were also given a bag of charcoal and lighter fluid as well as a full laundry station complete with detergent and fabric softener. The owner greeted us when we rolled in and gave us a personal tour of the place. I could not have asked for a better time. Great rental. If you're thinking about it.....book it. You won't be disappointed. P.S. Don't forget to read through the guest book and leave your own anecdote for future guests. It is a small touch that adds a significant amount of personality to the place. I will 100 percent be seeking this property out again next time I am looking for a vacation rental
