BOARDING STATION - 1 Bedroom Apt, Sound View, W.D, WiFi & Recreation Package.

This is a newly remodeled single bedroom apartment located above DVO Surf Shop.
Enjoy all Hatteras Island has to offer from this cozy apartment.
This unit comes with a complete recreation package from DVO. DVO is a full service recreational rental business and Surf Shop. You may check out any piece of rental equipment at any time during business hours you are staying as our guests compliments of the house We offer bikes, kayaks, surfboards, beach equipment, stand up paddle boards, bodyboards, and much more.
Equipment can be reserved in advance or you may come downstairs and check out equipment during regular business hours.
When you are finished using the equipment, you may try something else. (Ex.- go for a bike ride in the morning then turn the bikes in after your morning bike ride then check out one or two stand up paddle boards for an afternoon paddle on the sound.)
You may also reserve equipment in advance. (Ex.- book two bikes on Monday, book two surfboards on Tuesday, book two paddle parts on Wednesday, etc…)
The first item of non- electric rental equipment if you are staying 3 days or two items if you are staying a week or more is included at no charge. If you have up to 4 travelers, you may book additional items of any equipment at 20 percent off .
We do occasionally run out of equipment during peak summer weeks so reserving the equipment in advance is recommended but not necessary. Visit mydvo.com to see everything available. Please use the owner/ guest portal to reserve your equipment.
The unit also offers a washer/dryer that is shared between the 3 rental on this property. There is WiFi snd two smart TV’s as well. We are a five minute walk to the beach and 5 minute walk to the sound as well.
Only one pet allowed for a $25 per day pet fee. Please contact the host prior to booking to bring in more than one pet. Linens and towels are not included in the base rate. You may rent linens for $20 and towels for $17 for your entire stay or bring your own for the bedroom , futon and bathroom . Also you have the option to get in as early as possible but guaranteed entry by 1 P.M. Check In Time to avoid the standard 4P.M. Check In Time for a $50 FEE. Please specify upon booking if you have a pet or pets and would like to rent linen packages, also let us know if you would like to take advantage of our Early Check In Option -

Nice spot for a getaway

Nice spot if you are looking to venture further south of the Nags Head area. Short drive to restaurants, pier/beach and sound side beaches. had a couple of minor issues that the owners took care of right away. Great, fun stay.

Great Beach and fun recreation package

Loved the recreation packages. We took two kayaks out the where the shop owner suggested and had an absolutely fantastic time. There were plenty of bike trials, and we had fun checking out surf boards and buggy boards. The beach was beautiful.

Great Experience in Salvo!

Loved our little apartment near the beach! This was our first VRBO and it was exactly as presented online. Renovated, clean, comfortable, washer/dryer were extremely convenient, bed was comfortable, beach was 10-15 minute walk through adjoining neighborhood (pavement). Host was very responsive and helpful. Staff onsite was very friendly, helpful with local information and making us feel welcome. Only negative was the small shower stall...bit challenging for those who are bigger humans. But that was a small thing compared to all the good parts. We would definitely stay again!

Worst Vacation Rental Experience

I have stayed in many vacation rentals across the world and this was by far the worst one for the following reasons: 1. Check-in - the day before arrival I recieved a message from the owner telling me I had not completed and returned their House Rules Agreement. I searched the listing, my email , sent multiple messages to the host and contacted VRBO. I spent well over an hour trying to track this down while I was packing. On the way to the house, I finally connecred with the host by phone and she was extremly rude. I explained who I was and that I was calling to find out how to check in without this agreement. She responded by saying 'Why are you calling me?' and hung up. She made some other rude comments, but I was puzzled. Eventually, she sent a message saying she got disconnected and that I could simply message back agreeing to the rules. 2. Communication was very poor the entire time prior to and after my stay. I messaged the host two times in the three weeks prior to my stay with no response. We had a multitude of isses during our stay and had very poor follow-up from the host regarding them. 3. The listing said it was newly remodeled. However, the bathroom was terrible. The floor of the shower was eroding, the toilet only worked every 15 minutes and the toild lid was discusting. The dishwasher did not work. The bedroom had an AC unit in the window not shown in the pictures and the air conditioner did not work our first couple days. It was 77-80 degrees in the unit. TBC

Thank you for your feedback. 1- As we mentioned when you called, we had a poor connection and couldn’t hear what you were saying. We anaked several times who you were but there was too much static to hear you. After the call was dropped, we were able to communicate through texting. 2- The cleaner reported the AC was not working prior to your check in. The AC repair company said they could get there the next morning so we put a window u it in for your comfort. The house has a brand new 2024 model central HVAC. It was fixed the following morning. 3- The shower was not eroding. The epoxy coating we had applied during the remodel had started peeling up but this was the first we were notified. It was fixed immediately as was the float valve in the toilet. We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay but worked diligently to resolve the issues at hand and keep this apartment well maintained.
